Chapter 243 No One Else Could Capture My Heart But You

Henry kept calling out Grace's name, begging her not to leave, with a tear sliding down his cheek.

In his dreams, he could finally admit his feelings for her, say the things he never dared to say, "I've always liked you, just you. You once said I was incapable of love, so I learned to love. No one else could capture my heart but you. Grace, I won't like anyone else."

Henry's words were so bold and passionate that Aurora's eyes welled up.

Aurora had never taught him how to express his love through words, and only in his dreams could he say these things, showing how repressed he was. His lack of love know-how was the root of his rocky relationship with Grace.

Seeing Henry in pain, Aurora cried softly, "Henry, it's my fault!"

Aurora, who was always so proud, had put aside her dignity at this moment. She asked Lucas to take care of Henry and requested Celeste to continue working by Henry's side. She kept saying, "Please."

In the end, she covered her face and cried uncontrollably.

The bedroom door opened again, and this time it was Neil who entered.

For the past two years, Henry had arranged for Neil to work in the mailroom of the Montague Group, giving him a sense of purpose. No one had discovered that the refined middle-aged man in the mailroom was the former president, Neil.

Neil had never mentioned it; his life was simple.

Every month, he would come to see Henry, but their relationship remained distant.

As he arrived, Lucas nodded at him and then called Celeste away to avoid any awkwardness.

Seeing Neil, Aurora immediately became agitated. She pointed at Henry and grabbed Neil's collar, cursing softly, "Look at this. If you hadn't selfishly left home back then, how would our son have ended up like this? Neil, why did you come back? How dare you show your face here again?"

Neil was a refined man, not good with words.

For years, this was the first time Neil had retorted. He said painfully, "Aurora, we were both at fault back then. Yes, I did leave, but were you blameless? You took out your dissatisfaction with me on the children. You were strict with Henry and harsh with Grace. Was it really only my fault?"

Aurora's grip loosened, and a look of confusion appeared on her face. Yes, if it weren't for her actions back then, Henry and Grace wouldn't have ended up like this.

Henry wouldn't be in such pain!

She resented Neil and took a step back, but unexpectedly, Neil pulled her close, causing her to stumble into his shoulder.

For so many years, Aurora hadn't been close to a man. As long as Neil had been gone, she had remained alone.

Back then, Aurora was still young. She had the needs of a woman and sometimes wanted a shoulder to lean on, but she loved Neil deeply. Later, her hatred for him surpassed her love.

Aurora saw all men in the world as heartless. Now, the familiar presence of this man made her break down.

Aurora cried in Neil's arms, hitting him while expressing her grievances and hatred from all these years. She cried suppressively, never admitting that she missed him, that she, like Seraphina, had hoped for his return.

Neil's eyes were filled with tears, and he said softly, "Aurora, I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"

But Aurora pushed Neil away. She didn't want him and didn't want his belated comfort. She had long gotten used to being alone. She still threw harsh words at him, saying she would file for divorce and officially cut ties with him.

The atmosphere was oppressive.

Henry still hadn't woken up. He kept murmuring Grace's name, still saying those words of repentance.

Aurora had been taking care of Henry. Over the years, they had grown distant, and for many years he wouldn't let her get close. Only now could she care for Henry as she used to, as if returning to the past.

Back then, Neil was still around, and she was happy. Henry was cheerful and smart.

Henry was still out cold. Aurora knelt by his side, wiping the sweat off his forehead. She gently touched his handsome face and whispered, "Should I call her? Henry, if I bring her here, will you get better? Will you wake up?"

Henry, even in his unconscious state, grabbed his mom's hand tightly.

Aurora leaned on his pillow, crying her heart out. She'd been through this once before and couldn't bear the thought of losing Henry again.

As night fell, the snow outside piled up, making the night almost glow.

Inside the villa, the sound of a car pulling up broke the silence.

Aurora, wrapped in a coat, sat in the back seat. Though her face bore remnants of tears, she sat tall, always upholding her dignity.

Later, she made her way to beg Grace to come see Henry.

Twenty minutes later, the black car stopped in front of a black wrought-iron gate. Aurora stopped the driver before he could honk.

"I'll walk in," she said softly.

The driver looked surprised, but Aurora had already opened the car door and stepped out into the cold night wind.

After the guard reported her arrival, she was allowed in.

The moonlight shimmered like silver silk. Aurora, in high heels, trudged through eight inches of snow. Soon, the snow had soaked her shoes and socks, freezing her to the bone.

She was shivering all over, but her face showed determination. She had to bring Grace back.

Aurora reached the front of the villa, the door tightly closed, but the lights inside were bright. She stood outside and called out, "I want to see Grace! Please!"

The door opened, and a basin of water was thrown at her. It was Clara.

Aurora was drenched, the low temperature almost freezing her clothes. She didn't care. She looked at Clara and repeated, "I want to see Grace!"

Clara had already heard the news that Henry was very ill.

But she couldn't forget what Aurora had done to Grace, something that almost cost Grace her life. She threw cold water on Aurora just to make her leave.

Aurora saw that Clara was unmoved. She knew Clara hated her, hated her harshness.

After hesitating for a moment, she knelt in the snow, her clothes completely wet, and begged Clara, "Clara, I know I've wronged you, and I've wronged Grace even more! But you don't have children, you don't understand my feelings. I can't bother to see my son suffer in pain."

Clara interrupted her, coldly asking, "How could you say that? Grace and Oliver are my children! Even Henry was once dear to me. I treated him as my own! But how did he treat Grace? How did you treat her? The Montague family has no heart!"

Clara finished speaking and turned to leave. Her words were harsh, but as she turned, she softened, not for any other reason but because Henry had once saved Taylor's life.

Clara left, and Aurora knelt in the snow, crying, refusing to leave.

Aurora had told Henry she would bring Grace back.

Clara returned inside and saw Grace had already changed into an outfit for going out. She watched quietly for a while, then walked up to Grace, adjusting her collar and wrapping a scarf around her. Her voice choked with emotion. "It's cold outside, keep warm!"

Grace responded softly, "I'll be back soon."

Grace understood that Clara was afraid she would soften. She said, "We were once married, and he's still the father of the children. I'll go see him, and I'll come back once his fever subsides."

Clara no longer objected. In fact, she didn't want anything to happen to Henry either.

Grace walked to the door and opened it. The wind and snow rushed in, and she pulled her coat tighter.

At the door, Aurora knelt there like an ice sculpture, motionless.

Seeing Grace come out, Aurora was in disbelief. It took her a moment to react. "Grace, Henry has been calling your name! Please, go see him!"
