Chapter 128 It's you
The Creator's employees had been at it for over 10 hours straight. Eleven hours of intense coding and brainstorming was bound to take its toll. Elbert, knowing everyone was running on fumes, decided to let them sleep in—just a little longer than planned.
The office speakers crackled to life. "Morning, everyone! Just a heads-up: we've got a meeting in five minutes. Paul and Alvin are already waiting in the conference room."
Groans and mumbled curses filled the air as the Creator team stumbled to their feet.
"A meeting? Seriously?"
"Ugh, my head feels like it's stuffed with cotton. Which way's the conference room again?"
"Hey, watch it, man!"
"Never mind that, let's just get going! Wouldn't want to keep the bosses waiting."
A wave of sleep-deprived employees surged towards the conference room, pushing through the doors with a collective sigh.
Inside, Elbert and Alvin sat calmly on stage, nursing mugs of coffee. The aroma of fresh brew filled the room, and steaming mugs awaited each employee at the tables.
The sight of their relaxed bosses had an immediate calming effect on the jittery team. Having leaders like this, who clearly had their backs, was a reassuring feeling.
Alvin smiled and gestured to the tables. "Grab a seat, everyone, and have some coffee."
Confused murmurs rippled through the room.
"Paul and I spent the morning making sure you all had a decent cup to wake up to," Alvin explained with a grin. "Consider it a small thank you for all your hard work. That's over 400 cups, by the way!"
"You guys are the best!"
"Seriously, this is way too kind."
"Well, we wouldn't dream of saying no to coffee!"
Everyone burst out into smiles.
Elbert chuckled. "No need to thank us. If you like it, the credit goes to me. If not, blame it on Alvin!"
Laughter erupted, instantly lightening the mood. Their bosses were geniuses, but they were also approachable, down-to-earth guys.
Everyone settled down with their coffee, the warmth spreading through their tired limbs. It was amazing how such a simple act could make such a difference.
Elbert raised his mug. "You know, guys, sometimes it's the little things that make life great. You don't always need a complete overhaul; sometimes, a few tweaks are all it takes."
He glanced around the room, his gaze lingering on the familiar conference table and stage.
Confusion clouded the faces of his team.
'What was he getting at?'
'Weren't we supposed to be strategizing about crushing Meta Platforms?'
'We were all waiting for his next brilliant move!'
All eyes were glued to Elbert, coffee forgotten.
As if on cue, the screen behind him flickered to life, displaying the latest product data. Gemini app had skyrocketed to 1.03 billion users, with 560 million daily active users! It was an unprecedented peak, a number that sent shockwaves through the internet.
Meanwhile, Meta Platforms' social app barely clung to life, and its activity was a paltry 130 million. It seemed only the most die-hard users remained.
A wave of astonishment washed over the room.
'How had the numbers climbed so high while we slept?' they thought.
But then, they figured it out: They were Creator, they were Gemini app, and they had Elbert on their side.
The data fueled their excitement. With a massive user base, any new feature they launched was guaranteed to be a smash hit.
All eyes turned to Elbert, hungry for his next move.
He smiled faintly. "With so many people putting their faith in us, the last thing we should do is get complacent. This isn't just success; it's a responsibility, a mission."
A chorus of agreement echoed through the room.
"What's the golden rule of software development?" Elbert asked.
"The user comes first!" they responded in unison.
Elbert set down his mug. "Gemini app helps you find your tribe and connect with people who share your passions. It's about building connections, losing yourself in conversations."
He then continued, "Think about it. When you find a kindred spirit, when you read something that moves you, when you see a picture that brings tears to your eyes… what could make that experience even more powerful?"
The room fell silent as everyone pondered the question.
Suddenly, someone exclaimed, "Music!"
It was like a lightbulb had gone off to Elbert.
'Music! Of course! Music could elevate any conversation, set the perfect mood,' he exclaimed inwardly.
Elbert beamed. "Exactly! We need to keep enhancing the user experience and make them fall in love with the Gemini app even more. I want to give them the perfect soundtrack for every conversation, every emotion."
He thundered, "Happy, sad, excited – the music should reflect it all, flawlessly!"
Everyone drew a collective breath. It was brilliant! Music was the universal language of emotion, and it had the power to transform the entire Gemini app experience.
Imagine connecting with someone special, sharing a moment of understanding, and having the perfect melody underscore the feeling. It would be magical.
The programmers in the room were already mentally sketching out the implementation.
"We've got the algorithms; matching music to moods is easy."
"First, we need to gauge the user's emotional state, which we can already do."
"Then we need a comprehensive music library."
"Cover every genre, fit every mood."
"And, of course, users should be able to listen to music even when they're not chatting."
"We'll need to categorize everything, create charts…"
"Wait a minute!" A programmer with black-rimmed glasses shot up in his seat. "You're planning to take down Meta Platforms Music, aren't you?"
Elbert's smile widened. "Is it that obvious?"
"Go for it, boss! We're right behind you."
"My goal is to give our users the best possible experience," Elbert said, his eyes twinkling. "Taking down Meta Platforms Music is just a side effect."
The room buzzed with excitement.
In their views, only Elbert could call crushing a giant like Meta Platforms a "side effect." He was bold, he was ambitious, and he had the talent to back it up.
Elbert's gaze fell on the programmer who had first suggested music. He was tall and lanky, his eyes shining with passion behind his black-rimmed glasses.
"What's your name, son?" Elbert asked.
The programmer blinked, stunned.
'He's talking to me, asking for my name? That’s surreal!'
"Walter, sir," he stammered. "Head of programming development."
Before he could say another word, Elbert's mind was already awash with information about Walter: [Walter is technically brilliant, with a strong work ethic and unwavering dedication.]
"Excellent," Elbert said, nodding approvingly. "Walter, I'm putting you in charge of developing our new project: Gemini APP Music."
