Chapter 298 Our Child Naturally Takes After Us

In the end, he never made the call. But deep down, Oliver knew this weird feeling was longing. He missed Sarah.

Before New Year's, Oliver took 8-month-old Jacob to Dawnstar to spend the holiday. When the private jet landed, it was snowing, but they touched down safely.

The black limo slowly rolled into the villa that evening.

A thin layer of snow covered the car's roof.

Oliver stepped out and looked around. The villa wasn't as lively as it was during Christmas; it was super quiet, with no New Year's vibe at all.

Entering the hall, he brushed the snow off his coat and didn't see Sarah.

Olivia noticed his thoughts and said while holding Jacob, "Mrs. Windsor has been refusing to come downstairs. She eats her meals upstairs. She doesn't talk much, either stares blankly or sits and draws by herself. Sometimes she stays up all night drawing. Once, I secretly looked at her drawing; it was of Jacob."

Oliver paused, played with Jacob for a moment, then looked upstairs and said, "Tell her to come downstairs for dinner and that Jacob and I are back."

Olivia was quite happy and was about to go upstairs but hesitated, "Calling her Mrs. Windsor might not be appropriate anymore. How about calling her Ms. Miller?"

Oliver was a bit displeased and said indifferently, "Just call her Mrs. Windsor. Nothing will change."

Olivia felt very helpless inside but maintained a smile on her face, "Alright, I'll go call Mrs. Windsor downstairs. She'll be very happy to know Jacob is back."

Olivia headed upstairs, and the other servants kept playing with Jacob, saying how adorable he was and how much he looked like Sarah.

Oliver rolled up his shirt sleeves, walked over, picked up Jacob, and casually asked, "Really? How does he look like his mom?"

The servant quickly replied, "His eyes and nose resemble Mrs. Windsor's, and his lips resemble yours."

Oliver kissed Jacob and said lightly, "Our child naturally takes after us."

As they spoke, footsteps sounded from the second floor.

Sarah followed Olivia nervously. When she saw Oliver on the stairs, she paused but didn't run like she used to. She couldn't take her eyes off Jacob, full of longing.

Jacob looked well-fed and super cute!

After Sarah giving birth to Jacob, he had been raised by Oliver, and she had only seen him a few times.

She missed Jacob terribly, but it wasn't that she didn't want to see him; she just didn't dare to show her affection.

Sarah slowly walked downstairs. She didn't dare to hold Jacob. She only dared to stand beside Olivia and watch, her expression like looking at a cute kitten, her eyes faintly red.

Oliver quietly watched Sarah. She had lost a lot of weight, her eyes sunken into her small face, looking pitiful. Like last time, she was only wearing pajamas, slightly see-through. Fortunately, the villa was staffed only by female servants, so Oliver didn't say anything.

After a while, he spoke gently, "Do you want to hold him?"

Sarah hid behind Olivia.

Olivia coaxed her like a child, "Mrs. Windsor, Jacob is your child! Look how cute he is!"

Sarah's eyes reddened even more, like a frightened little rabbit, but she still didn't hold Jacob.

She was scared she'd give in, scared she couldn't let go of Jacob, scared she'd end up begging Oliver, and scared she'd be his captive forever.

Oliver's mood suddenly took a nosedive. He walked to the dining table and said, "Let's start dinner."

Since it was New Year's, the house was packed with all sorts of dishes. Servants were bustling around. Olivia went upstairs to grab a robe for Sarah, helped her put it on, and seated her next to Oliver, quietly advising, "Try to cheer up Mr. Windsor. He brought Jacob here for New Year's; don't spoil his mood."

Sarah looked lost. Outside, the wind and snow picked up. The travel-worn Oliver looked distant and noble. He poured himself a glass of wine, drank slowly, and kept watching Sarah eat.

Sarah was a bit picky with food. Olivia placed the beef in front of Sarah, but no matter how much she coaxed, Sarah wouldn't take a bite.

Oliver then brought it to her lips, "Didn't you love this before?"

Sarah was visibly stunned. Not just her, even Oliver felt a bit dazed.

He remembered the past, remembered when they were first together. He had once cooked for her, and her favorite was the beef he made.

But now, she wouldn't eat a bite.

Just as Oliver was about to take away the plate, Sarah opened her mouth and bit into the beef. Her tender red lips held the meat.

In that instant, Oliver felt a strong surge of desire; he still had feelings for Sarah.

This time, Oliver didn't come for physical reasons; he simply wanted to bring Jacob to see Sarah.

After dinner, he rested for a while and then went to the backyard to soak in the hot spring.

He had bought this villa because of the natural hot spring in the backyard. Soaking in it during the cold weather was very comfortable. Oliver walked along the path, and since it was outdoors, occasional light snowflakes fell.

He didn't mind. When he reached the pool, he removed the towel from his waist and stepped into the pool naked.

But as soon as he stepped into the pool, a slender figure emerged from the bottom of the hot spring. Her long hair clung to her delicate shoulders, making her look very fragile.

Sarah covered her chest with her hands, her body trembling, her expression full of wariness.

Oliver saw her. He placed a towel on his head, his long arms casually stretching out, resting on the edge of the pool, his brow slightly furrowed, "What are you afraid of?"

Sarah's lips trembled as she cautiously said, "Olivia said we're divorced, so we shouldn't meet naked. She said I should wear clothes when I see you."

Oliver sneered coldly, "You really listen to her."

Sarah shrank into the corner, not daring to move or speak, looking pitiful but endearing.

Oliver was both angry and amused. At that moment, Olivia came over with a large bath towel, seemingly to help Sarah out of the pool. Seeing Oliver, she was first startled, then said awkwardly, "Mr. Windsor, you're here to soak in the hot spring too!"

Oliver's eyes deepened.

Over there, Sarah didn't dare to get up, and Oliver had no intention of avoiding her.
