Chapter 21 A Long-Planned Scheme
"Miss Brown, these two vases are quite nice. Where did you get them?"
Elbert entered Lori's office uninvited, looking with great interest at the three incense sticks.
"Those are gifts from Mr. Simmons of the group. They're antiques, so you'd better be careful. You can't afford to break them!"
Lori didn't look up, speaking impatiently.
"Oh, what about that landscape painting?" Elbert asked again.
"That was a gift from Mr. Inome!"
"What about these two balls?"
"Those are called Dragon Balls, expensive crafts! They were given to me by Mr. Ingram!"
'Rex? No wonder! This guy is really something else!'
'It seems that this Mr. Simmons and Mr. Inome are all his accomplices!'
'Is the Brown Family going to be completely isolated?'
Thought about these, Elbert shook his head helplessly.
But this Doomweaver's Veil Array was just like an eyesore, and he decided to break it for her!
"Oops!" he pretended.
The antique vase fell to the ground and shattered with a crash!
Lori was startled and looked up abruptly, only to see the pieces scattered all over the floor!
Moreover, Elbert was still pushing towards the remaining two vases!
"Elbert, what are you doing? Stop!"
The remaining two vases also shattered into pieces!
Elbert shrugged and said calmly, "Oops, my hand slipped!"
Lori quickly got up and rushed over to check the situation!
Carol from the next room also came over upon hearing the noise, looking stunned at the scene!
"Elbert, you did that on purpose!"
Lori raised ab eyebrow and said, "You shouted first and then broke the vases. It was obviously intentional!"
Elbert was speechless.
'Now you’re suddenly so perceptive?'
'Then why didn't you notice that Rex wants to kill you, take over the Brown Family shares, and want to sleep with your two sisters?'
'Would you believe me if I told you that?'
He thought to himself.
"Just three vases. I'll pay for them if I have to!"
Elbert said helplessly, not wanting to explain further.
"Can you afford it?"
"These vases are worth at least 6 million!"
Lori said, heartbroken, holding the broken pieces.
"Give me your account number, and I'll transfer the money to you!" Elbert shrugged.
"Forget it!"
Lori was utterly speechless.
'Six million? You couldn't come up with six million even if you sold yourself,' she thought.
"Let's just put it on the account and deduct it from your salary!"
"But I don't know if you'll ever be able to pay it off in this lifetime!"
Lori tried to compose herself, giving Elbert a way out.
But Elbert smiled and said, "With the driver's salary, it's unlikely! But I could take some time to run some business for your company."
"It's just a vasa worth 6 million. An order worth 100 million will do!"
"Elbert! Talking about a 100 million order like it's 100 bucks. Where does your confidence come from?"
Lori was speechless again.
Unable to bear their argument, Carol quickly changed the subject. "Miss Brown, it's about time to leave for your meeting with Mr. James at Elysium Care Center!"
Lori took a few deep breaths, unable to bear looking at her broken vases, and stood up, "Elbert, go get the car."
At the Brown Family estate.
The twin beauties, who had just finished playing tennis, went up to the sunroom on the second floor.
They were about to enjoy a pot of coffee and soak up some sun.
When Mary picked up the coffee pot on the table, she suddenly froze!
"What is this?!"
"No way!"
Mary stared blankly at the card she had picked up. "Isn't this the card Father gave to Elbert?"
Susan came over and looked closely, "Oh my, it really is!"
"He..."
"He put the card back?"
The two quickly glanced around; this sunroom is usually cleaned only once every three days!
'Could it be?'
'Elbert put the card back here the same day he got it?'
'He didn't use the money inside!'
'Is he a man of integrity?'
'Unwilling to sell his dignity for money?'
The two young beauties suddenly thought of all the things they had done to Elbert...
"Oh no, we even called him a boy toy!"
"We set traps to frame him!"
"We deducted money from the 5 million after eating his fried rice?"
"He's so upright?"
"Such good cooking skills?"
"And so handsome!"
"Oh my, we can't face him anymore!"
"Mary, how could you be so stupid! You made me misunderstand Elbert!"
"Susan! That's nonsense! You were involved, too!"
The two young girls were very anxious. What should they do now?
"Wait a minute!"
Mary suddenly realized something, her expression serious, "If Elbert really didn't take the money, then where did all those dozens of bags of clothes come from?"
"Yeah, those clothes cost hundreds of thousands. Elbert used to live off part-time jobs; where did he get so much money?"
After five minutes of silence.
"I got it!"
Mary suddenly slapped the table, gritting her teeth. "He must have used the money!"
"And he deliberately put the card here, waiting for us to find it and feel guilty!"
"Meanwhile, he's been spending our third sister's money lavishly!"
"I remember Mr. Ingram talking to me for half an hour that day, saying Elbert's goal was to take our family fortune."
"So it's true..."
"Elbert has been scheming for a long time!"
"People are so unpredictable, and I even felt guilty for five minutes just now!"
Susan suddenly realized, "Is he really that scary? So what do we do with this card?"
"The card?"
Mary showed a smile that she thought was cunning. "We won't tell Father, and we definitely won't tell Lori!"
"We'll just pretend we don't know anything."
"He'll get exposed sooner or later!"
Susan nodded slightly. "Stay the course. Brilliant!"
"But what about the money just sitting there? 5 million? That's my allowance for several months!"
Mary licked her lips and whispered. "How about we secretly spend it?"
