Chapter 71 Hero's Welcome

"How did you know the whole thing..." Mr. Brown's eyes were filled with shock as he stared blankly at Jeffery, Leonard, and the others.

Elbert easily revealed the secret he had guarded so closely.

"Who revealed the secret?" Jeffery also looked at Gary in confusion and spoke.

"Don't look at me, and I didn't tell young Elbert anything!" Gary smacked his lips and took a small sip of his drink.

Everyone was stunned.

'Could Elbert really have deduced all this just from a few words and some information from the internet?'

'If that's true, his intellect was truly beyond common sense,' they exclaimed inwardly.

"Elbert, you need to be cautious with your words!"

"Elbert, terms like international, Veridiania military, and cyborgs aren't to be thrown around easily!"

"Elbert, this matter isn't just some ordinary strange rumor, don't spread it!"

Mr. Brown and the two military bigwigs kept trying to salvage the situation, looking panicked!

"Judging by your expressions, I guessed correctly, didn't I?" Elbert smiled. "But, Mr. Brown, I do have something to advise you."

Mr. Brown shook off his reverie and returned to his senses, "Elbert, go ahead."

"I suggest you revoke Rex's authority over the secret department." If you don't do that, you may have big trouble," Elbert said calmly.

"Are you saying he's eyeing the Brown Family shares?" Mr. Brown smiled bitterly, "I'm aware of that. Rex came from a poor background but was chosen by Jessica as her husband. He'd inevitably have designs on the Brown Family's assets."

"Such things are common in wealthy families. I can't just forcibly separate them," Alan continued. "I am no child, and I had hoped that you would serve as a restraint on him. If he had shown some self-control, I might have turned a blind eye. But if he..."

"Alan, this matter isn't as complicated as you think," Elbert interrupted him. "I've already warned him."

Elbert chuckled deeply. "If Rex does anything out of line next, I'll make sure he never recovers!"

Mr. Brown trembled!

"Elbert, isn't that a bit extreme?" he asked.

Elbert didn't continue responding to Mr. Brown. Instead, he looked at General Jeffery.

He smiled and said, "Regarding the bank incident, it was reckless of me. The soldiers had their faces covered so that I couldn't identify them."

Jeffery was momentarily speechless.

This wasn't about recklessness.

Anyone who wanted to be reckless would need the ability to back it up!

General Jeffery's mouth twitched. "I truly admire your observational skills!"

He added, "With such talent, it's a bit of a waste that you don't join our enhancement program."

Gary coughed and stood up. "Regarding the military experiment, I'll vouch for Elbert. He won't disclose any secrets! I'm tired, Elbert. Take me home."

"We know that, Gary. Gary, why don't we go back with you? We can discuss the plan further!" Jeffery quickly stepped forward.

"You're annoying!" Gary waved his hand and started walking, with Elbert following behind. Jeffery and the others stood there, bewildered and at a loss!

Outside the Brown Family estate.

Aldrich had already woken up, staring blankly at the other young members of the Brown Family at the armed soldiers in the courtyard.

"What is going on?"

"Armed soldiers have surrounded the Brown Family estate, and then Elbert was left behind to talk with two bigwigs?"

"Could Elbert have connections with the military?"

"That was such a big scene; it can't be an ordinary matter!"

Ethan said angrily, "I bet that arrogant Elbert caused trouble outside and is now being surrounded by heavy troops! I'd love to see Elbert come out in handcuffs and shackles! And then be sent to prison, never to see the light of day again!"

Ethan's face twisted with anger, but inside, he was constantly praying! Hoping it would turn out as he wished!

Because of the concert incident, Elbert had given him inexplicable pressure, making him very uneasy!

Suddenly, he armed soldiers changed their formation.

After a burst of running, they lined up neatly on both sides of the estate's main gate.

They lined the road, extending all the way to the gate!

An elderly man with a stooped posture was the first to walk out of the gate.

Elbert followed closely behind.

All the armed soldiers suddenly stood at attention, raising their arms in a uniform salute!

Elbert and the old man walked forward slowly.

The soldiers maintained their salute, watching them all the way!

The aura was imposing!

It was awe-inspiring!

The salute was not for Elbert but for Gary!

Just moments ago, the soldiers received an order through their radios: "Salute to the veteran!"

At this moment, Ethan, Aldrich, and the others were stunned!

The scene before them was beyond their comprehension!

They knew these soldiers were exercising the highest military honor!

'Who was that old man?'

'And if Elbert could follow such a person.'

'Who was he?'

'Could he be a high-ranking military officer's child?'

They couldn't help but recall Miss Clark's respectful demeanor towards Elbert.

They were terrified!

As Elbert and Gary walked among the soldiers, there was an indescribable aura about them!

And compared to them, Ethan and the others felt as insignificant as ants!

Seeing this scene, even Melissa was no longer as calm as before.

'Paul Two. How many identities do you have?' thought Melissa

But the most surprising was the third miss of the Brown Family, Lori!

She instantly recognized the old man in the white vest.

'Gary!' she exclaimed inwardly.

In her mind, he was always a proud and aloof doctor who looked down on everyone! She felt bizarre seeing him showing up.

She suddenly recalled Elbert's words: "Gary doesn't think much of your FutureTech Group!"

'Elbert wasn't lying; Gary was far from simple!'

'If Gary was an extraordinary person.'

'Then who was Elbert, whom he treated like his own?'

Lori was once again deeply puzzled!
