Chapter 241 I Don't Want It Anymore

When Henry left, it was already ten at night.

Grace came down from the second floor to see him off. When Henry reached the black car, he didn't get in right away.

He asked softly, "Are the kids asleep?"

Grace nodded. It was late, quiet, just the two of them. Henry looked at her for a long time before saying, "I delivered the documents you left to the lab, and I read the letter."

The moonlight was hazy.

Henry looked at her deeply. After a while, he pulled out a thin necklace from his suit pocket, gently caressing it. His voice trembled. "You left this behind, so I brought it to you."

Grace looked at the necklace and shook her head, murmuring, "I don't want it anymore."

Henry met her gaze.

Her eyes were moist, but her tone was firm. "Henry, I don't want it anymore. If it's a bother, just throw it away. It's late; let the driver take you home."

She turned and walked towards the entrance.

The streetlight stretched her slender silhouette long and thin.

Henry sat there, holding the diamond necklace he couldn't give away. He raised his voice to apologize, but Grace walked even faster.

She thought love doesn't need apologies, and neither does the lack of love.

Behind her, Henry sat in his wheelchair, the cold moonlight shining on him as he watched Grace walk away.

Grace didn't look back.

Later, Henry developed a "bad" habit—going out frequently.

He would go see Grace, watch her take care of the kids, see her attend parties, and have coffee with friends. In every frame, she was so vibrant.

From beginning to end, she never showed a hint of sadness. It was as if she had forgotten their past, and there were no traces of unhappiness on her face.

So he thought their separation was the right choice.

Without him, she had a new life. She no longer had to be trapped in that villa, no longer had to watch his moods, and no longer had to carefully protect his ego at night.

Grace was doing just fine.

Time flew by, and soon it was Christmas Eve.

Henry had an important business deal that required his personal attention. Celeste arranged it at a six-star hotel, and the afternoon meeting went very smoothly.

In the evening, Henry said goodbye to his associates and was wheeled by Celeste, discussing the deal.

When they reached the hotel atrium, Henry suddenly fell silent. He raised his hand slightly, and Celeste, surprised, stopped and looked around, seeing Grace standing ahead.

Grace was talking to a well-dressed man.

In the freezing cold, she wore a long black coat paired with a classic LV cashmere scarf. Her golden hair was tied up, and her attire was more feminine than business-like.

Grace's expression was very cheerful.

Henry couldn't help but speculate about the man's identity.

At that moment, Grace felt his gaze and looked over. Her eyes showed little emotion and she stood a bit straighter.

Landon Wright, the man talking with Grace, also looked over.

Henry's blue eyes narrowed a bit, and he told Celeste, "Push me over there."

When they were just a step away, Celeste stopped and greeted warmly, "Grace, long time no see!"

Grace's eyes landed on Henry's face, and she gave a faint smile. "Yes, long time no see."

Landon asked Grace, "Ms. Windsor, who is this?"

Grace replied calmly, "Mr. Montague, the president of the Montague Group and my ex-husband. And this is Celeste, his capable assistant."

Grace's tone was all business.

Landon had just come back from abroad with a big chunk of money he wanted to invest. Grace was trying to secure it for Serene Petal Dining and didn't expect to bump into Henry.

Landon was polite. He leaned forward a bit, shook hands with Henry, and handed over his business card. "I'm Landon Wright."

Henry smiled slightly. "Henry."

Henry looked at Grace and added, "By the way, Taylor's teacher just messaged me, saying Taylor didn't do well in her math test this week. If you're too busy with social events, you can send the kids to stay with me for a while. I can tutor her."

Henry was clearly doing it on purpose.

Landon was interested in Grace. She was young, beautiful, and successful. Landon, divorced but without children, believed he could be a good fit for Grace. However, he now felt a twinge of unease.

After Henry left, Grace apologized to Landon, who took the chance to invite her to dinner.

Grace turned down the invitation, citing the connections between Landon and Henry. It turned out that Landon was Cynthia's cousin, and Cynthia had once shown interest in Henry.

After saying goodbye to Landon, Grace intended to drive home but found her car had stalled.

Through the car window, she saw snowflakes dancing outside—it was snowing!

Grace sat in the car, reaching out her slender fingers to touch the glass, watching the snowflakes melt at her touch. Her mood suddenly lifted, and she wanted to walk in the gentle snow.

For many years, she had lived a tense life.

Grace hadn't truly relaxed in a long time, not for anyone else, but for her own moment of joy.

She got out of the car, bought herself a bouquet of vibrant roses, and walked quietly in the snow, inevitably recalling the past.

But those memories were no longer suffocating or confining.

The past was left behind now.

Grace didn't realize how beautiful she looked walking down the street, attracting the attention of many men.

Henry sat in the black car, quietly watching Grace, seeing her relaxed and happy. He didn't disturb her, instructing the driver to follow her slowly.

He rarely saw her like this—beautiful and gentle.

Grace inadvertently smiled, and he couldn't help but smile too, his heart pounding.

The snow grew heavier, covering the ground with a thin layer.

Finally, Henry softly said, "Pull over and ask Mrs. Montague to get in the car."

Sawyer's voice was loud. "Mr. Montague, what did you say?"

Henry, annoyed, ignored him. When the car pulled over, he rolled down the window and quietly looked at Grace, gently saying, "The snow is getting heavy, get in the car."
