Chapter 38 A Blatant Crush

The current game.

Elbert and Bryan each held three hidden cards, neither revealing them, waiting for that final moment to compare. Bryan, bankrupt and deeply in debt, finally bet 1 billion dollars. And Elbert, with a blank expression, raised the bet tenfold to 10 billion dollars.

Bryan had two choices. The first was to raise the bet beyond 10 billion, then hold the upper hand and compete with Elbert to determine the winner. The second was to fold directly, admit defeat, and hand over all his previous bets.

But how much was Elbert's fortune? No one knew. It seemed as deep as the ocean. With the casino manager's testimony, no matter how astonishing Elbert's bet was, it was valid.

At this moment, Bryan was stunned. Eyes wide open, motionless, cold sweat dripping. He regretted it. Deeply regretted it. Now, he had put up all his assets, even borrowed billions in debt, but he was easily suppressed by Elbert. Elbert's 10 billion bet was an amount Bryan couldn't possibly match. Even if he could come up with 10 billion, who knew if Elbert would raise it to 20 billion? Or 30 billion? Looking at the relaxed Elbert, Bryan found it hard to breathe. Elbert was like a mountain, incredibly steady, insurmountable.

Bryan laughed bitterly, and he was almost on the brink of breaking down. Even if he knew he had a straight flush, and Elbert had a bad hand, so what? If his bet wasn't big enough, he had no right to see the cards. He originally planned to use some tricks to get the two girls from the Brown Family into bed; he was now not only bankrupt but also suffered the greatest humiliation of his life.

Suddenly, Bryan grabbed the three cards on the table and stuffed them into his mouth. As he struggled to swallow, his face twisted. He said, "The cards are destroyed; no one knows the result of this game."

Elbert sighed lightly, just watching quietly. This was probably the so-called last psychological defense being breached. But he couldn't blame anyone; those with bad intentions would eventually be plagued by bad luck.

The casino manager frowned and said, "Mr. Ward, do you think our casino supervision doesn't exist? You've already lost to Mr. Perry, and you must pay the bet."

"Casino?" With a mouthful of paper scraps, Bryan mumbled, "Don't think I don't know the details of your casino. You belong to Black Fox. Your second-in-command, Mr. Patterson, is my uncle. I'm calling my uncle now, and when he arrives, let's see who dares to make me pay the bet."

Bryan glared at Elbert,. "Do you really think you can beat me? I'm just playing with you. When my uncle arrives, not only will you not get the bet, but you won't walk out of here standing. And those two girls from the Brown Family. I'm going to fuck them in public today, let's see who dares to stop me."

Bryan laughed as he took out his phone.

"Black Fox?"

"Wavehaven's number one gang."

"I heard they have connections in both the underworld and the legitimate world; their power is terrifying."

"Their second-in-command must be a big deal."

"That guy is doomed."

People whispered among themselves, their eyes revealing sympathy for Elbert. The casino manager also seemed at a loss.

'Mr. Ward knows the second-in-command? He never mentioned it before. This is a bit tricky.' He thought.

"My uncle is on his way. Even if you have 10 billion, it's useless; in the eyes of Black Fox, you're just an ant that can be crushed easily." Bryan put down the phone, his expression changing, now looking confident.

The successive changes had left Mary and Susan's brains unable to react. Originally, Elbert's unexpected win overjoyed them. But within minutes, the situation changed. Why did Black Fox suddenly appear? And it seemed this gang was formidable and not easy to mess with.

The casino manager's phone rang. He glanced at it, and his expression suddenly became tense. "Mr. Patterson, okay, rest assured." The casino manager hung up the phone and waved his hand. Then, a number of casino guards instantly surrounded Elbert's table. The casino manager approached Elbert, looking embarrassed, and said, "Mr. Perry, I apologize. Mr. Patterson called, and no one could leave until he arrived. He is indeed angry, but don't worry. I'll try to speak on your behalf."

The manager said, subconsciously wiping the sweat off his forehead.

"Elbert, what do we do now?" Mary asked, trembling.

Hearing the name Black Fox, Elbert seemed a bit helpless. He gently extinguished his cigarette and said calmly, "I'm so scared."

Mary was completely lost.

'Had this miracle worker, Elbert, run out of options, too? But what did his expression mean?' She looked at Elbert, who had folded his arms, closed his eyes to rest, and broke down, "Elbert, are you scared?"

"Of course, I'm scared to death right now. But I'm a bit sleepy. So, I'll take a nap. Wake me up when Mr. Patterson arrives."

Luminous Nights Club. Otis, who had just cleaned up the mess, was extremely agitated. Today, Paul, a figure as powerful as a demon, single-handedly took down the entire Black Fox gang, leaving the gang in disarray. And the most shocking thing was that the boss he had followed for six years turned out to be a puppet.

'That aside. Now, another clueless kid was bullying my nephew? And even trying to take my nephew's property? Did they think I am someone who could be easily offended? Is everyone trying to bully me? I'll kill you,' he thought to himself.

"Bring 20 people, follow me." Otis, brimming with anger, led 20 people heading towards the underground casino.
