Chapter 487 The Birth of the Waiter
                    Elbert furrowed his brow slightly.
"Robert, what just happened?"
Robert grinned, "Elbert, you just kicked that chimney clean off! It was awesome!"
Elbert hesitated, "I wasn't talking about that. My strength?"
"Oh! You're not wearing your Hellfire Armor. You're not used to it yet!"
Elbert nodded in realization. He needed to put on his gear first; he always preferred to keep a low profile.
At this moment, Elbert and Robert had entered an abandoned factory.
Melissa smiled slightly, "Sir, I've been overseeing this place for over 20 days. I hope the results meet your expectations."
As she spoke, a wall in front of them rumbled open, revealing a hidden door and a large elevator.
The two stepped in, and the elevator descended rapidly. It stopped 30 feet underground, revealing a narrow corridor ending in a vault-like door.
"Sir, please wait a moment."
Melissa turned to the wall, entered a code, and bent slightly to verify her iris. The infrared sensors along the corridor deactivated, and she proceeded to open the vault door.
"Sir, this is the world's top security technology. The unlocking method is custom-made, and all our data has been wiped clean from the manufacturer's records."
Elbert watched quietly. Robert could open these doors in less than a second, and Elbert could break them down in under three.
"Melissa, you've done an excellent job."
Melissa smiled, feeling that all her hard work had paid off.
When Elbert entered the final space, he was genuinely amazed. The 50,000 square foot area was a sea of blue, with thousands of large servers neatly arranged like library shelves, their indicator lights flashing.
This was the command center for all the smart stores. Elbert and Robert had decided to create a unique AI to help Robert collect human behavior data for upgrading sequences and to manage the entire smart store network.
In front of them was the AI's core—a supercomputing matrix.
A young woman in a lab coat approached, nodding slightly at Elbert. "Mr. Perry."
"Ashley, long time no see."
Ashley, the hacker queen of Veridiania, smiled. Elbert couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration. He had only given them a blueprint, and while he was busy establishing Phantom Island and fighting the Apocalypse Association, they had built this underground base and assembled a world-class computing system without ever asking for his help.
Melissa and Ashley Thompson were indeed invaluable assistants.
Reflecting on the friends he had made, Elbert felt fortunate. Except for Quentin, no one had ever caused him trouble.
"Mr. Perry," Ashley said with a smile, "Give me a moment. I'll activate the program and input the key. Just five minutes, and you'll see it."
"No need," Elbert replied with a gentle smile, calling out, "Waiter."
Immediately, the fans in the room whirred, and the indicator lights began to flash rhythmically, creating a dazzling light show. The lights converged, and a 3D hologram projector on the ceiling activated, displaying a figure bathed in blue light.
A middle-aged butler in a tailcoat, with a meticulously groomed mustache and a white towel draped over his arm, appeared. He bowed gracefully to Elbert.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Perry. How may I assist you?" the synthesized voice asked.
Ashley was momentarily stunned. How had it activated on its own? And she hadn't input Mr. Perry's data into the Waiter. How did it suddenly seem more human with Mr. Perry present?
Robert jumped in, "Haha, Dad's here!"
Elbert smiled in satisfaction, "Very good, very good."
He then looked at the Waiter's virtual image, "Can you tell what service I need?"
"No problem, sir," the Waiter replied, extending its arm gracefully.
A wheeled robot rolled over to Elbert. He knew what this meant and placed his hand on the sensor atop the robot's head.
"Mr. Perry's health is normal, no medical attention needed," the Waiter reported. "Mr. Perry's hydration levels are normal, no drinks needed. Mr. Perry's blood sugar is normal, no food needed."
Elbert nodded slightly. The Waiter was using physical detection to gather guest data and match it with the service database. Very precise.
Elbert then activated 1% of his Witch DNA, causing his palm to heat up slightly.
"Beep," the Waiter detected the change. "Mr. Perry, your temperature is elevated, but your heart rate and blood pressure are normal. No signs of illness."
The Waiter's speech became slightly hesitant, as Elbert's actions were beyond its programmed parameters.
Elbert grinned mischievously, testing the Waiter's adaptability.
The Waiter scanned back and forth, "Mr. Perry, your current data indicates reproductive impulses. Given the presence of two elegant females, I can arrange a suite at our affiliated hotel, with rose petals spread across the bed."
"You can, sensitive content, sensitive content, %$#@#," the Waiter's head displayed a red exclamation mark, unable to process forbidden words.
The 3D hologram froze, displaying: Processing data.
Elbert's face turned green.
Robert laughed, "Elbert, I'm impressed. You broke the Waiter in two minutes!"
