Chapter 366 Next Time, Goodbye
Quentin turned around, his silhouette heavy with sadness.
He looked up, scanning the entire back wall of the Lab Graveyard, searching for a window.
With a long, wistful sigh, he muttered, "Paul Three, even though I'm hurt, I'm still a B7-level expert. Those green giants outside..."
"They're all C6! And their movements are so coordinated, it's obvious they've had a lot of training. Together, their combined strength could hit C8, maybe even C9!"
"My strength might be lacking, but my observational skills are top-notch. I admit it, I'm still a ways off from being the best in the world. I probably need another two months of training!"
Quentin peered through a crack in the door, catching a glimpse of the towering figures outside, tears welling up in his eyes. "Paul Three, goodbye."
Elbert delivered a swift chop to Quentin's neck.
Quentin collapsed, unconscious.
A flash of black light from Elbert's sleeve transformed into a short black dagger as he approached the unconscious Quentin. "Quentin, always boasting. Knowing me..."
"You must be blessed by God!"
With a swift motion, the black light flashed...
Elbert cut through the bandages on Quentin's body!
Then, a small dog named Coco grabbed a corner of a cloth with its mouth and pulled it back!
Revealing a towering piece of equipment beneath the cloth!
It was a metal chamber, over two people tall!
At its top, a fifth-tier cube floated in mid-air, gently rotating, crystal clear!
Elbert placed Quentin on the reclining chair inside.
He slowly backed out, his mind focused!
The machine started up, the metal chamber slowly closing. Various tendrils and sensors extended from within, connecting to Quentin's body.
In the next moment, the chamber began to glow and operate, extracting blood, analyzing data, matching the cube, preparing the serum, calculating the optimal solution...
On the display screen above, Quentin's DNA model appeared, with about 1%-2% of it highlighted in gold.
Robert Williams: "Quentin's potential isn't bad, at least 0.6% of yours!"
Elbert nodded slightly and moved to the back of the Lab Graveyard.
He took out his phone and initiated a video call—The Messenger.
His right eye glowed purple as he spoke softly into the video, "This is Paul Five!"
Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, seven hours had passed!
The eastern sky was already beginning to brighten!
Elbert slowly emerged from the back of the Lab Graveyard, his right eye's purple glow gradually fading!
He had been communicating with the other end of the video for several hours!
Above the large metal chamber where Quentin lay, a progress bar flashing blue had reached 99.8%!
99.9%...
100%...
The lights on the machine stopped flashing, and the fifth-tier cube vanished into thin air!
Everything fell silent!
Elbert squinted his eyes!
The next moment, a burst of maniacal laughter echoed!
"I've become stronger!"
Inside the chamber, Quentin had already risen, his eyes gleaming, fists clenched, feeling the power coursing through his body!
"This feeling!"
"It's been so long!"
As a cloud of white mist dissipated, the chamber door slowly opened!
Quentin stepped out, eyes wide open!
He was still in his baseball uniform, but his muscles were much more defined than before!
His arms and legs now stretched his clothes tight!
Quentin's chest heaved with excitement!
He looked at his fists, overjoyed!
"Paul Three, my injuries are healed!"
"And I've become stronger!"
"I feel like my strength has reached an unprecedented level, I could punch through a mountain!"
"My speed... I'm trying to hold back, but if I let loose, I'd be gone in a flash!"
"And my perception, I can sense every detail now!"
"I can feel the movement of your muscles, you're about to nod and then smirk!"
"I'm invincible, no one can defeat me!"
"This is amazing!"
"What level am I now?"
Quentin was beyond excited, rambling incoherently!
"Level?"
Elbert frowned slightly, "Your current strength doesn't fit any existing standards for modified humans!"
Elbert hesitated, "Maybe D? E? Or F?"
Quentin's eyes widened in shock, "Really? My strength can't even be measured anymore?"
Elbert smirked, "Why don't you test it against the 283 warriors outside and find out?"
Gulp...
Quentin felt a sudden pang of anxiety, "Them, 283 punches... that might be a bit tough. I might accidentally hurt them. How about we do it another day? I'll just run for now?"
Elbert chuckled, "You, the so-called strongest in the universe, scared? Come with me, don't keep the warriors waiting!"
Quentin scratched his head, "If I can't beat them, can I run?"
Then Quentin hid behind Elbert, nervously approaching the door.
As they opened it, both were stunned!
Outside the Lab Graveyard, it was completely empty, not a soul in sight!
On the ground, an untouched takeout order was neatly arranged in a square!
Elbert was puzzled!
He walked over and found a note on top of the takeout.
'Mr. Perry, apologies! ApexGuardians had to leave without notice! General Jeffery suddenly ordered an emergency assembly! Orders are orders, we'll meet again another day! —ApexGuardians, 283 warriors!'
Elbert was slightly taken aback, truly impressed by the Veridiania military spirit!
Orders come first, everything else follows!
Quentin, seeing the note, visibly relaxed!
But there was another line of scribbled text at the bottom of the note.
'P.S.: Quentin, you coward, wait for me. When I finish my mission, I'll come back and crush you, and we'll see who's really the strongest! —From Red Brow. (Mr. Perry, say hi to Autumn for me. Here's a gift I prepared for her.)'
Elbert glanced over and saw a small box next to the note, containing a beautiful butterfly specimen.
It must have come from the jungle at the border.
Elbert was slightly moved.
Even the toughest have a soft side!
