Chapter 506 Win or Lose

"I can read people pretty well, but fishing? That's a whole different story!"

Mr. Fields didn't seem to mind at all, staying relaxed as he cast his line back into the sea.

Elbert commented, "People are unpredictable. Even you might misjudge someone."

Mr. Fields paused for a moment.

"Like a hidden hero, a Savior."

Elbert reflected, "I knew a group of warriors who were also hidden. They were loyal, disciplined, and the best of the best!"

He continued, "Sadly, they died on foreign soil while on a mission. As citizens of Veridiania, they have no graves here."

"Mr. Fields, what do you think their sacrifice means?"

Mr. Fields' expression turned serious.

Then, with a somber look, he said, "When you knew them, they were called ApexGuardians. Later, I gave them a new mission, and they became X-ApexGuardians."

"I feel ashamed."

"Elbert, this is indeed my responsibility."

Robert chuckled, "Elbert, I get it now. He's expressing his guilt and lowering his stance. You should probably be polite back, so both sides can save face."

But Elbert turned to Mr. Fields and said firmly, "I will remember them!"

Robert was taken aback, "What?"

Mr. Fields was also slightly surprised, but then relaxed, "The X-ApexGuardians sacrificed themselves because I sent them to investigate the Apocalypse Association. You, on the other hand, eliminated the Apocalypse Association during the nuclear crisis."

"Their revenge was taken by you. You have the right to remember them!"

Elbert shook his head slightly.

"The Apocalypse Association wasn't completely destroyed."

"Their technology is advanced, and they will return."

"And right now, besides me, I can't think of anyone else who can stand against them!"

Mr. Fields paused again.

"Mr. Fields."

"A few days ago, a young man named Mr. Moore told me something interesting."

"He said, this is not the era of cyborgs, but the era of technology."

"And I happen to be very good at technology."

Elbert straightened up, "I'm preparing to open a store managed entirely by robots and smart systems. I want to open it in every corner of the world. I need your support, Mr. Fields."

Mr. Fields' expression was complex.

He suddenly realized, "To be honest, I had heard about this store, but I didn't pay much attention."

"I thought the owner would be a chubby guy with glasses who loves technology!"

"And this business fits the current needs."

"Now it seems..."

"If the owner is you."

Mr. Fields turned slightly, "Then the core of this project..."

Elbert chuckled, "I'm just making thorough preparations to fight the Apocalypse Association and any unknown enemies!"

Robert added, "And to help me collect upgrade data!"

But Elbert didn't mention.

The layout of TO wasn't just about dining and lodging!

It also included mechanical equipment and information networks.

Once this smart network was established, it would form a technological fortress!

Robert could gain more carriers!

And Elbert could navigate within it, controlling everything, becoming the true god of intelligence!

There is no strongest, only stronger!

"The responsibility of the ApexGuardians is clear. Only by eliminating the Apocalypse Association can we avenge them."

Elbert continued, "And my first step is to open this store all over Veridiania. You have the highest authority, so I need some convenience."

Robert was puzzled, "Why say all this?"

Elbert replied, "This is business. It's good to have strong backing."

Robert questioned, "How could he agree?"

Just then, Mr. Fields hesitated slightly, "How can I trust you?"

Elbert's eyes sparkled, "Mr. Fields, you are the only one who has fought the Apocalypse Association. You know their cunning."

"On one hand, you can believe the Apocalypse Association will stay quiet."

"On the other hand, you can believe this young man is seeking revenge."

"Who do you choose?"

Mr. Fields fell into deep thought.

Elbert added, "Besides, my restaurants only have clumsy robots."

After a moment of silence, Mr. Fields laughed heartily, "I think this spot isn't good for fishing today!"

Then, one of Mr. Fields' assistants approached, holding two fresh sea bass strung together with twine.

"Elbert, it's getting late, and our competition is inconclusive."

Mr. Fields smiled, "I came to Wavehaven to visit an old friend. I planned to bring him fish I caught myself, but now I'll have to buy some from the market and pretend I caught them!"

He handed one fish to Elbert, "Take this as a thank you for the coffee beans. If you have any elders at home, don't forget to show them some respect."

"I'll take my leave now."

Mr. Fields stood up to leave, then turned back, "Oh, and Elbert, cook the bass while it's fresh."

Elbert nodded slightly.

Watching Mr. Fields and his entourage leave.

Robert jumped out, "Elbert, did we get nothing today?"

Elbert turned slowly, "Not exactly."

At that moment, beneath the distant sea.

Two massive creatures swam slowly.

Because of these two giants, no fish dared to come near this area for miles!

Elbert whispered, "In this game, no one wins."

After a pause, Elbert added, "At least on the surface."

In the distance.

Inside a black car.

Aaron hesitated for a moment before asking, "Mr. Fields, how did the conversation go?"

Mr. Fields sighed slightly, "I lost."

Aaron was puzzled, "Neither of you caught any fish. What do you mean?"

Mr. Fields looked out the window, a wry smile on his lips.

"I had one flaw in my words, and Elbert caught it."

"That was my guilt over the X-ApexGuardians."

"As a result, he took the opportunity to ask for a lot of things."

A lot of things?

Aaron felt completely out of the loop!

Elbert, so young, was conversing with Mr. Fields, and he couldn't grasp any of the deeper meaning!

"Aaron."

"Is Elbert working on some kind of store?"

Aaron was surprised, "Yes, it's an intelligent store called TO, and Melissa is running it."

Mr. Fields nodded, "Economically, meet the store's needs as much as possible. Also, make this project one of Veridiania's key economic promotion projects this year and recommend it to friendly nations!"

"Coincidentally, you and Melissa will work together on this."

"If you don't do well on this project this year, Aaron, you might as well retire."

What?

Aaron was stunned!

"Mr. Fields, I don't mind retiring!"

"But, a key economic project for Veridiania?"

"Those are usually billion-dollar projects! This intelligent store is too small!"

"And, you said to meet his economic needs."

"Do you know how much he wants?"

Aaron couldn't understand the leader's intentions!

Earlier, Elbert had called, asking his team to prepare $3 trillion!

It was a joke!

Punisher or not, that's real money!

Am I supposed to gather $3 trillion for him?

Just then.

Aaron's phone rang. He answered his secretary's call, "Sir, there's a large financial transaction that needs your attention."

"What transaction?"

"It's from 12 international banks and 2 top venture capital firms, preparing to inject funds into a domestic company!"

Aaron was shocked, "What company has such appeal?"

The secretary was also uncertain, "It's called Pioneer Company, with a total injection of $5.6 trillion!"

"What?"

Aaron was completely stunned!

$5.6 trillion!

More than the national bank's reserves!

Did this kid really pull it off?

And doubled it!

The secretary added, "Sir, I seriously suspect there's another motive behind this business. Even money laundering isn't done like this!"

In the car, Mr. Fields clearly heard the conversation.

He closed his eyes slightly, leaning back in his seat, "Elbert is not simple."
