Chapter 443 Clue
It was unexpected.
Elbert didn't ask any more questions, nor did he touch the gravestones.
Instead, he called Quentin over, and they started digging new graves one by one.
They used their hands and dug all night.
Then they found stones and carved names on them.
At dawn, the sun rose.
Elbert stood before the gravestones, nodding slightly.
Quentin, usually cheerful, was now crying bitterly.
Elbert looked at the despondent Mike, "Mike, everyone in the village is gone. Come with me."
Mike shook his head.
At that moment, a large black pig walked out from the village and stood beside Mike.
Sal, the village mascot, had survived once again.
"Take care then," Elbert nodded and turned to leave.
Elbert knew Mike was deeply attached to this place and wanted to stay.
In the morning sun, it was a scene of desolation.
Gravestones stood tall.
Mike and Sal quietly guarded, unwavering, as if the villagers might wake up.
Robert said, "Elbert, there's a significant amount of radiation on the west side of the village."
"Rumor has it that the Galaxy District explosion happened because they illegally increased the nuclear material."
"I suspect that when the accident occurred, they transferred the excess material here to avoid responsibility."
After a pause, Robert added, "If you absorb these materials, your DNA evolution could increase by 3%-8%."
Elbert walked forward slowly.
He didn't glance at the west side.
He said softly, "I already sensed the presence of that material."
Robert asked, "Then?"
Elbert continued, "Robert, do you know why I didn't open those gravestones yesterday?"
Robert replied, "Yeah, I was curious. Don't you want to find out?"
"I don't."
"Just like I don't want to absorb the radioactive material underground."
"I know it's unrealistic for the villagers to come back to life."
"But I have to leave something behind."
Elbert walked forward without hesitation.
Robert was curious, "Leave what?"
Elbert smiled slightly, "It's another human emotion called—hope."
Robert suddenly fell silent.
It seemed to understand a bit, yet couldn't fully grasp it.
"Robert, let's leave hope for the future and focus on what we need to do now."
Elbert quickened his pace, his expression turning cold, "The Apocalypse Association must pay the price!"
Elbert arrived at the north side of the village.
There were still nine bodies here.
Of course, no one would bury them!
Elbert bent down to examine the black suits killed by Quentin.
He found their fingerprints were smoothed out, their teeth marks erased, and even their faces had undergone plastic surgery!
Elbert searched their clothes but found nothing!
But Elbert knew in his heart.
These people were genuine F-level modified humans!
And they could only be lackeys in the Apocalypse Association!
One fact made Elbert tense.
Judging by the timeline, the Apocalypse Association's modification technology was far superior to the world's standards.
Yet it had always been hidden in the shadows!
Elbert frowned gradually.
Another deeply hidden organization!
He slowly walked to the pile of ashes in the distance.
This was the blond young man.
Elbert had turned him to ashes in a fit of rage!
He didn't even know his name!
A glimmer of silver flashed in the ashes.
Elbert picked it up; it was a shiny nail clipper.
The blond young man had been fiddling with it before he died!
Robert said, "Your flame temperature is about 3500 degrees Fahrenheit. There are very few metals that can withstand such heat!"
Elbert turned the nail clipper over and saw two letters engraved on the back: 'LR.'
Robert said, "Based on the weight and volume, we can calculate its density. Hold on!"
In the next moment.
A set of information appeared in Elbert's view.
'Tantalum hafnium carbide alloy.'
'Only one workshop in Avalonia uses this metal to make crafts.'
'Named Lorimer, a metal craftsman, abbreviated as LR!'
Robert said, "I checked LR's orders. They mainly make items for a folk sect called the 'Tremor Society!'"
"And the Tremor Society's doctrine is apocalyptic. They claim that only tantalum hafnium carbide alloy can survive the apocalypse!"
"Excellent!"
Elbert weighed the nail clipper slightly, his eyes flashing coldly, "The Apocalypse Association, there's no such thing as a secret that can't be uncovered! This little tool is the beginning of their downfall!"
Immediately.
Elbert looked at the few mutated beasts tied up in the distance.
His thoughts flashed again.
"The young man said he wanted to do research. These beasts must be transported out."
"Robert, check for large trucks waiting near the radiation area and large transport planes that can carry these beasts!"
"I want to uproot the Apocalypse Association, leaving nothing behind!"
Immediately.
Elbert walked to the beasts and broke the iron chains.
Seven or eight beasts sensed the terrifying radiation from Elbert and lay down on the ground, not daring to move an inch!
Elbert pondered slightly.
Although this radiation area was desolate and eerie, compared to the world, it was a rare sanctuary.
Moreover, the radiation here hadn't been completely cleared!
After a moment, Elbert said in a low voice, "Go ahead. With you here, at least this place will be feared!"
The beasts growled lowly.
They scattered and fled.
Elbert called Quentin, and the Celestial Pioneer streaked across the sky, heading straight for Avalonia!
However, just minutes after Elbert left.
The bodies of the Black Clothes men on the ground suddenly emitted a muffled sound from their brains.
Then yellow liquid suddenly flowed from their facial features, filling the air with a pungent smell.
The liquid reacted with their flesh, producing boiling bubbles.
It was like some kind of strong acid.
In moments, the bodies melted into blood, seeping into the ground, leaving only a pool of red.
As if they had never existed!
