Chapter 413 Express Delivery
Elbert's mind was a whirlwind of images.
A dozen figured he couldn't shake off.
His chest felt like it had been pierced.
Elbert was a bit out of it. "Hey, Robert, do you think I can change the future?"
"Why not?"
"No one's proven you can't change what's already set in stone!"
"Actually, there are tons of theories that say the future's full of surprises!"
"Like the grandfather paradox, parallel universes, Schrödinger's cat!"
Robert could see Elbert was stressed and tried to lift his spirits.
"Robert, we're running out of time!"
Elbert paused for a moment, then suddenly picked up the pace.
On the way, he reached out to Melissa!
Melissa was thrilled!
Elbert kept it short, telling her to kick off the smart entity project right away, open all Wavehaven pilot sites within three days, and quickly gather insights, train talent, and expand nationwide!
Then, Elbert got in touch with Briana!
He sent her a new set of data metrics.
It was the threshold for the 6th and even 7th level Rubik's Cube!
After that, Elbert gave the Punishers an order: head back to Phantom Island and lay low for now!
The Punishers were suddenly buzzing with excitement!
When everyone asked Elbert when he'd be back, he didn't answer.
In the Lab Graveyard.
A young boy sat on the heavily modified SS454, deep in thought.
Ten days had gone by, and there was no sign of Violent Bear.
He was super anxious, ready to run away from home, search the world, and find him, dead or alive.
"You little punk, messing with my car!"
Suddenly, a familiar, angry voice boomed from the speakers!
The boy looked up, eyes wide, hope sparking in them!
"You'll regret it!"
The voice continued from the speakers. "The ride I'm bringing back will blow your mind, but even if you throw a fit, I won't let you touch it!"
Then the speakers went silent, but the boy was filled with excitement, tears welling up in his eyes!
That voice, he'd know it anywhere!
"Violent Bear."
"You really are a turtle, with a shell so thick even a meteor can't hurt you!"
He muttered, pouting.
The speakers crackled again, "You little punk, who are you calling names, want a beating?"
The boy laughed even harder!
One day later.
At the Reincarnation Temple.
Marcus stood in front of his main house, bandages wrapped around his chest and arms.
Watching his disciples clear the ruins of the grass house, side rooms, main house, and temple gate.
The pain in his heart was ten times worse than the injuries on his body.
His eyes were constantly brimming with tears.
I only took you in for ten days, just ten days!
The losses I've suffered are a bit much, though you did save my life, but the interest is way too high!
At the temple gate, a line of people in black suits, wearing white gloves, looking like butlers, politely knocked on the fallen temple door.
The group was drenched in sweat after climbing the mountain, each one looking worn out!
"Who's Mr. Marcus? We got a delivery for you!"
Marcus was floored!
For me?
A delivery?
No way!
"That's me!"
Four martial monks came over, helping the old man as he slowly made his way forward.
The suited butlers all bowed in sync!
The leader held out a reddish-brown leather box with both hands.
"Mr. Marcus Graham, we're from Cecil Jewelry Company. This is a custom gift from Mr. Perry for you. Please accept it."
Marcus was taken aback, his master really thought of everything!
He shakily opened the box.
And then a dazzling light turned his old face a golden yellow!
A few pure white beams of light made Marcus squint over and over!
Marcus felt like he was dreaming, holding the item with both hands!
Then his facial muscles twitched, his throat tightened.
This... this...
In the sunlight, the item in his hands was blindingly radiant!
It was a radio made of gold!
And the three knobs were diamond-sized pigeon eggs!
Marcus was speechless!
"Mr. Graham, this is a pure gold radio custom-made by Mr. Perry for you, with 53-carat South African white diamonds on it."
The lead butler bowed slightly.
Marcus's face turned red, his blood pressure spiking, "Are you sure this is gold and diamonds?"
"Absolutely."
The lead butler smiled, "Company policy states that all custom jewelry valued over 100 million dollars must be personally delivered by our team."
"100 million dollars?"
Marcus's eyes rolled back, and he fainted into the arms of the four martial monks!
The lead butler smiled slightly and signaled to his team.
Several butlers immediately pulled out oxygen tanks, AEDs, and nitroglycerin, rushing forward.
The butler said to the four martial monks, "Don't worry, I see this all the time, just a quick rescue."
Moments later.
Marcus came to, clutching the golden radio, sobbing, "Is this what it feels like to be rich?"
In the distance, several large helicopters flew in, carrying various construction equipment below!
An engineer-looking person approached Marcus.
"Hello!"
"We're from Veridiania First Construction Group, sent by Paul Five to renovate and restore this temple!"
Paul Five?
The old man, clutching the golden radio tightly, twitched at the corners of his mouth.
Then the old man fainted again.
Meanwhile, Rachel found the copper bell in the upper room where Elbert had stayed.
Inside the bell was a small chip taken from a phone, gently blinking.
Beside it was a note: [In times of need, gratitude should be multiplied! Elbert is grateful to Ms. Nguyen for her care. If you ever face a problem you can't solve, just ring the bell!]
Rachel's face showed a touched smile.
But she shook her head.
Elbert was just being polite.
However, if there's a problem I can't solve, Elbert, you might not be able to help either...
