Chapter 297 The Beastly Collection

Commander Wyatt, watching from a far-off outpost, saw everything unfold.

He was totally floored!

This guy was the leader of Perseus? He was a total beast.

Those two blocking the way supposed to be top-tier modified humans sent to nab them. But they proved to be astonishingly feeble, utterly incapable of any resistance.

Was this the guy Elbert had been waiting for? The outcome remained highly uncertain!

Commander Wyatt felt a wave of dread. If Elbert couldn't stop him, Harper was toast too!

Evalia's modified forces would be done for.

Commander Wyatt yelled, "Get the heavy snipers ready, take him out from a distance, we gotta stop him!"

By now, the head in Shepherd's hand was a bloody mess.

His hands were drenched in blood and brain matter. His rage was off the charts.

He looked up, sniffed the air, and locked onto a scent.

In the next second, he launched himself off the ground.

He bolted away, kicking up a cloud of dust, and in no time, his massive frame had covered three hundred feet.

Commander Wyatt at the observation post was stunned.

His view kept flipping between the high-powered binoculars and reality.

'Where did he go? Damn it!' Commander Wyatt thought.

"Everyone move, advance 2 miles, and set up defenses near the Connor house! Find a chance and take Shepherd out," he ordered.

In the second-floor bedroom of the Connor house, Elbert was still facing Harper.

"Veridiania warrior, it doesn't matter if you disagree now. I've made up my mind, no matter where you go, I will follow and be with you," Harper said as she slowly removed the light veil from her body.

Elbert blushed. Inexplicably, he found himself entangled! It was so knotty!

Suddenly, he sensed a powerful aura rushing from afar.

Elbert felt like he'd been given a break, "Hold on, saint, an enemy is coming, I must go and face them, I might even die at their hands."

Shepherd leaped from hundreds of feet away, landing right in the small courtyard of the Connor house.

His face was fierce. "Who killed my hunting dogs?"

Elbert, having escaped from Harper, jumped out of the second-floor window.

His heart was racing. This seductive temptation was scarier than any enemy.

Looking at the massive, fanged Shepherd in front of him, who seemed ready to tear him apart, Elbert felt oddly relaxed, even finding him kinda cute.

"So, you're from Veridiania. I never thought Veridiania had someone as skilled as you. I'm gonna kill you here to avenge my dogs, and it would make it easier to attack Veridiania in the future," Shepherd shouted.

Shepherd panted heavily, his eyes bloodshot, a low beastly growl coming from his throat.

Robert Williams' voice suddenly came through, "This guy is interesting, his body must be fused with multiple animal genes! It includes the speed of a cheetah, the strength of an elephant, the ferocity of a grizzly bear, and the sense of smell of a dog. A complete beast hybrid!"

"Elbert, make sure to get some of his blood samples, which may help us integrate B+ modified human abilities!" Robert Williams continued.

Elbert nodded slightly. But he was a bit distracted.

He was thinking about how to dodge Harper's advances.

"Got any other members in your crew?" Elbert suddenly asked.

Shepherd's face twisted with rage. "How dare you mock me? So what if we're down to just me? After I kill you, I'll rise again!"

Elbert gave a slight nod.

"You mentioned you wanted to attack Veridiania?" Elbert asked again.

"That's right. Veridiania's next on my list! I'll use it as my stepping stone. And you'll be the ant crushed beneath it, shattered to pieces, unnoticed by anyone," Shepherd shouted, seething with anger.

"Good, then you," Elbert said, glancing at Harper who was watching from the window, then suddenly lowered his voice. "Then you can leave your life here!"

"Arrogant ant," Shepherd roared, charging forward, his fist the size of a sandbag aimed straight at Elbert.

But Elbert kept retreating, constantly dodging Shepherd's punches and kicks, occasionally taking a hit.

"You're powerful. I can't quite match you," Elbert shouted.

"Of course!" Shepherd grew even more ferocious.

His fists swung like pendulums, constantly aiming at Elbert.

In the distance, Commander Wyatt arrived with his men.

The snipers were in position, looking for a chance to shoot.

As expected, Mr. Perry was no match for the leader of Perseus.

Amidst the relentless flurry of punches, Elbert's voice came through again. "Indeed, there are many hidden masters in the world."

But Shepherd felt something was off, sweat dripping from his forehead.

Every time it seemed he could kill this Veridiania guy, but he always managed to dodge easily. Was he even pretending to be weak? Something was definitely off.

Under Shepherd's fierce assault, Elbert finally got cornered, blocking Harper's view.

Elbert's body suddenly moved strangely, quickly retreating several feet.

Shepherd saw a blur, and his opponent disappeared.

He was momentarily stunned, realizing he had to take Elbert seriously.

Was this Veridiania guy hiding his strength?

Elbert, with his hands behind his back, said loudly, "You're too powerful, I have to use my last-ditch move. We'll both be injured, and I'll need a long rest to recover. I won't be able to do anything then."

Shepherd's brow furrowed instantly. That man was going to use a killing move.

He immediately crouched, entering a defensive stance, his bones and muscles creaking.

As Elbert stomped his foot, the ground quickly shook.

Then he threw a punch, shattering a pillar of an old, dilapidated house nearby.

The house, long in disrepair, wobbled and collapsed with a crash.

Then Elbert turned back and gave Shepherd a strange smile. Inexplicably, a chill enveloped Shepherd's entire body.

In the next moment, Elbert suddenly turned and ran away without looking back.

Shepherd's face turned from red to purple. "You liar, pretending to be strong! Trying to run, I won't give you the chance!"

Suddenly, just as Shepherd was about to give chase, he felt a chill in his chest.

A thin, black light as fine as a cicada's wing flew out from his chest.

The black light crossed several hundred feet, returning to Elbert's sleeve.

As he ran, Elbert controlled 'none' to wrap a bit of blood on its surface.

Shepherd was indisbelief.

He tried to move his feet, but his strength was rapidly draining away.

What was happening?

Shepherd, with his arm slightly outstretched, his eyes rolled back, and he fell.

He never figured out Elbert's true strength until he died.
