Chapter 46 Who Did You Meet?

Henry got back to the villa, and the servant looked a bit surprised.

"Where's Mrs. Montague? Didn't she go out?" Henry asked casually as he headed upstairs.

The servant quickly replied, "She's still home but told the driver she's going out soon."

On the second floor, Henry gently opened the master bedroom door and saw Grace looking stunning in a silk blouse and fishtail skirt.

Henry stared at her for a few seconds, then took off his suit jacket and sat on the sofa, his blue eyes fixed on her. "Got plans? Cancel them and have dinner with me."

Grace, who had a meeting with Gavin, approached Henry to explain, "I didn't expect you back so soon, Henry. Next time, just let me know in advance, and I'll be ready."

Henry, a bit frustrated, pulled Grace into a tight hug. Leaning in close, he teased, "Should I book an appointment now to have dinner with Mrs. Montague?"

Grace, sensing his mood, gave him a quick kiss and said softly, "Henry, I have an appointment. If I don't leave now, I'll be late!"

Henry held her waist, rubbing it a bit. Just as he was about to let go, Grace's phone rang. It was Gavin's assistant, Owen, with the restaurant location.

Grace didn't check her phone.

Henry stretched his neck, his voice slow. "Why aren't you checking your phone? Afraid I'll see it?"

Grace replied lightly, "Henry, do you want to check it? I can show you every message I get from now on."

Despite the tension, Henry chuckled and gently caressed her shoulder. "Come on, did I strike a nerve? Didn't you mention you might be late?"

As Grace left, Henry's smile faded, and he looked down, his features taking on a mysterious air.

Grace finally relaxed once she got in the car. Henry had a bad temper and was very suspicious. Since she returned to him, every interaction had been tense.

The driver asked, "Mrs. Montague, where to?"

Grace checked Owen's message and said softly, "BrewBlossom Cafe at TranquilTide Cove Hotel."

The driver pressed the gas and said, "The desserts there are famous! My wife and kids love them."

Grace smiled slightly at his comment.

Half an hour later, they arrived at TranquilTide Cove.

After Grace got out, the driver was about to park when his phone rang. It was Henry.

He quickly answered, "Mr. Montague, I’ve safely delivered Mrs. Montague. Rest assured."

Henry's tone was indifferent. "Send me the location. I'll pick her up later."

At BrewBlossom Cafe, Owen had reserved a private seat and ordered Grace's favorite desserts. When Grace arrived, Owen greeted her with a smile. "Finally, you're here! You must be important to make Mr. Garcia wait ten minutes."

Grace quickly apologized, "I ran into something just as I was leaving."

Owen, aware of Grace's situation with Henry, chose not to mention it. Instead, he pulled out a chair for her and smiled, "Take a seat and dig in. I ordered this just for you! Let's catch up over food."

Gavin smiled. "Long time no see!"

Gavin, a big shot in the inner circle and famous worldwide, had always liked Grace.

Owen poured Gavin a steaming cup of coffee and chimed in, "Let's relax and chat! Remember when we met Elodie Williams last time? Your poker face was priceless. I almost laughed at your hidden disdain."

Gavin patted Owen's hand. "Why bring her up?"

Owen acted like he just realized his mistake and apologized to Grace, "My bad, Grace. I didn't think it through!"

Grace wasn't naive. She knew they were hinting at Elodie. She suspected Henry had introduced Elodie to Gavin, but it was clear Gavin wasn't fond of her. He seemed more interested in Henry's money than Elodie.

She smiled lightly. "I get it, Mr. Garcia."

Gavin then started complaining. He took a sip of coffee and said bluntly, "Elodie is terrible at playing! I heard she played the violin for Henry every day when he was in a coma. Are we sure he didn't wake up just to stop her noise?"

Grace lowered her head, stirring her coffee, and remembered the past. When Henry had his car accident and fell into a coma, she was only 20. She was scared and visited him daily, even having the nurse play her recorded violin music for him. She never expected Elodie would be the one to wake him up.

Gavin stopped joking and turned serious. "Grace, you're my most promising student. I want you to study with me, but due to funding issues, I have to bow to capital."

Grace understood his situation. She softly reassured him, "I understand, Mr. Garcia."

After a moment, she added with a hint of bitterness, "I used to care a lot about him, but now, not so much."

Gavin made various promises.

In two hours, over a simple meal, they discussed many things.

Grace politely declined Owen's offer to drive her. After saying goodbye to Gavin, she left the cafe. As she walked through the hotel atrium, she unexpectedly saw a familiar face.

It was Lucas.

Grace stood a few steps away, hesitated, and then softly said, "Lucas!"

Lucas's eyes were deep. He had arranged to meet an old friend and didn't expect to see Grace here. Her attitude towards him was clearly distant.

He noticed her, elegantly dressed and carrying a designer bag, yet she didn't appear to be happy.

She wasn't happy!

Lucas felt a bit of heartache. He didn't make things difficult for her and spoke in the same distant tone, "How have you been since you went back?"

Grace nodded. "It's okay."

To avoid losing her composure, she quickly said goodbye to Lucas, claiming her driver was waiting outside.

As they passed each other, Grace's eyes grew slightly moist. She didn't miss Lucas's warmth; it was just the helplessness of her life.

Outside the hotel, Grace was surprised to find Henry, not the driver, waiting for her.

Bathed in the neon lights, Henry, in a crisp white shirt, looked noble as he sat in his sleek black Bentley. Engrossed in his phone, he looked up as Grace appeared. With a charming smile, he leaned over and opened the car door. "Get in!"

Grace came to her senses and silently sat in the passenger seat. After a moment, she turned to him and asked, "Why did you come? Where's the driver?"

Henry didn't answer. His long fingers gently touched her face, which was cold. Her eyes were also moist.

Henry's blue eyes darkened, and his voice was slightly tense. "You've been crying. Did you see someone?"
