Chapter 192 Because He Knew Henry Hated him!
Neil was rocking some basic threads, but even if he turned to dust, Aurora would still know it was him.
After all these years, he finally made it back!
The old flames crossed paths again, and technically, they were still hitched since he never got around to the divorce papers. Aurora's face was a mess of tears; she couldn't handle this curveball. In her mind, Neil was long gone. If he wasn't, why wasn't he there for Heather and Lucas?
All these years, Aurora had chances, but she never grilled Heather because of her pride!
Aurora's lips quivered as she stared at Neil, the guy she loved and hated forever, and muttered, "You're so heartless!"
Neil took a step closer, but Aurora backed off, looking all confused, then she bolted.
In her heart, Neil had died in some far-off place.
Over at Tranquil Heights, Taylor wasn't ready to crash yet and wanted to mess around on the lawn a bit longer.
Clara gave in and asked Grace, "Can you take her for a walk? I'll head back and whip up something for her to eat."
Grace glanced down at Taylor.
Taylor's eyes sparkled, and her voice was all sweet. "Grandma is the best!" she leaned in and planted a kiss on Clara.
Clara felt a mix of joy and sadness. If she could, she'd rather be the one sick instead of Taylor. She turned to Grace, her eyes full of endless love for Taylor.
Honestly, Taylor should be napping. Grace usually stuck to her guns, but this time she caved; she didn't want to hurt Clara's feelings.
Not just that, she even had the servant bring out Sherry.
Taylor and Sherry played like there was no tomorrow.
Grace leaned back on the bench. Even though it was early fall, she felt a bit chilly and wrapped her shawl tighter.
Just then, Taylor ran over.
Her cute, sweaty face needed a wipe, and she asked Grace to do it. Grace used a handkerchief to clean her up, her eyes full of warmth.
Taylor suddenly hugged her and whispered, "There's someone outside."
Grace looked out.
At the entrance of Tranquil Heights stood a tall, thin middle-aged guy with a classy vibe. At first glance, he looked a lot like Henry, like a future version of him.
Grace almost instantly figured out who he was—it was Neil!
Seeing how much he looked like Henry, she couldn't help but think back. She remembered the night Seraphina passed away. It was pouring rain, and Seraphina was barely hanging on, waiting for her son Neil.
Seraphina kept calling for Neil, but he never showed.
Grace's eyes welled up; she felt so bad for Seraphina.
Through the black wrought-iron gate, Neil quietly watched Grace and Taylor. He knew they were Henry's wife and kid. All these years had flown by, and when he left, Henry was just ten.
In a blink, Henry was now a dad!
Neil's eyes filled with tears. He wanted so badly to get a good look at Taylor, to hold his little granddaughter, but he didn't dare to step in.
Because he knew Henry hated his guts!
