Chapter 247 Oliver, You're Insane!

The servants and the doc at the villa got punished. If Sarah took any pills, the baby she was carrying wouldn't be healthy, even if it made it to birth.

After that, Sarah was under tight watch.

Her personal nurse was more like a guard. Unless Oliver was home, Sarah had zero personal freedom.

Oliver gave her a cushy life but treated her like a puppet.

This was the first time Grace met Sarah.

Sarah was younger and smaller than Grace had pictured. Her skin was perfect, and her delicate features had a fragile beauty.

In the middle of the night, Sarah played the piano in a white silk robe. The loose robe hid her six-month pregnancy completely.

On the nearby sofa, Oliver was still in his daytime shirt and trousers, with a laptop on his knees. He was working but keeping an eye on Sarah, and the vibe seemed pretty good.

Grace softly called from behind, "Oliver!"

Oliver slowly looked up. He wasn't shocked she found her way here. They stared at each other for a long time before he smiled faintly. "Coming over so late?"

As he spoke, he closed his laptop and instructed, "Olivia, get a room ready for Grace and make her a late-night snack. She's been into beef pizza lately."

At Oliver's command, the servants sprang into action. These servants were from Vesper City and knew Oliver cherished Grace the most, way more than Sarah.

At that moment, the piano music stopped.

Oliver turned to Sarah, his voice still gentle. "Why'd you stop playing? Come here!"

Sarah was a bit scared of meeting strangers.

She ran over and sat timidly beside him. Oliver gently touched her swollen belly and said to Grace, "This is Sarah. In just over three months, the baby will be born."

Then, Oliver spoke gently to Sarah, "This is Grace, my sister."

Sarah leaned against him, still timid and silent.

Grace dropped her luggage. Even if she were slow, she could see that Sarah was different. Sarah's eyes held fear and submission. She clung to Oliver like a child, and the sharp pain in her eyes was all too familiar to Grace.

Grace looked at Oliver, her voice trembling. "Oliver, you're insane!"

Oliver's gaze was deep.

Grace, afraid of scaring Sarah, lowered her voice. "Don't tell me she was always like this! You married her and got her pregnant when she's just 21! And now you've made her like this. Oliver, I'm not pleading for Dylan. I hate him as much as you do. You can take revenge on him, but to Sarah, don't you think this is too cruel?"

Grace suppressed her emotions and asked, "What will happen when the baby is born? Sarah can't take care of a child."

Oliver looked down at Sarah, his voice cold. "That was an accident! Besides, when the baby is born, there will be maids and nannies to take care of it."

Grace felt a chill all over.

Later, Sarah was taken upstairs by the servants, and Grace and Oliver had a big argument.

The argument was so intense that they didn't notice a slender figure crouching by the railing on the second floor of the villa. It was Sarah, her long hair cascading down her white silk robe, tears in her eyes.

Sarah had been covering her mouth. She hadn't heard Dylan's name mentioned in a long time. Oliver's sister must have seen Dylan!

Downstairs, Oliver leaned on the sofa and lit a cigarette.

He glanced at Grace. "Head back to Evergreen City tomorrow morning! And don't even think about messaging Dylan. He can't come! He can't leave the country. Even if he knows Sarah's here, he's stuck. Plus, Sarah and I are legally married. With her current mental state, I'm her primary guardian. No one can take her away!"

Just then, a servant brought in the pizza.

Grace didn't touch it. She looked deeply at Oliver, feeling like her brother had changed. She trembled as she softly asked, "Oliver, is this just revenge for you?"

"Yes!" Oliver shot back quickly.

Grace started to laugh softly, a sad laugh. She said, "You don't dare to admit it! Because once you admit you like her, you'll be filled with guilt and pain, since you were the one who made her like this!"

Grace felt really sad because she knew that fooling others was easy, but fooling yourself was tough.

She believed Oliver was hurting too.

Grace didn't want to stay. She picked up her luggage and said softly, "My assistant is still waiting outside! Oliver, you can hide her for a while, but can you hide her forever?"

She turned to leave.

Behind her was Oliver's stern voice, "Grace!"

Grace stopped but didn't turn around. She just softly said, "Oliver, seeing her reminds me of my past self! I'm begging you, let her go, and let yourself go too!"

Oliver couldn't do it. He stood in the fancy hall, under the dazzling crystal chandelier, his handsome face showing a trace of confusion. He said, "Grace, we've been through so much together over the years! Now, do you want to create a rift between us for an outsider?"

Grace turned and interrupted him, "She's not an outsider! From the moment she married you, she became your wife, your lover! Oliver, ask yourself! If you didn't love her, would you have allowed her to carry your child?"

She lowered her eyes. "Time will give you the answer."

With mixed emotions, Grace couldn't stay. She couldn't take Sarah away either. Alone in a foreign country, she couldn't fight Oliver. Intervening forcefully would only make Sarah's life worse.

But Grace felt a pang of conscience.

She walked outside and couldn't help but look up at the second floor, at the brightly lit place.

Then, she saw Sarah.

The night wind was chilly.

Sarah stood in the cold wind in a white dress, her small face no longer showing fear, but clarity. She quietly looked at Grace.

Grace looked back at her, seeing the tears in Sarah's eyes.

She found that Sarah wasn't crazy!

Grace covered her mouth, feeling like crying and laughing at the same time. Finally, she smiled slightly at Sarah. Sarah threw a small object down, landing straight at Grace's feet.

Grace picked up the crumpled paper and opened it. It was a piece of drawing paper.

On it, in messy handwriting, was a line of words: [Vesper City, Lester, help him.]

Grace looked up, and Sarah's eyes were filled with tears.

Sarah knew Grace couldn't take her away or help her. She just wanted to ask her to check on Lester. Lester's parents had also been implicated and lost their jobs, and Lester had lost his hands because of her.

Grace put the note away and mouthed, "Don't worry."

She left, her figure growing smaller and smaller.

Behind her, Sarah slowly crouched down, crying like a child.

Footsteps approached from behind. She knew it was her husband. A moment later, Oliver's voice sounded, "What are you looking at?"
