Chapter 364 She Doesn't Care About His Belated Affection
On the third morning, Oliver finally made it back.
As he stepped into the apartment and swapped his shoes, the servant quietly approached him and said, "Mr. Windsor, while you were gone these past two days, Mrs. Windsor has been crying alone! I'm really worried she might hurt her eyes from all the crying."
Oliver paused for a moment, then shrugged off his coat and headed towards the bedroom.
In the early morning light, only a sliver of dawn peeked through the curtains, casting a soft glow on the white bed.
Nicole was snuggled up in Sarah's arms, her little face flushed as she slept.
Oliver sat by the bed, and Sarah woke up.
Sarah quietly looked at him, noticing the stubble on his chin and the shirt he hadn't changed in three days.
Oliver was usually so meticulous, changing his clothes every day.
These past three days, he hadn't left Ellie's side, showing just how much he valued her. So what did the innocent child in her belly mean to him?
Sarah looked at Oliver, the man she had once been madly in love with, and thought, 'It's time to end this!'
She didn't argue or make a scene, but tears unexpectedly fell from the corners of her eyes, making Oliver a bit flustered. He reached out to gently wipe away her tears and promised, "I won't go see her again! I made it very clear to her! Sarah, believe me, from now on, I will prioritize our family and take good care of you and the kids."
He caressed her cheek and then couldn't resist stroking her small belly. Even Nicole received his affection, and he found her little face even more adorable. He even said, "She can be Jacob's wife in the future!"
Sarah turned away, "She's part of our family. How could she marry Jacob?"
She was clearly unhappy.
Oliver took off his shoes and lay down beside her, trying to cheer her up, "Just a joke. She's still a baby."
He hugged her from behind, caressing her small belly.
In the past, he had been ruthless. But now, with a beloved daughter on the way, he wanted to settle down.
He already had fame and fortune, and he had experienced all kinds of women, which didn't seem to matter much anymore.
Now, only Sarah and the kids were his true concerns.
Oliver asked softly, "How's the baby?"
Sarah felt a pang in her heart, but her voice was very calm, "The doctor said it's a girl, and she's developing very well."
Oliver was stunned for a few seconds.
He couldn't contain his joy and gently pressed down on Sarah, his eyes flashing with desire. He lowered his head and teased her.
Sarah tilted her head slightly, making those little sounds Oliver loved. She even gently tugged at his hair, saying, "What's the point? You keep breaking your promises and always go see Ellie."
She got jealous and put effort into winning his affection, which delighted Oliver. He lifted his face, grabbed her chin, and forced her into a kiss.
Oliver was moved by this morning kiss, his desire rising. He wanted to take Nicole away, like last time, and pleasure himself in front of her.
Sarah refused, gently sitting up, combing her hair with one hand, and said calmly, "Since I got pregnant, I haven't been in the mood for this. My mouth tastes bitter now, and I want something sweet. Last time, I heard Zoey say there's a bakery that makes really good pastries, and I want to try them now."
Oliver straightened his clothes and touched her cheek, "I'll go buy them now!"
He went downstairs and got into the car. He called Zoey and asked for the address of the bakery.
Zoey told him and then smiled faintly after hanging up. Whether a woman loved or not was really obvious.
About an hour later, Oliver returned with the pastries, and Sarah was already up, wearing a silk nightgown, her waist-length hair tied to one side.
She ate very elegantly, taking small bites.
Oliver stood there for a long time, but she didn't pay much attention to him, treating him coldly.
However, the colder she was, the more Oliver wanted to get close.
He took a shower, came out wearing only a white bathrobe, and sat beside Sarah, gently holding her. She pushed him away, and he couldn't help but chuckle.
Leaning back on the couch, he took out a cigar and held it between his long fingers, but didn't light it, just enjoying the smell.
He looked at Sarah and spoke, "Next month, there's a wedding for a wealthy man's son here. I heard it's going to be very grand. You should come with me, it'll be a nice break."
Sarah was eating gracefully, but her fingers trembled for a second, and her long lashes were lowered.
Oliver thought she was unwilling and was about to persuade her, but to his surprise, she agreed.
She smiled, "Alright! We've been here for so long and haven't really gone out to have fun."
Her smile was very cute, with a bit of innocence, making Oliver's heart flutter.
In a moment of passion, he leaned in and whispered in her ear, "Sarah, I've missed you these past few days! I used to think you were innocent and naive, but now you've got this mature charm about you. You have no idea how amazing you are!"
Sarah's smile was faint; she didn't care for his belated affection.
