Chapter 139 Boy or Girl, We'll Call Them Taylor Montague

At the Windsor apartment.

Clara knew Grace was coming over, so she hit the supermarket early to grab the freshest stuff for soup to help Grace stay healthy.

Grace was washing fruits and veggies when Clara saw her and exclaimed, "You're pregnant! Sit down and rest! I'll handle this."

Grace smiled and said, "The baby's only three months along; it's no big deal!"

Clara paused at the mention of the baby.

Handing Grace an apple, Clara hesitated before asking, "What are your plans? Last I heard from Juniper, you wanted to open a shop in Vesper City. What's up with that?"

Grace took a bite of the apple, savoring its sweet and sour taste.

After a moment, she said softly, "Yeah, that's the plan. I have a friend in Vesper City, someone Mrs. Young introduced. Very reliable. When Oliver gets out, we'll move there together."

Clara had a hunch about Grace and Henry. "But Henry can't build his career in Vesper City."

Grace responded quietly, "Yeah, he won't go."

In the evening, Henry came to pick Grace up after work.

Henry felt ignored at the Windsor apartment; he didn't even get a glass of water. Nathan and Clara were cold to him, but he took it in stride, showing no displeasure.

Henry and Grace walked to the car.

In the sunset glow, the black Rolls-Royce Phantom gleamed, and Grace's face had a gentle orange tint, looking serene.

Inside the car, Henry couldn't resist kissing her as he fastened her seatbelt.

Grace turned her face slightly and said calmly, "I'm tired. Let's go home early. I want to rest."

Usually, Henry would indulge her.

But this time, he didn't want to tolerate her coldness. Instead of letting go, he kissed her deeply, one hand on the back of her neck.

After a while, Henry, satisfied but not letting go, pressed his forehead against hers and murmured, "It's almost three months. Tomorrow at the prenatal checkup, I'll ask the doctor if we can resume some marital activities."

Grace didn't want to be intimate. Blushing slightly, she said softly, "Some people don't have marital relations throughout the entire pregnancy."

Henry's blue eyes deepened.

He guessed Grace's thoughts. She didn't want him to touch her; she had no desire for him.

Some women, after getting pregnant, have an increased desire for intimacy, but Grace never initiated a hug and rarely responded to his kisses.

Henry knew it was because of Elodie, because of that slap. Grace hadn't forgiven him; she had built a wall around her heart.

Henry smiled gently and said, "Then we won't."

Grace looked at him, feeling a sudden sadness.

She felt that Henry, who seemed to love deeply, hurt her the most.

Henry gently pressed the gas pedal, driving slowly for her pregnancy.

At a red light, he stopped the car and, resting his elbow on the window, said casually, "I heard from Celeste that you want to open a shop in Vesper City? Why now? You never mentioned wanting to develop there before."

Grace's heart skipped a beat.

After a bit, she replied, "I found a good shop, so I took it. Mrs. Young mentioned Vesper City has great schools. I thought it over and decided to have the baby there. More opportunities for the kid."

Henry tightened his grip on the steering wheel but kept his cool. "It's a good idea to give birth there. But you should slow down with work. Pregnancy is tough. I don't want you overworking."

Grace smiled faintly.

That night, Henry was in the study handling business.

Grace, after her bath, sat at the dressing table applying skincare. Finished, she opened a drawer with her important documents.

With Brent's help, Grace had already applied for permanent residency in Vesper City.

Once things settled, she and the baby would likely stay in Vesper City and not return to Evergreen City.

Grace had thought this through. She knew Henry wouldn't let go easily, so she had to plan. Using the baby as an excuse to live separately, over time, Henry would get lonely and return to his old ways, frequenting clubs and other women. In a few years, he might want to start a new family.

Just then, footsteps sounded at the door.

Grace put away the documents and closed the drawer. As she was about to get up, Henry was already beside her.

He leaned over, hugged her from behind, kissed the soft spot behind her ear, his voice slightly hoarse.

"What are you looking at?" Henry asked.

"Nothing, just getting ready for bed," Grace replied.

Henry held her in place, making her look into the mirror with him. He didn't let her move, wanting her to watch as he slowly untied her nightgown, making her see her own soft body.

"Henry!" Grace tried to pull her nightgown together, her voice trembling slightly.

Henry sat at the foot of the bed and pulled her onto his lap. He gently caressed her belly, where their baby was growing.

Henry's blue eyes sparkled. "Your belly seems a bit bigger!"

Grace looked down and smiled softly. "The baby is growing."

Henry tucked her into bed, lying beside her, his hand gently caressing her. His gaze was bright. "Have you thought of a name for our baby?"

Grace turned her back to him, not letting him touch her.

Henry chuckled and hugged her from behind, whispering softly in her ear, "I've thought about it for several nights. How about Taylor Montague? Whether it's a boy or a girl, we'll call them Taylor Montague."

Although Grace didn't care much for Henry, she liked the name and smiled slightly.

Henry, seeing her smile, couldn't help but whisper hoarsely, "Mrs. Montague, it's so hard to please you."

Grace's smile slowly faded.

Grace had a prenatal checkup scheduled for the next day and went to bed early.

In the morning, the sound of rain tapping on the window woke her up.

Feeling lazy due to her pregnancy, she didn't want to get up.

Henry came over, wanting to help her dress, so Grace decided to get up.

Just as they were having a small argument, a servant knocked on the door, "Mr. Montague, you have company!"

Henry frowned, clearly displeased. "I'm accompanying Mrs. Montague to her checkup. I won't see anyone!"

The servant hesitated and then said cautiously, "It's Ms. Esme Rodriguez from the Rodriguez family. She says she has something important to discuss with you and won't leave until she sees you!"

Henry looked at Grace.

Grace, already dressed in her nightgown, walked towards the closet. After a moment, her voice came faintly. "You should talk to her."
