Chapter 240 Simple Hometown
In the twilight, Eleanor got out of the car in front of her house, carrying two large bags of food.
She was a bit puzzled.
'What is up with the factory manager today? He was so respectul to me and insisted on sending me home in the company car, making me feel like the factory manager!' she thought.
After a few steps, Eleanor saw an SS454 vintage car parked in front of her house.
At first, she was delighted, wondering if Elbert had gotten his own car.
Then she shook her head slightly in denial.
This car looked pretty old.
Life in the big city wasn't easy.
Elbert must be scrimping and saving!
Elbert's home was a quaint little courtyard, elegant and tranquil, quite typical in this county town.
Eleanor pushed open the wooden door.
Seeing Elbert in a white shirt, she was overjoyed!
"Elbert, you look even more handsome! Ten times more handsome than Stella's son! Haha!"
Eleanor threw the groceries aside and gave Elbert a big hug.
Five minutes later, Elbert smiled helplessly. "Mom, hugging for so long, aren't your arms stiff?"
"Elbert, I'm getting old and even having hallucinations."
Eleanor let go and stared at the two beautiful girls behind Elbert. "I see two beauties."
Elbert laughed. "Mom, these are my two friends, Trinity and Melissa."
"Hello."The two graceful girls nodded slightly.
Two beautiful friends Came back home with Elbert?
Slightly stunned, Eleanor pointed at the little boy grinning at her with his hands behind his back.
"And this child?"
Elbert lifted Dennis with one hand and brought him in front of Eleanor.
Dennis's grinning act was something Elbert had trained him for an hour.
"Mom, this is the child I'm planning to adopt. His name is Dennis."
Eleanor was extremely shocked!
"I brought some supplements as a first meeting gift," Melissa said to Eleanor with a grace smile.
Trinity even prepared a valuable jade ring in a beautiful velvet box and handed it over. "This is a gift from me."
"Oh my God!"
Eleanor held her head and spun around in place!
Then, she turned and walked out the door in a hurry.
"Mom, where are you going?"
"I'm going to find someone to play poker! Elbert, set up the table!"
With that, Eleanor' disappeared in an instant.
Elbert shook his head and smiled.
"Elbert, what's your mom doing?" Melissa asked in confusion.
Elbert rubbed his temples. "She's going to show off. Dennis, behave well later."
"Okay, Violent Bear."
Then, Elbert picked up the groceries Eleanor had thrown on the floor. "Since you're all here, I'll cook for you today!"
Twenty minutes later, the courtyard lights were on, and the table was set.
Three women and Eleanor sat around the table.
Dennis stood by with his hands behind his back, grinning uncontrollably.
However, at this moment, they had no interest in playing cards.
They occasionally glanced at Elbert in the kitchen.
Elbert rolled up his sleeves, and Melissa immediately tied an apron for him.
And Trinity was washing vegetables.
"Eleanor, Elbert really did bring back these two girls and this kid?" one of Eleanor's friends asked in disbelief.
"Of course."
Eleanor was extremely proud, ready to play a pair. "I've always told you, Elbert is the best of the best. Many girls like him! But don't worry. Our family is upright, and only one daughter-in-law is allowed. Well, Elbert is too charming!"
Eleanor's friends sighed, feeling a bit envious.
Elbert, after a few days, looked even more dashing!
Besides, the friends he brought back were really beautiful!
As Dennis watched them play pokers, he said to Eleanor, "I don't recommend you play this card. From my observation, the grandma opposite has a big pair. The grandma on the left also has many pairs. And they don't have any single cards bigger than a king."
Dennis was still grinning, giving advice.
"Oh my."
Eleanor immediately pulled Dennis into her arms, affectionately rubbing his little head. "You're really amazing."
The women were envious again!
Even the adopted child was so smart and cute!
This round, Eleanor didn't listen to Dennis's advice and ended up losing.
But she couldn't stop smiling the whole game!
Today, she felt so proud!
An hour later, Elbert finished cooking eight dishes.
The women who had been cooking for half their lives were impressed by the aroma.
Through the door, they saw a strong, frowning man holding a roast chicken in his left hand and two bottles of wine in his right, walking in aggressively.
He was Stella's son, called Christopher.
It was said that whenever a boy in Riverside Town brings his girlfriend home, relatives and friends all come over to offer their congratulations.
"Elbert, Christopher is here!"
Christopher walked in, threw the wine and roast chicken on the table, and sat down directly.
Inside, Melissa frowned. "Sir, this person looks fierce."
"He's a well-known bully here."
Elbert smiled lightly. "But that's all in the past."
Elbert slowly walked out of the house and sat next to Christopher.
Christopher still looked fierce, frowning, and glanced at Elbert. "Why didn't you tell me when you came back? And you even had to let my mom notify me."
Elbert smiled without saying a word.
"You look so pathetic and soskinny. And you got new glasses?"
Christopher sneered, cracking his knuckles.
He glanced at Eleanor, then suddenly leaned in and said, "Did you find those punks who blinded you? Give me their address, I'll take care of them for you!"
