Chapter 467 Underwater Conspiracy
                    Norden Trench.
The bottom of the Pacific Ocean.
A colossal underwater chasm, V-shaped, plunging over 11 miles deep!
This is the deepest known part of the ocean on Earth!
Even the world's tallest mountain could easily fit into this pitch-black abyss!
The Celestial Pioneer arrived.
Elbert gazed at the vast blue sea below, his mind filled with questions.
Another bizarre place!
Elbert leaped from several dozen feet in the air, diving into the deep sea like a torpedo!
Heading towards the coordinates!
Beneath the layers of water, sunlight was scarce.
He dove to the edge of the trench.
The pressure of the surrounding water made Elbert's skin feel slightly stiff.
At this moment, he was 3,000 feet underwater. A regular person would have already been crushed!
Strange underwater rocks and plankton filled his view.
Occasionally, glowing jellyfish floated by, adding a serene yet magnificent touch to the underwater landscape.
The satellite signal receiver was already 15,000 feet deep into the Norden Trench!
Elbert knew the water pressure there was beyond what any human could withstand.
Building structures here would be nearly impossible!
Why was the Apocalypse Association going to such great lengths?
Elbert's mind raced with questions as he sped through the water, quickly reaching the coordinates!
He swam over a massive underwater rock.
Ahead, among the dense corals, a series of green lights flickered on and off!
Elbert squinted, realizing there were dozens of refrigerator-sized devices, all connected by various cables!
The green lights were indicator lights on the devices!
As Elbert approached, he was shocked!
Those devices were half-disassembled bombs!
Not only were these bombs connected by cables, but they were also activated!
The screens displayed a countdown: 38:45:00.
"OMG!"
Robert: "These aren't just any bombs. Those two are 50-kiloton neutron bombs! Those two are plutonium fission bombs! And that one is a Valhalla Tsar Bomb from the 1990s, also an atomic bomb!"
"Let me count... 1, 2, 3..."
"Wow, there are 11 nuclear weapons here!"
"From different countries, different eras. Some of these should be in museums!"
Nuclear bombs?
Elbert was stunned!
Based on the timing, the previous satellite signal must have activated these weapons!
"The Apocalypse Association really wants to wipe out humanity!"
Robert's voice was filled with fear, "This is the Norden Trench, a buffer zone for the Earth's tectonic plates!"
"Detonating so many nuclear bombs here would create a massive shockwave, making the ocean floor extremely unstable. The resulting tsunami could drown hundreds of coastal cities!"
"The tectonic plates would become hyperactive, causing global-scale 9.0 earthquakes!"
"Then there'd be volcanic eruptions, freshwater mixing with sulfur compounds, plants dying off, and humans wouldn't stand a chance!"
"This is all meticulously calculated. The Apocalypse Association wants to throw the entire planet off balance!"
"How ruthless!"
Elbert was taken aback.
The sudden revelation was hard to accept!
Elbert scanned the area. The Apocalypse Association had completely withdrawn, leaving no trace!
In the distance, a submarine lay crushed by the immense water pressure!
The submarine bore the name: Black Shark.
"That's Victoria's decommissioned submarine!"
Robert: "This submarine was once a star vessel, but Victoria erased all its records a month ago. It must have been stolen!"
Elbert was increasingly astonished.
How long had the Apocalypse Association been planning this?
Victoria was ruthless, but not insane enough to want to destroy the world.
This had to be the work of the Apocalypse Association!
They could manipulate even the world's superpowers!
"Robert, how can we disarm these nuclear bombs?"
Elbert closely examined the devices, noticing that many core components were still slightly glowing, emitting heat even in the cold deep sea!
"I'm afraid it's not that simple."
Robert appeared, also scrutinizing the devices, "The heavy molecules in these weapons are extremely active. Neutrons are constantly approaching the atomic nuclei, likely pre-triggered!"
"This reaction is irreversible. Even if we disarm the detonators, the nuclear material will reach critical mass in 40 hours, causing a neutron bombardment and a direct explosion!"
Elbert's brow furrowed deeper.
The Apocalypse Association had planned everything meticulously, leaving no loose ends!
Even if these nuclear bombs were transported to different parts of the world.
The 11 mushroom clouds that would rise would cause massive radiation and electromagnetic pulse damage, leading to a global catastrophe!
Elbert analyzed the data on the devices.
Information and labels continuously appeared.
'Once ignited, the devices cause simultaneous explosions of the explosive blocks, creating immense pressure towards the center, rapidly merging the sub-critical nuclear materials into a supercritical state.'
Elbert's eyes gleamed, "Robert, since the nuclear material in these weapons is stored in separate blocks..."
"Elbert, I know what you're thinking!"
"These aren't like nuclear reactors that decay slowly. They explode instantly!"
"Take the neutron bomb here, for example. A small piece of nuclear material, if fully fused, has the energy equivalent to 5 tons of TNT!"
Elbert's eyes narrowed.
"Your survival probability at close range is less than 13%!"
Robert shook his head repeatedly, "Elbert, your body can't handle it."
"13% is high enough!"
Elbert nodded slightly, his eyes shining with determination, "Let's try one first."
