Chapter 737 Yes, Elliot, I'm With Someone Now 1
The air in the restaurant had turned faintly tense.
Molly could have denied it. She and Blake had never crossed that line. But they were friends, and Serenity had come all this way. To say no would embarrass Blake. And she would lose him as a friend. Molly did not have many people to lose.
Besides, Elliot had a girlfriend now. Her denial would mean nothing. In her heart, she had already given up on him. Not moved on—given up.
Under the harsh white light, Molly's small face looked pale. She lowered her voice. "Yes. I have a boyfriend. Blake. Mr. Windsor, you may know him."
Elliot's gaze shifted to Blake, then to Serenity. Calm, unreadable. A man like him had no need for polite small talk, especially with the man who was now, apparently, Molly's.
Finally, Elliot inclined his head. "Fell for each other during the commercial shoot?"
The color drained further from Molly's face.
When she and Blake had filmed that ad, she had still been with Elliot. But she didn't deny it. In his eyes, she was already a liar. Denial or not—it made no difference. Her silence was as good as an admission.
Elliot's eyes darkened. He asked nothing more, walking to the table he had reserved. He looked at Diana. "Are you coming, or are you too busy texting someone?"
Diana crossed the room, but as she passed Molly, she leaned in and murmured, "Our whole family knows who you are. Elliot's been acting strange twice because of you. My dad even booked him an appointment with Taylor."
Molly said nothing.
By now, Serenity understood perfectly. Blake had managed to get involved with a very important man's ex.
She wasn't sure whether to admire Blake's nerve or worry for him. Still, Blake had always been a steady child. Serenity decided the young could sort out their own affairs.
Molly had never met Diana before.
Diana gave her a quick wink. "Elliot's crazy about you."
Across the table, Elliot's expression darkened. "Diana, silence is an option."
Diana, the unapologetic favorite of the family, didn't so much as flinch. A lazy, almost teasing hum slipped from her lips.
Elliot looked ready to ship her back home on the next flight.
Serenity glanced at Blake and Molly. "This Ms. Windsor is rather charming."
Molly didn't respond.
Blake settled into his seat, scanning the menu. His expression was calm, but his mind was elsewhere.
He had been thinking about leaving the entertainment industry even before he started seeing Molly.
Back then, Elliot's possessiveness had been intense—he couldn't imagine Elliot staying indifferent if Molly were with another man. And now Elliot was, as far as Blake knew, single.
He didn't want Molly. But he couldn't forget her.
The meal was uncomfortable for everyone.
Still, Molly kept her manners. Serenity had come a long way to see her; she wouldn't let her leave disappointed. She spoke when needed, smiled when it was polite, and even made sure Serenity felt included.
Her soft voice drifted to Elliot's ears now and then.
Under the crystal chandelier, Elliot's face was unreadable. But each time her voice reached him, memories of their past—every moment of closeness—came flooding back like a tide.
