Chapter 14: Is This a Horror Movie?

200 outfits were too much to handle.

Lori had to ask Iron Four and the others to take the clothes back to the estate first.

Elbert patted Alvin on the shoulder and gave him a warm look. "Let's keep contact, dude. If there is some good chance, I won’t forget you."

After Elbert and his group left,Kimberly immediately hid behind the shelves.

She had made a resolution to win over this rich and handsome guy, Elbert!

As for Alvin, that sycophant, she never considered him equal.

She excitedly held her phone, constantly rehearsing in her mind how to start a conversation with Elbert.

Kimberly: [Elbert, are you there?]

Elbert: [Yes.]

Kimberly: [I'll first send you Emily's Facebook, but don't be too sad. Emily has a boyfriend now, a wealthy guy her mom picked for her!]

Kimberly: [But I'm single now. If you're bored, I can come to find you tonight!]

Then, Kimberly sent Emily's contact.

She edited again: [Elbert, I know a nice bar that has a drink called 'Losing Control'. What do you think? Sounds fun?]

Kimberly suppressed her excitement. She was very skilled with his flirt skills, and almost no man could resist it!

She sent it.

While the result drove her crazy. [The other party is no longer your friend. To continue chatting, please send a friend request...]

'What the heck, he blocked me!

'No explanation at all?!'

Kimberly angrily threw her phone. "Jerk!"

At the Brown Family estate,Mary and Susan watched angrily as Iron Four and the others carried large bags of clothes back.

"How many clothes did he buy, and how much did he spend of our sister's money?"

"He's really like that, just after the money!"

"Unbelievable."

"Outrageous!"

They started talking with furious.

Mary's eyes lit up, "Susan, we can't let that scumbag Elbert get away with this! I have an idea..."

The two girls started plotting.

They got excited, and they couldn't help but laugh mischievously!

After Lori and Elbert left the mall, Elbert drove straight to the northern part of Wavehaven City.

Lori looked at the low three-story building in front of her and then at the surroundings, frowning gradually.

She remembered this place vividly; it was where she was cornered by thugs three years ago!

"Elbert, why did you bring me here?" she asked.

"Are you trying to remind me that you saved me three years ago, and I owe you a huge favor?"

Elbert shook his head helplessly. "You're overthinking it."

Lori followed Elbert as he pushed open the broken wooden door of the three-story building.

A strong smell of disinfectant and blood hit her nose!

In the lobby, dirty windows let in mottled sunlight.

In the dilapidated room, there were more than a dozen hospital beds!

On some of the beds lay patients, either wrapped in bloody bandages or receiving IV drips!

The floor was covered with bloodstains, syringes, and medicine bottles, all in disarray!

It was like a bloody hospital scene from a horror movie!

"Elbert, what is this place!"

Lori instantly became nervous, hiding behind Elbert and gripping his arm tightly.

Elbert didn't say anything and walked forward calmly.

An old man with hair like a bird's nest, wearing a patched-up white coat, was holding a sharp steel pipe, measuring it against the chest of an unconscious middle-aged man.

Elbert and Lori approached.

When Lori saw the situation clearly, she suddenly screamed!

A small "X" had been drawn on the unconscious man's chest with a marker.

Was this a target?

Was the old man going to pierce this man's chest?

"Mr. Collins," Elbert called softly.

The old man didn't even turn his head. "Elbert, tell your girl to be quiet. I'm saving a life here!"

From Elbert's perspective, Robert had already analyzed the unconscious man's condition.

Gary Collins' method was undoubtedly the most effective and quickest solution!

The seemingly haphazard little "X" was actually marked with pinpoint accuracy, without any deviation!

With a flash of cold light, Gary's steel pipe directly pierced the unconscious man's abdomen!

The next moment, blood splattered.

Along with the blood flowing out of the steel pipe, there was also a stream of yellow pus!

Just as Lori was about to scream, Elbert covered her mouth!

As the pus flowed out, the unconscious middle-aged man gradually relaxed his furrowed brows.

The condition was effectively alleviated!

"Is this pleural effusion? And you're using this method to drain it?"

Lori stared in shock and then shouted. "This method is too crude! It doesn't require auxiliary equipment or disinfection; it's too irresponsible!"

Gary finally turned his head and said, "Elbert, your girl seems to know quite a bit, but I don't approve of this marriage. She's too noisy!"

"Who are you, and why do I need your approve?"

Lori had just shouted half a sentence when she suddenly realized something was wrong. "Ugh, I'm not marrying him!"

"Since you know medicine, you can handle the rest of the bandaging."

Gary waved at Lori and then turned to Elbert. "Elbert, why are you here, and why didn't you bring me any booze?"

Elbert laughed heartily and said, "Gary, come here. Let me tell you some good news. I've made some money."

Feeling frustrated, Lori tended to the patient's wounds, occasionally stealing glances at Elbert and Gary talking in the distance.

Gary still had a nonchalant demeanor.

But his eyes, when looking at Elbert, were filled with both pride and a bit of satisfaction.

Half an hour later, Lori sat in the car, very confused.

She looked at the broken building's entrance, where Gary and a few children in wheelchairs were seeing her and Elbert off.

Those children were pitiful.

Some had lost an arm, and others had lost both legs.

But they all smiled and called Elbert "the great Elbert".

On the way back to the estate.

Lori finally couldn't help but ask, "What was that place?"

"A hospital."

Elbert, with one hand on the steering wheel, was in a good mood. "Gary is the only doctor there, specializing in treating poor people who can't afford medical care."

Lori was a bit shocked. "What about those children?"

"They are homeless kids. Criminal gangs made them disabled, and after they reached a certain age, they were abandoned. Gary took them in."

As Elbert spoke slowly, Lori's heart was in turmoil!

No wonder the place was so rundown. No wonder there were so many children!

Gary was a good man!

Lori suddenly felt regretful; she shouldn't have yelled at Gary!

"But how do you know Gary?"

Elbert lit a cigarette with his Zippo.

"Three years ago, the night I was stabbed and left blind, I lay on the roadside for half an hour. Everyone ignored me. Just as I was about to bleed out, Gary saved me!"
