Chapter 128 I Want to See Juniper!
Grace knew exactly what Juniper was thinking.
Grace, crying and laughing, looked at Juniper and said, "Of course it's worth it. Everything's worth it to you. Get better soon!"
Tears streamed down Juniper's face.
Grace hugged her tightly and whispered, "You have no idea how I've been. I was losing my mind!"
Juniper, though weak, managed to gently hug Grace back.
After Juniper ate a bit, the doctor came to check on her.
Grace stepped out, walked to the end of the long corridor, and quietly looked at the sunlight outside. She finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Thank goodness Juniper woke up and still had the will to live.
But thinking about the child, Grace felt a pang of sadness. Maybe technology could help Juniper have a child in the future, but it wouldn't be the same.
Suddenly, Frank's voice came from behind. "Grace!"
Grace turned around, looked at him for a moment, and asked hoarsely, "What are you doing here?"
Frank held up a file bag, looking somber. "I heard she woke up. I wanted to see her and bring the hotel transfer agreement. Grace, can I see her for a moment?"
Grace tilted her head slightly, suppressing her emotions. "Do you know how hard it was for her to wake up? Frank, if you have any guilt left, don't bother her anymore! She can't handle you, let alone your wife!"
Frank apologized softly, "Grace, just one meeting, to give her the documents."
Grace didn't agree or disagree. She just turned her back on him.
Behind her, Frank murmured, "Thank you, Grace."
Grace's voice choked. "Don't make her cry, don't make her angry, don't mention the child. Leave the documents and go! Frank, remember you have a wife now."
The sunlight shone on Frank, but he felt no warmth. Indeed, he had a wife now.
When Frank entered the room, the doctor had just finished the examination. All vital signs were normal, but Juniper needed at least two to three months of rest.
Juniper softly thanked the doctor but saw Frank at the door.
Her lips trembled, wanting to speak, but no words came out.
The doctors, sent by the Cavendish family, greeted Frank and then left, leaving the room silent.
Frank walked to the bedside, looking down at Juniper with pity and guilt.
Juniper looked up at him.
Her once alluring eyes were now filled with tears. Her lips trembled as she said, "Frank, kneel down. I want to touch you."
Frank choked up slightly and said, "Okay."
But when he knelt down, Juniper bit his neck fiercely, almost tearing off a piece of his flesh, just inches from his artery.
Frank didn't push her away.
He felt the blood flowing down, the warm liquid sliding down his neck.
He thought, besides his blood, there were also Juniper's tears.
He hugged her tightly, repeatedly whispering apologies, saying, "Juniper, I'm sorry." He couldn't say anything else. As Grace said, he had a wife now. For Juniper's sake, he shouldn't bother her anymore.
Their relationship, he thought, was like fighting a losing battle, but it turned out to be a deep wound.
If he could, he would give anything to make amends, but he thought he would never have the chance.
"I'm sorry, Juniper! I'm sorry!" he choked up.
Blood dripped from Juniper's lips.
She wasn't satisfied. She bit his flesh so hard that her hearing aid fell off, but she didn't notice. Her words were broken and twisted, "Frank, my child is gone! Grace's freedom is gone! And you say sorry?"
Frank's heart ached.
He hugged her tightly, not letting her speak or leave. He just wanted to hold her a bit longer.
Juniper didn't want his hotel. She tore up the documents and told him to get out!
She said she didn't love him and he wasn't worth her hatred!
When Frank left the room, he looked lost, his shirt stained with blood—a shocking sight.
Outside the door stood Thalia.
Seeing Frank come out, she sneered, "You're still thinking about Juniper, aren't you? Frank, it wasn't anyone else who ruined her; it was you. If it weren't for you always thinking..."
A slap landed on her face, and then her throat was grabbed, pinned against the opposite wall.
Thalia couldn't breathe, her face turning purple, and she kept hitting Frank's arm, still provoking, "How am I not better than her? I'm the daughter of the Green family, and Juniper is just a high-class escort!"
Frank wanted to kill her.
His eyes reddened, and he slapped her again, "If you touch her again, I swear I'll kill you! I swear!"
Thalia was stunned because she could tell Frank wasn't joking. If something happened to Juniper, he would really kill her.
Thalia was stunned for a long time. Suddenly, she laughed, tears streaming down her face. "Frank, if you really loved her that much, why didn't you marry her in the first place? Why did you marry me?"
Frank didn't even know the reason for it himself.
A week later, Juniper was discharged, and Grace took her to the cemetery.
In the early morning, the grass was dewy, and the air smelled of damp earth.
The unborn child was buried here.
Juniper slowly knelt down, the dirt staining her dress, but she didn't care.
She lovingly caressed the child's tombstone, imagining his birth, and softly said, "I'm sorry, baby. Mommy couldn't protect you. I'm sorry."
Grace stood nearby, tilting her head slightly, trying to hold back her tears.
She felt sorry for Juniper, but at this moment, she didn't want to comfort her. She wanted Juniper to vent completely. If she didn't, she would go crazy.
Grace walked towards the cemetery gate.
The sunlight shone on her, making the tears in her eyes glisten.
At the cemetery gate, a luxurious black car was parked. The window was half down, revealing Henry's handsome and noble face. He was gazing at her with rare tenderness.
Grace stopped and looked at him from a distance.
After a while, Henry opened the car door and softly said, "Get in. I'll take you somewhere."
Grace's heart raced.
But she didn't resist because this was their deal. He saved Juniper, and she chose to go back with him, to have children with him, to spend the rest of her life with him.
In a solemn church, with white doves in the air, Henry personally dressed her in a white wedding dress and veil. He held her hand as they walked through the empty church, revisiting their rushed wedding from years ago.
He kissed her forehead at the altar and placed a new pink diamond wedding ring on her finger.
The ring sparkled brilliantly on her finger.
Henry kissed the back of her hand, his voice low, "For richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part."
After saying that, he looked up at her.
Grace's fingers curled slightly. "Henry, this isn't necessary!"
"I want to do this!" Henry's voice was hoarse. He lifted her veil and gently kissed her. He changed angles, deeply invading her lips, kissing until her legs began to tremble.
This was the most romantic wedding Grace had ever imagined, just like in her dreams.
But she no longer loved Henry.
