Chapter 286 Attracting Attention
And then the villagers started cheering. They were pumped today because they finally had some hope for survival.
They surrounded Elbert and Dawn, busting out some dance moves no one recognized!
In the crowd, Elbert spotted someone trying to sneak away.
"Master Debussy?" Elbert called out sharply.
The man froze, and the crowd stopped cheering, turning their heads all at once.
They watched as Elbert walked up to him with a grin, "Where's your evil god now?"
Debussy was sweating bullets, "The evil spirit was suppressed, which is why your fields grew crops."
"Is that so!" Elbert's eyes flashed coldly, and he kicked out with half his strength.
Debussy's body rolled and crashed into a table.
As he flew through the air, a pile of jewelry spilled from his arms. The villagers quickly took a closer look.
"Isn't that my bracelet? Isn't that my family's silverware? He didn't melt them down! He was a fraud!"
The villagers' eyes widened in anger!
Elbert said with his hands behind his back, "He came for the money, of course he wouldn't melt them down. Those in the field are just ordinary iron nails!"
The villagers suddenly remembered Dawn's words, the fields wouldn't grow crops because of the iron elements. This damn Master Debussy was making things worse.
Several male villagers angrily stepped forward, ready to punish Debussy immediately.
But they suddenly stopped!
What about the poisonous snakes in the soil? Could Debussy really have some terrifying abilities?
Dawn frowned slightly and found a sealed package among the jewelry.
She picked it up, looking a bit hesitant.
Elbert smiled lightly, "You're right, show it to everyone!"
With Mr. Perry's approval, Dawn no longer hesitated. She sprinkled the powder from the sealed package onto a rock. Then lit a torch to heat it.
The next moment, intertwining black snakes appeared again.
Seeing this, the villagers stepped back in awe.
But Dawn calmly said, "Everyone, don't be afraid, this is still science! Mercury thiocyanate expands when heated!"
Then Dawn sprinkled some mercury thiocyanate on a wooden stake, a chair, and even a water bottle, and lit them all, showing the Pharaoh's snake phenomenon.
The villagers were directly shocked. They didn't care about mercury thiocyanate, they just exclaimed that Dawn could do magic.
But one thing was certain, Debussy was useless, a far cry form Dawn.
Then the villagers, full of anger, rushed towards the unconscious Debussy, carried him away, and threw him into the cattle pen.
In the distance, several off-road vehicles kicked up a cloud of dust and screeched to a halt at the village entrance.
A dozen men in black suits hurried out of the cars. They looked at the gushing underground water and the sprouting fields in the distance.
Their expressions froze, then they headed straight to the scene.
The leading man in black stepped forward and said, "We're from the Luanda Combat Unit. This is our Urban Warfare Commander, and this is the Deputy Mayor of Luanda!"
"Who's the village chief here? Come out and talk," he shouted.
The village chief, shaking with fear, took a few steps forward.
Even though he didn't know what an Urban Warfare Commander or a Mayor was, he recognized Mayor Cooper standing respectfully behind the crowd. Cooper was the top boss of a dozen surrounding villages.
He had met him once three years ago.
"Are you the village chief?" The Urban Warfare Commander squinted slightly. "Four hours ago, our radar detected several supersonic planes flying in your direction. Did you see them?"
The old village chief was stunned and turned to look at Elbert.
The Urban Warfare Commander immediately noticed this young Veridianian.
"Report, Commander, the survey machines have completed their investigation. They belong to Andrastan!" a man in black reported.
The Urban Warfare Commander signaled with his eyes, and several men surrounded Elbert.
He then said in a deep voice, "Get me Commander Rod from the Andrastan Aviation Radar Command!"
A man took out a satellite phone and quickly connected to the other side.
Evalia's Urban Warfare Commander looked at Elbert warily and said, "Rod, are drones and survey vehicles in our territory yours?"
"That's right," a cold voice replied.
"I found them in a village in our country, along with a young Veridianian. What's going on?" he asked.
The person on the other end of the phone suddenly exclaimed, "You saw him?"
"The Veridianian? He's in front of me," he replied.
At this moment, the Andrastan Commander on the other end of the phone suddenly widened his eyes and started breathing rapidly.
'If I can capture him, Victoria may celebrate nationwide and give me a medal!' the Andrastan Commander thought.
While the Commander was highly tense, thinking about how to explain the situation, the computer screen beside him flickered.
Gradually, those terrifying codes formed an image.
'Paul Four knows what I'm going to do?' The Andrastan Commander swallowed hard.
He shouted into the phone, "Out of humanitarian concern, I must warn you about something!"
"Do not annoy the young man in front of you. Pass on a message for me: I love him, I admire him. I can be his eternal friend, and those planes are gifts from me to him. Don't meddle. Do you hear me? I love him!" The Andrastan Commander was incoherent.
Evalia's Urban Warfare Commander frowned.
'Rod must be crazy,' he pondered.
The hysterical shouting on the phone was heard clearly by everyone present.
Elbert also smiled playfully.
After the Andrastan Commander hung up the phone, he looked at the disappearing codes on the screen with lingering fear.
He let out a long sigh of relief, exhausted.
