Chapter 386 Don't worry, I won't Run Away

Oliver kept kissing her, like he was trying to devour her whole.

Caught up in the moment, he grabbed her soft hand and pressed it against himself. "Sarah, touch me, feel me!" he said.

Sarah tried to pull her hand back but couldn't break free.

Eventually, she stopped struggling. She knew if she didn't give him what he wanted, he wouldn't let her go tonight.

Sarah wasn't naive anymore. She knew how men worked.

Her body pressed against his, her small face resting on his chest, and her hands roughly unbuckling his belt. She was anything but gentle.

Oliver felt a thrill he'd never experienced before. He closed his eyes and soaked it in.

In the heat of the moment, he opened his eyes to look at her. He thought Sarah was as lost in the act as he was, but she wasn't. Her eyes had a hint of mockery, no affection or desire.

Afterwards, Sarah took the initiative to tidy him up. "I'm going back," she said.

As she moved, he pulled her back into his arms.

Oliver took a few minutes to swallow his frustration. He didn't want to argue during their reunion. He rarely lowered himself like this. "Sarah, my feelings for you aren't just physical."

"Really?" Sarah lay on his shoulder, her expression indifferent. "Oliver, there's no point in saying more! I want to sleep now. If you haven't had enough, I can call for a paid service. It's legal here."

He looked down at her, clearly angered.

Sarah ignored him. She adjusted her nightgown and stepped out into the night.

Oliver stared at the door.

He could tell Sarah had changed. If she didn't want to have sex with him before, she would have made a scene. But now, she could set aside her emotions just to get rid of him.

What was she thinking?

Early in the morning, after washing up, Sarah came downstairs.

Oliver was playing with Jacob in the yard, kicking a small ball. Nicole was lying in a small bed, basking in the sun, stretching her little arms. The scene was indescribably beautiful.

Sarah watched quietly.

Next to her was the new nanny she had hired, who happened to be from Evergreen City. She kept praising Oliver, "Mrs. Windsor, I didn't realize you married so well! Look at Mr. Windsor, so dignified, and the eight bodyguards he brought with him, all so strong. They must be paid well!"

Sarah's lips curled into a faint smile. "Maybe they're not bodyguards, just for surveillance."

The nanny didn't believe it. "How could there be surveillance between a couple! Mr. Windsor must think it's not safe abroad and came personally to protect you and Jacob. You should tell him it's very safe in Skylandia, no need for bodyguards."

Sarah glanced at her. The nanny fell silent.

Sarah walked up to Oliver and watched Jacob with him. Oliver guessed she had something to say, so he patted Jacob and gave him a small ball to play with on his own.

They stood side by side, but their shadows didn't overlap.

Sarah asked softly, "How long are you staying?"

Oliver turned to look at her. He guessed her meaning, so he took out a cigarette from his pocket but didn't light it, just played with it between his long fingers. "It's up to you. Sarah, as long as you want to stay, we'll stay."

Sarah decided to be straightforward with him. She said, "I don't know why you regret it, but Oliver, this isn't the kind of marriage I want. If you don't want a divorce, then set me free. Let me live abroad, and you can come see Jacob anytime you want. Don't worry, I won't run away. You always have something to use against me. This time it's Zoey's family, right? Oliver, I admit it—I can't win against you. So, let's find a middle ground!"

Sarah was rational. But this wasn't what Oliver wanted. He wanted the shy, gentle wife. He wanted the Sarah who loved him. So he didn't agree.

He looked in the same direction as her, towards Jacob, and said, "Come back to Evergreen City with me! Otherwise, I'll take Jacob. I'll personally educate him and turn him into a business elite, but I think he won't have a happy childhood. You can take Nicole with you, but I think when Jacob grows up, he might hate you."
