Chapter 341 Her Eyes Could No Longer See

[FLASH BACK TO NOW]

Oliver's heart pounded. He grabbed her shoulders and shouted, "Sarah!"

But Sarah stayed calm. She lay down, her voice tired and weak, "I can't see anymore! But I knew this would happen eventually. I've been ready for it. Oliver, don't waste your time. I'm exhausted."

Sarah lay there quietly, tears forming at the corners of her eyes. She thought back to the past, to when they first met.

Back then, Oliver was all charm. Now, he was still handsome and rich, but seeing him didn't make her heart race anymore.

He didn't love her, and she wasn't going to beg.

Tears wet her lifeless eyes, like the brightest stars in the night sky, like the fireworks they had seen that night. But those were all fake.

Sarah gently closed her eyes.

Oliver couldn't handle it. He was waiting for her to get a bit better so he could give her his liver, but now she couldn't see.

He squatted down, half-kneeling in front of her.

Oliver gently wiped away her tears, his voice low, "Since you got sick, have you ever regretted it? Regretted this decision? Why didn't you take a chance? Maybe I really do have feelings for you?"

Sarah didn't answer. Whether he did or didn't, she didn't care anymore.

Next door, Jacob was still crying, calling for his mom.

Olivia held Jacob, trying to comfort him.

At that moment, Oliver's phone rang. It was Zoey, "Mr. Windsor, Dr. Scott agreed to treat Mrs. Windsor, but he wants double the salary, $300 million."

"Agree to it!" Oliver didn't hesitate, "Get him to Brightview Medical Center right away and have him consult with the experts here. Sarah can't see."

Zoey was shocked. Even though she was Oliver's most trusted secretary, she was also a woman and a mom. She felt for Sarah and always tried to help her out.

She whispered, "I'll contact Dr. Scott right away."

That same day, the world-renowned doctor Stephen Scott arrived at Brightview Medical Center with the latest medical equipment to kill cancer cells. This machine was super expensive and not widely available.

Stephen looked over the medical records and told Oliver, "Mr. Windsor, we can kill the cancer cells, but the damage to Mrs. Windsor's organs is irreversible. She'll need transplants. Besides a healthy liver, she also needs a pair of corneas."

Without thinking, Oliver said, "I'll donate one to her."

Stephen smiled, "That wouldn't be perfect! Mr. Windsor, both you and Mrs. Windsor should be perfect. This isn't the immediate concern. Right now, our main task is to kill the cancer cells and save your wife."

Oliver forced a smile.

After a moment, Oliver walked out of the doctor's office and headed towards the ward.

A figure slowly emerged from the corner—it was Lester.

Lester's wife was giving birth at Brightview Medical Center. Unexpectedly, he saw Sarah. Taking the opportunity, he found Olivia and asked her. Olivia first cried, then tearfully told him everything.

It turned out that Sarah had been living so miserably all these years, and that his marriage was all arranged by Oliver.

Sarah was sick and didn't want to live.

Lester looked up and gently closed his eyes, suddenly remembering that summer.

A gentle breeze brushed his face as Sarah sat on the back seat of his bicycle, softly asking him, "Lester, if you liked someone but they didn't like you, if a relationship was full of lies, what should you do?"

Lester suddenly trembled. He slowly squatted down, covering his face with his hands. It was all lies! Wasn't his marriage the same?

He and Sarah, what difference was there? They were both equally pitiful. Lester's fingers trembled as he touched his eyes. His fingers kept shaking. He wasn't that brave either; he was actually scared.

But he had truly loved Sarah.
