Chapter 262 Why Are You Still Concerned About My Issues?
Henry carried Grace into the master bedroom.
He set her down at the foot of the bed, stood up straight, shrugged off his jacket, and started unbuttoning his shirt. "Of course, there's no problem! Not only is there no problem, but I actually really like it," he said, his voice dripping with anticipation.
After just three buttons, he couldn't wait any longer.
He leaned over Grace, whispering that he wanted her. Unlike before, he was gentle, having promised to cherish and respect her from now on.
He coaxed her, holding her close and kissing her over and over.
Grace felt a stirring and was touched. However, just as things were intensifying, she realized something else.
Grace awkwardly blurted out, "I'm on my period!"
Henry froze, embarrassment washing over his face. He hadn't expected this, and since Grace hadn't stayed here in a while, there were no feminine products in the villa.
It was pouring rain outside, making a trip to the store impossible.
Grace's voice was low, "I wanna go back."
Henry wouldn't hear of it. He gently stroked her shoulder and said softly, "I'll go downstairs and ask the housekeeper; maybe they have some."
Grace wanted to ask by herself, but Henry was reluctant and gently pressed her shoulder. His gaze was so intense, it made Grace shiver.
Henry went downstairs, and to his surprise, Mira immediately handed him a sanitary pad when she heard.
Henry's handsome face turned red as he hurriedly took the item and went back upstairs.
When he got back, Grace was in the bathroom.
She had taken a shower and changed out of her dress, now wearing a bathrobe. When Henry handed her the pad, his eyes lingered on her graceful body for a long time.
When Grace came out, Henry was not in the bedroom. She figured he must have gone to smoke, feeling awkward after being interrupted.
Grace knew some women would find ways to please their husbands. If she and Henry were a loving couple, she might have done the same, but they weren't.
With the rain pouring outside, leaving was out of the question, so she sat at the vanity and applied her skincare products.
She gently closed her eyes, and the sound of the door opening reached her ears. She knew it was Henry without needing to look.
As soon as Henry entered, he saw her soft body.
He stared for a few seconds, then walked behind her and gently hugged her, kissing her delicate neck. His voice was hoarse, "The Montague Group has some issues; I need to handle them."
Grace turned her head. "What issues?"
Henry gazed at her as he said, "Weren't you going on a date? Why are you still concerned about my issues?"
Grace didn't respond.
Henry continued, "It's about Neil. An employee in the PR department named Abby Rivera is pursuing him. He didn't agree, but my mother found out, and now it's a big deal."
Henry felt complicated.
Because last time at Neil's apartment, he saw Riley's infatuation with Neil. That matter hadn't been resolved, and now there was Abby Rivera.
Abby claimed Neil harassed her, and it escalated to the police, causing a significant impact on the company.
Henry had to head out. After he finished speaking, Grace was a bit surprised. She glanced at the pouring rain outside and hesitated before saying, "Let the driver take you, or I'll go with you."
Even though Henry's leg had healed, she was still worried in this kind of weather.
Henry met her gaze in the mirror and softly said, "Let the driver take me. You're on your period; stay home and rest. You've always been in poor health."
His words were simple but filled with tenderness.
Grace was still worried, but she didn't want to show it too much. So she put on a jacket and followed Henry downstairs, watching the driver get into the car.
The rain was pouring.
The car's rear window was half-lowered, and Henry, sitting inside, gestured for Grace to go back upstairs.
She stood on the steps, quietly watching the car leave.
When she went back inside, she couldn't sleep.
The situation was more complicated than Henry had thought.
When his car arrived at the police station, Celeste was already waiting in the rain with an umbrella. As soon as the car stopped, she opened the door and held the umbrella for Henry.
They talked as they walked.
Celeste briefly explained the situation, "Abby is adamant that Mr. Montague harassed her. The worst part is that their conversation happened in a blind spot of the surveillance cameras, so Mr. Montague can't clear his name."
Celeste paused and added, "I believe Mr. Montague has no motive."
"I know," Henry said calmly as he walked through the rainy night. "He just doesn't know how to reject women."
Celeste fell silent.
When they entered the police station, the officers handling the case were surprised to see Henry from the Montague Group. It was just a dispute between two employees; why did it warrant Henry's attention?
Just as the officer was about to ask, Abby immediately approached Henry, complaining, "Mr. Montague, you have to stand up for me! I'm in my thirties and still unmarried. If Neil harassed me, it would ruin my reputation and hurt my chances of getting married."
Abby thought Henry's personal involvement meant he cared about her.
Indeed, Henry softly asked her, "Do you have a boyfriend?"
Abby was taken aback and then quietly said, "Not at the moment. But Mr. Montague, this matter has a significant impact on me. I don't want to make things difficult for him. If he's willing to make amends, I can consider settling privately. Of course, there are conditions."
Celeste was about to speak. Henry raised his hand, signaling Abby to continue.
Seeing that Henry was on her side, Abby grew bolder and voiced her thoughts, "Actually, I can accept his pursuit. If we get married, he can transfer his apartment to me, and we can forget this unpleasant incident. I will be magnanimous and not hold a grudge."
Henry looked at Neil. Neil appeared hesitant to speak.
Henry chuckled and looked at Abby, seriously saying, "That apartment can't be transferred to you."
Abby was stunned.
Henry sat on a simple wooden sofa, took out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, and an officer immediately lit one for him.
Henry took a puff and slowly exhaled the smoke.
He stared at Abby and, after a few seconds, said, "Because that apartment was bought by me! And if you're interested in him and his apartment, why didn't you find out who he is and whether he's married?"
Abby was completely stunned.
