Chapter 248 He Hadn't Fallen in Love with Sarah
Sarah froze as the footsteps behind her got closer. A hand finally rested gently on her shoulder.
Oliver watched Grace walk away, squinting a bit as he asked again, "Sarah, what are you looking at?"
He crouched down, his long fingers lightly pinching her chin.
Sarah looked up, her big, teary eyes meeting his.
She bit her lip. "You guys were arguing so loudly."
As soon as she said it, she collapsed into his arms. She was six months pregnant but still so light, her body weak and boneless as she nestled against him. The faint scent of her skin stirred something in Oliver.
Since the Lester incident, they hadn't been intimate.
Sarah looked like a lost little girl, and Oliver didn't think he had it in him. Even though she was his wife and looked mature enough, he still hadn't touched her.
Tonight, maybe out of frustration or because she threw herself into his arms, Oliver couldn't resist. He gently picked her up and carried her to the bedroom. He placed her at the foot of the bed, standing between her legs, and took off her slippers.
He never took his eyes off her.
Her soft body rose and fell, and her silk nightgown slipped off, revealing a lace bra and flawless skin.
Sarah trembled with fear, whispering that she didn't want it. But at that moment, Oliver wasn't going to let her refuse.
In the next second, she started crying, burying her face in the pillow, crying helplessly. She curled up, trying to avoid him, but there was no escape.
Oliver's hand, like a hot iron, held her waist as he completely took her.
He seemed tireless, making her call out his name and look into his eyes. Whenever she disobeyed, he wouldn't let her feel any pleasure.
Sarah cried hard, yet he still did it twice.
Afterward, she lay on the pillow, crying like a child.
Oliver usually treated her coldly, but now that his anger had subsided, he was a bit gentler. Unusually, he lay beside her to comfort her, "Wasn't it quite enjoyable just now? Your body is so soft, so..."
He didn't finish the sentence. Sarah's face was full of confusion; she didn't understand his words at all.
Finally, he lightly touched her thin, sweat-dotted shoulder and said softly, "Silly girl!"
She trembled under his hand.
Later, Oliver called the doctor to check on Sarah.
He had been quite rough and was worried about the baby. Fortunately, the examination showed no major issues, but the doctor advised that as her belly grew larger, it would be best to avoid making love.
Late at night, Oliver lay on his side in bed. He gently touched Sarah's small belly, looking thoughtful.
Sarah didn't dare to move.
After a while, he pulled his hand back. "Get some sleep."
Just as he turned off the light and lay down, Sarah snuggled up to him, her soft arms wrapping around him. She whispered in the dark, "Oliver, it hurt earlier."
Oliver reached out to touch her, and in the darkness, her light gasps could be heard.
But his mind was elsewhere, replaying what Grace had said. Grace had asked, "If you don't love her, would you let her carry your child?"
Oliver thought he didn't love Sarah.
He liked mature, knowledgeable women, so what was the appeal of Sarah's inexperience?
As he drifted off, Oliver told himself again that he hadn't fallen for Sarah.
Grace got into the car, and her assistant Ivan asked softly, "Ms. Windsor, are we heading to the hotel now?"
Grace wasn't in a good mood. She leaned back against the leather seat and said softly, "I'll stay at the hotel for one night. Book a flight to Vesper City for tomorrow morning."
Ivan was surprised but professional enough not to ask questions. After checking into the hotel, he booked the flight and sent the details to Grace.
Grace had been busy all day and was exhausted.
She checked into a private villa-style hot spring hotel and wanted to soak in the hot spring before bed.
The hot spring was outdoors. As soon as she got in and sighed comfortably, her phone rang.
She picked it up and saw it was Henry calling.
Grace answered, her voice slightly hoarse from the hot spring. "Are Taylor and Avery asleep?"
Henry paused. "Are you soaking in the hot spring?"
Grace smiled faintly, not denying it.
Then Henry quickly asked, "What about your assistant? Is he soaking in the hot spring with you?"
The jealousy was palpable even through the phone.
Grace didn't engage him. She said directly, "Even if I were soaking in the hot spring with him, what does it have to do with you? Henry, aren't we over?"
Henry was infuriated.
Just then, Ivan had something urgent to report to Grace. He knocked on the villa door from outside, "Ms. Windsor, there's an urgent matter that needs your decision."
His voice was loud enough to be heard over the phone.
Grace didn't bother to consider Henry's feelings. She said briefly, "I have something to do, I'll hang up now!"
Henry knew she was soaking in the hot spring and could imagine her going to open the door in a thin bathrobe, which wouldn't cover much!
Henry wished he could fly to Dawnstar immediately and punch Ivan.
After handling the business, Grace no longer felt like soaking in the hot spring. She took a shower and went to bed, turning off her phone to prevent Henry from bothering her again.
She had thought about her relationship with Henry, but the pages of the past had turned.
He still had a place in her heart, but she no longer had that reckless impulse!
Now she wanted to live well on her own and raise her children.
