Chapter 235 Can You Tolerate Sharing Me with Someone Else?

Henry's voice was all soft and chill, like nothing went down earlier.

Grace strolled over and plopped down next to him, snuggling into his arms, soaking in his fresh scent. Henry's hand wrapped around her slim shoulder, gently stroking without any hint of wanting more.

After a bit, his voice got a little raspy. "You saw it. I even need help to take a bath. Grace, being with Owen is the best move for you."

Grace buried her face deeper, not arguing. She just pressed against his warm skin, her voice shaky as she asked, "So what are we now? Henry, do you see yourself as my lover? Can you really handle sharing me with someone else? Are you that cool with it now?"

Her voice carried a hint of tears, and her sad look had that fragile beauty Henry always liked.

Henry turned to gently wipe away her tears. He didn't say anything, knowing words would just make it worse.

In that sad moment, Henry's phone rang. It was Celeste, about some company stuff. After answering, Henry sat up, talking in a calm tone while his eyes stayed on Grace lying on the bed.

Grace started to get up, but Henry, with the phone tucked between his ear and shoulder, held her arm to keep her from leaving. After a few quick words, he hung up. Lying back down, he said, "Work stuff."

Grace was about to speak when he reached out and turned off the light. In the dark, he held her gently and said, "Let's talk, Grace. It's been ages since we lay in the same bed like this. Didn't you have something to tell me?"

Henry really cherished this feeling. With the light off, the world seemed to pause, like Grace was still his wife. Owen, Dylan, and Lucas—all of them vanished. He even held her hand, doing nothing more than treating her as his wife.

Grace moved closer, resting her small face on his shoulder and softly said, "This morning, Taylor told me that her friends have started school, and she wants to go too. Henry, how's the thing I mentioned last time going?"

Henry looked down at her in the dark. "It's all set! Tomorrow's Monday. Shall we take Taylor for the interview? Let's bring Avery too. That kindergarten is pretty strict and values family vibes."

Grace knew there was nothing he couldn't handle. She kept holding his hand, talking about her life in Vesper City, her career, and sometimes mentioning Juniper and Brent. In the past, they never chatted like this, like an old married couple.

Late at night, they fell asleep in each other's arms.

The next morning, Grace woke up, opening her eyes to see the soft morning light filtering through the white curtains by the floor-to-ceiling window. Henry was still asleep beside her, his handsome features catching her eye.

Grace's slender white fingers gently traced it, and she smiled.

After a bit, she looked around nostalgically, gently lifted the thin blanket, and walked to the walk-in closet, just like before, to pick out clothes for Henry and iron his shirt and trousers.

In the closet, Henry had left a little surprise. In a cute little box was a thin diamond necklace. The diamond wasn't huge, probably worth just a few grand, but the design was on point, perfect for everyday wear.

Grace was stoked. She took out the necklace and put it on, checking herself out in the mirror, feeling a bit of sweetness in her heart.

They'd been married for so long, and this was the first time she felt this way!

Wearing it, she picked out a shirt and trousers for Henry and ironed them until they were crisp and neat.

In the morning light, her face was soft, glowing with a woman's charm. Henry wheeled himself in and saw this scene. Like her, he was pretty moved. He rolled over and gently pulled her onto his lap, lightly touching her delicate face, his eyes landing on the thin necklace. "It looks good on you."

Grace couldn't help but touch it.

Henry went straight for a kiss. Grace pressed against his shoulder, one hand gently stroking the slightly stiff short hair at the back of his neck, softly protesting. "What if the kids come over!"

Henry kissed her again, his voice muffled. "It's only six o'clock; they won't be up this early."

At that moment, they were both in their pajamas, and Henry and Grace, unable to wait, pressed against each other. They made up for what they didn't do last night, enjoying the pleasure like a real couple.

Henry didn't mention Owen, and neither did she.

Even though his legs were a bit of a hassle, their passion was enough to easily hit the spot. Maybe he'd been holding back for too long; that morning, he went for it three times. By the end, Grace was a bit sore. She touched his hot face, softly pleading, asking if he was done.

Henry finally let go, completely spent.

Afterward, Grace rested for half an hour before going to wake the kids. When she brought the kids downstairs, Henry was already sitting at the dining table. In the morning light, he was all dressed up, his hair neatly trimmed, looking sharp and dignified.

Taylor was the most attached to him. She called out softly, "Daddy," ran over to give him a sweet kiss, and then clung to his side, pouring him coffee and bringing him a sandwich.

Grace sat down with Avery. She watched Henry drink his coffee and softly said, "You should drink less; it's bad for your health."

Henry looked up, his blue eyes especially captivating in the morning light. He looked at her for a moment and then said very slowly, "What we did just now is worse for my health; my back is still a bit sore."

"I'll massage it for you, Daddy." Taylor, not getting the adult banter, jumped down and eagerly helped Henry massage his back.

Henry looked at Grace. Grace's face was slightly flushed. She didn't want to recall the recent intimacy now, while Henry felt happy just looking at her—a fleeting happiness. He was so happy that he almost forgot that she and Owen were a thing.

Maybe it was a guy's instinct, but he couldn't help wondering if she was just as eager with Owen. Such thoughts occasionally tormented Henry, keeping him awake at night.
