Chapter 20 Am I the Legendary Hero

In front of Lori's office door.

A beautiful woman in a black bodycon skirt was already waiting at the door.

This woman was about 30 years old, with a hot figure, wavy burgundy hair, and bold red lips in a seductive style—a sexy stunner!

"Miss Brown, good morning! Today's documents are already on your desk."

The hot girl bowed slightly, her chest heaving, revealing a hint of cleavage.

Lori nodded and said, "Got it, Carol. Please schedule a meeting with the president of Elysium Care Center for me."

"Okay, Miss Brown... huh?"

The hot girl, Carol, suddenly noticed Elbert following Lori.

Her expression froze for a moment.

'What a handsome young man!' she exclaimed inwardly.

"And who is this?"

Carol Wheeler, with girlish fantasies, stared directly at Elbert and asked.

Lori, with her back turned, said, "My driver, Elbert!"

'So, he's Miss Brown's driver, not her boyfriend!'

'What a handsome driver!'

'That physique, that face.'

'His skin is even tanned than mine!'

'A man not to be missed!'

While Carol was thinking of these, her heart started racing!

"Hey, you can't disturb Miss Brown at work. Come with me and wait in my office for Miss Brown!"

Carol grabbed Elbert's arm and pulled him into a nearby office.

[Carol, female, 32 years old;

Single;

Lori's personal secretary, extremely competent;

Frequently seen in nightclubs and bars;

Nicknamed 'Social Butterfly' in the company!]

Along with the information, there were several pictures that popped up in front of his right eye.

All were of Carol partying.

She was wearing a super short bodycon skirt, black stockings, a crop top, and crystal high heels, holding onto a pole in a bar, her hips slightly raised.

There was also a picture of her sitting on a chair, legs spread, lightly biting her lip.

Elbert took a deep breath.

'She was indeed sexy!' he smiled.

"Robert, you've improved this time. Thanks for not giving me the information on the measurements, but these provocative photos—better not send them in the future!"

"Alright." Robert gave off a funny sound.

After sitting down, Elbert realized that the room he was in was connected to Lori's office, separated only by a layer of transparent glass.

Lori was sitting at her desk, dealing with a pile of documents.

"Hey, I know you like her, but a goddess like Miss Brown is out of your league."

Carol threw a flirtatious glance at Elbert and said with a smile, "But you can have fun with me. Aren't my legs beautiful?"

As she spoke, she crossed her legs in the other direction, turning to face Elbert.

He had to admit, Carol's legs were indeed beautiful—long, white, and without a trace of fat!

But her skirt was too short, almost revealing too much!

Elbert nodded slightly, not saying a word.

In fact, his heart was pounding!

"Handsome, how about my figure? Isn't it nice?"

Carol continued, puffing out her chest, which was indeed high and very tempting.

Elbert just kept nodding, trying his best to shift his gaze back to Lori.

"Let's add each other on Facebook. It'll be easier to communicate for work later, right?"

Carol said, taking Elbert's phone and adding him as a friend!

"By the way, let me tell you a secret. Miss Brown already has a crush!"

Elbert became interested and turned his head, "That's interesting. Who is it?"

Carol gave a seductive smile and actually sat on the desk in front of Elbert, her white legs closed, the scent intoxicating.

"I don't know his name either, but in Miss Brown's heart, he's a true hero!"

Carol flicked her wavy hair and continued. "It's said that three years ago, Miss Brown encountered some thugs, and a man stepped in to save her. Although Miss Brown has never been able to find him since. He was truly a hero in his heart."

"Look."

Carol discreetly pointed to the metal ballpoint pen in Lori's hand. "That pen was dropped by the hero at the scene. Miss Brown holds it every day and cherishes it!"

"What?"

Elbert finally realized why that pen seemed so familiar!

It was the very pen he loved during his school days.

But that pen had been lost for a long time!

'Lori picked it up and has been keeping it all this time?' he pondered.

Elbert suddenly remembered that whenever Lori was nervous, she would take out that pen and keep pressing it!

'She always thought of me as a hero!'

In an instant, Elbert felt a huge pressure on his shoulders!

"Miss Brown actually has it pretty tough. Our department's performance hasn't been great lately. She's under pressure from the company's veterans above and has many shareholders eyeing her position below. The challenges are immense, and she works very hard, always frowning when she arrives at the office!"

Carol sighed and then giggled again, "So, Miss Brown doesn't have time for romance right now and won't accept anyone. She's turned down countless young talents over the years!"

"So, you should give up on that idea!"

"Come, I like you, my warm embrace can accept you!"

Carol even started to stroke Elbert's leg!

For some reason, Lori seemed to sense something and turned to look at Elbert.

"Carol, stay away from Elbert and get back to work!"

"Okay."

Carol had to get up and leave, but not before secretly signaling Elbert to "call me."

Elbert took a deep breath.

'I can't quite figure Lori out!'

'And Carol is so bold!'

Not until his thought finished did a voice interrupt him.

Robert said, "Elbert, there's something strange about Lori's office!"

"What?"

Elbert instantly tensed up, ready to act at any moment!

"Don't be nervous; this strangeness is actually a bit funny!"

The next moment, several red circles appeared in Elbert's field of vision.

The first circle highlighted three red vases on the table opposite Lori.

"These are like three incense sticks in front of a grave!"

The second circle highlighted a landscape painting on the back wall.

"This is like a tombstone!"

The remaining two circles highlighted two spherical sculptures on either side of Lori's room.

"These are like tomb sculptures!"

"And Lori is the person in the grave!"

"Based on my analysis, this is a human folk curse formation called the 'Doomweaver's Veil Array!'"

"Well..."

Then Robert laughed. "You humans are so strange, believing in such superstitious things!"

Elbert's expression relaxed upon hearing this.

"So, this so-called 'Doomweaver's Veil Array' is completely ineffective?"

Robert replied, "I'm very sure. There's no scientific basis for it; it's all just legend!"

At this moment, Elbert didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

'Who did Lori offend this time?'

'Someone even tampered with her office?'

'And what 'Doomweaver's Veil Array'?'

'How much must they hate her?'

'Alright, I guess I'll have to be the good guy to the end!'

He made up his mind.
