Chapter 100 The skill of understanding people

"Sir, isn't this a bit inappropriate? Are you saying you're not buying any of them?" Dorothy asked hesitantly, suddenly looking stunned.

The next moment, Dorothy's eyes widened, snapping out of her fairy tale world.

'This brat, is he messing with me?' she thought; her face instantly turned sour.

"It's not that these cars are bad, but they're just lame. Do you have anything more tasteful, more textured, something special, preferably unique? Of course, price is not an issue!" Elbert laughed.

"No!" Dorothy's eyebrows furrowed together.

'Who is this guy? What kind of request is that? If you can't afford it, just say so! They even gave you a chance! And you're still so pretentious,' she exclaimed inwardly.

"Sir, you've seen almost all the brands in the showroom! If you're still not satisfied, please take a look elsewhere! I have other matters to attend to; suit yourself!" Dorothy said, getting up and turning away angrily. But before she could take two steps, she bumped into a broad chest!

"Mr. King!" Dorothy looked at the handsome man in front of her with a face full of panic, a bit at a loss.

The man looked at Dorothy with a reproachful expression and shook his head, "Go get a glass of coffee; I'll take care of this customer!"

With that, the handsome man walked over to Elbert with a smile. "Mr. Perry, hello, I'm Gregory King, the sales manager of this store. I heard you're looking for a special car. I can take you to our VIP showroom, where we have a few limited-edition supercars that might catch your eye."

This man named Gregory was elegant and courteous, unlike Dorothy's worldly demeanor. He looked at Elbert with eyes full of respect.

"Sure, thank you!" Elbert nodded slightly, also feeling quite appreciative.

To Elbert, this man named Gregory was clearly different! His eyes showed competence, yet he was humble. Being a sales manager in a giant enterprise like the Four-Dimensional Sales Center was quite a high position. He looked to be about thirty years old. He probably came from a poor background and worked his way up to his current achievements!

Such people usually understood the rules of the world the best. They knew not to judge people by appearances, and humility was the safest approach. They had experienced life's ups and downs. They had seen all kinds of people, so their vision was unique.

"Mr. Perry, shall we go?" Gregory immediately got up and extended his hand to welcome him. As the two of them walked through the large sales center, heading towards the VIP room, a car on the central platform of the third floor caught Elbert's eye.

Gregory was slightly stunned, then smiled. "Mr. Perry, you have a good eye. This is a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS454! It's recognized as the most classic muscle car of the '70s in Europe! Equipped with a 7.4L V8 engine! Its sole mission is to beat anything that can generate speed on a straight line!"

Gregory shook his head regretfully. "However, it's an antique car we use for display, and it's basically not for sale."

"A mission to beat everything? I like that concept!" Elbert nodded slightly, gazing at the old muscle car.

The car's paint was as shiny as new. Black paint, black rims, and even the headlights had black tints! The whole car looked like a black panther lying in wait, like a dark meteor, both restrained and dazzling!

Through its sharp lines, you could tell the car's inner 'soul' was extremely arrogant, as if it would suddenly awaken, roar to life, and leave everyone in dust!

Elbert nodded in satisfaction. "We all know taste is very subjective; I am different from most people; I don't like those flashy Bentleys or Lamborghinis. There's no need to conform too much to the masses nor to act humbly like dust."

He continued, "One should live like this car, having experienced the vicissitudes of life, shedding all impatience, quietly observing everything with no emotional fluctuations, but not easily seen through. When it moves, it must roar, with an overwhelming momentum, crushing everything, making a stunning impact!"

Gregory nodded repeatedly upon hearing this. These words, indeed, had a unique and unconventional charm!

Elbert then said, "You just said, 'basically not for sale,' right? Please explain how it can be sold to me."

Gregory smiled bitterly. "Mr. Perry, this might not be easy. You need to go through some special applications, and such special applications are only available to our top-tier VIPs. As for that top-tier VIP, you need to spend at least $30 million in our store."

Elbert nodded calmly, "The civilian helicopter we passed by earlier—it's a Bell-210, right? How much is it?"

Gregory's smile became even more bitter! There was indeed a civilian helicopter for sale in the showroom. But it was just a prop used by the owner to showcase the store's high-end status. It had been on display for a year with almost no inquiries!

"Sir, that is indeed a Bell-210, and it's a luxury civilian version, priced at $53.2 million."

"Alright, it's settled then." Elbert nodded slightly.

Gregory was slightly stunned. "Mr. Perry, settled on what?"

Elbert took out a card. "The helicopter, the car, and most importantly, the car."

Gregory was suddenly stunned, his face full of amazement! But within ten seconds, he quickly regained his composure, took the card with both hands, and said, "Sir, the car's paperwork is easy to handle, but for the helicopter, it must have an airworthiness certificate and a radio license. Also, the helicopter must be registered under a legitimate company to apply for flight routes. The most important thing is, do you have a helipad?"

Elbert thought for a moment. "You handle the paperwork. As for the company, register it under Creator. The helipad is on the top floor of Skyrise Tower. That helipad looks pretty empty anyway, so just park it there!"

'Creator?' Gregory thought. 'The parent company of the Gemini app?'

Gregory could no longer hide his astonishment!

He knew the Creator company was the most promising in Veridiania this year! Experts speculated that Creator Company's core technology was 60 years ahead of the international level! It wouldn't be long before they stepped out of Veridiania and dominated the world!

'Although the Creator Company was founded not long ago, its external valuation has already exceeded billions! As an executive, Mr. Perry would be worth a billion even with just 1% of the shares!' Gregory exclaimed internally.

After pondering for a while, Gregory snapped back to reality.

"Sir, rest assured, I will handle all the purchasing procedures with utmost effort!" he promised.

One hour later, at the entrance of the Four-Dimensional Auto Sales Center, nearly 70 salespeople lined up neatly on both sides. Among them was Gregory, who had a respectful face, and Dorothy, who had a complicated expression.

When the young man in white slowly approached, everyone bowed in unison and shouted, "We look forward to your next visit, Mr. Perry!"

Elbert nodded in acknowledgment and walked out the door! The Chevrolet SS454 needed an application, and the helicopter couldn't be flown away casually. Elbert declined the Four-Dimensional's courtesy car and chose to stroll down Wavehaven Street.

Inside the Four-Dimensional Sales Center, "Mr. King, that was impressive, closing a deal worth over $50 million in one go!"

"Yeah, this isn't just breaking records; it's creating a new high!"

"Yeah, Mr. King is so lucky. Who could tell that handsome guy was so wealthy!"

With a face full of regret, Dorothy asked Gregory, "Mr. King, how did you figure it out? Did you know some inside information?"

Gregory sighed, looking respectfully at Elbert's departing figure. "It's not that I'm lucky; it's that you all judge people by appearances. You all think that only those who are arrogant and domineering are wealthy big clients! That's a huge mistake!

"I'm telling you, true tycoons are low-key and reserved! Even if they have extraordinary status, they won't be arrogant. They have a broad vision and won't show off! No matter who they face, as long as you are humble and polite, they will treat you with respect!

"You can tell they are different by their aura! They handle things calmly and with ease! But if you look closely, you'll find that they don't care about others' opinions! Nor do they care about external material things like clothing or the environment!

"Even if they are dressed in rags, standing among a group of well-dressed people, they are still the most noticeable! And Mr. Perry is such a person! I could feel it!" Speaking of this, Gregory's eyes sparkled. "And from the moment he entered, I was very sure!"

The surrounding salespeople were stunned! Faced with their young and promising sales manager and his ability to read people, Dorothy indeed felt inferior!

A few hundred meters down the street, Elbert also 'heard' everything Gregory said with Robert's help. He smiled and nodded slightly.

Then, finding Gregory's name in his phone contacts, he added a note with two words to it.

"Talented, humble!"
