"Stop right there!"
A swarm of figures burst onto the field.
It was Bertrand, the CEO of BioGen Innovations, along with members of the Six Nations Alliance.
The one who shouted was Alaric, the head of Dragon Might.
"Veridiania, think about the consequences!"
Alaric marched forward.
This group had been at the nearby research base. They heard Cold Winter's earth-shattering scream and knew something was wrong. So they rushed over.
Soon, more people flooded the field: BioGen Innovations security, bodyguards from the Six Nations, and several Wavehaven police officers. A few formidable figures quickly emerged from the crowd, standing at the forefront. Among them were several familiar faces from Veridiania, members of Dragon Might who had previously conducted a rescue on the broken bridge. These modified individuals from various countries numbered over a dozen.
Everyone's faces were stern, their gazes fixed on Elbert. Tensions were high.
Elbert's brow remained unfurrowed as he slowly lowered his foot and looked at the crowd with his hands behind his back.
"You've got some nerve, killing our trainees!"
"And in such a brutal manner!"
Members of the Six Nations Alliance trembled, their eyes filled with rage as they looked at the scattered limbs on the ground.
"And you! You even dared to try and kill the hero Arc!"
Bertrand, the CEO of BioGen Innovations, was equally furious. At the same time, a powerful figure rushed over. She landed beside Bertrand, her fists clenched, and her arms slowly turning crimson. It was the C+ modified witch.
"Wait!"
Alaric suddenly stepped in front of everyone. "This is Veridiania. No one is to act rashly until we figure out what's going on!"
Alaric's eyes scanned the area. All the people present were Veridiania trainees. BioGen Innovations wouldn't have it easy if they wanted to get rough.
Violet Moon, dragging her injured body, stepped forward. "Veridiania's team was in an international sparring match when Arc suddenly intervened, causing one of our trainees to lose control of their abilities."
Everyone followed Violet Moon's gaze to Warm Winter and Cold Winter. They were shocked. These two kids had such capabilities? How could this escalate any further?
"So you're saying these two are the murderers!"
"They killed our trainees from the Six Nations!"
The visitors from the Six Nations were furious, glaring at Alaric. "They're murderers and won't escape justice!"
Alaric was in a tough spot. This was a matter of life and death. And they had wiped out the top candidates from six major countries in one go!
"And what about that guy? He tried to harm Arc too!"
An elder with a rat-like face from Arcturus pointed at Elbert, spitting with rage. "You Veridiania people are all vicious criminals!"
Alaric clenched his fists, sweat beading on his forehead.
"What are you looking at?"
Elbert's eyes flashed with a fierce light. "They provoked us first. They deserved to die!"
"Is this kid crazy?"
"What nonsense is he spouting?"
The people from the Six Nations glared with bloodshot eyes, their anger boiling over.
"They were just a bunch of useless people!"
"Do you have fewer casualties in your experiments?"
"Six days ago, your BioGen Innovations lab was littered with corpses!"
"Do you think no one knows?"
Elbert stepped forward arrogantly, hands behind his back. Elbert knew that the accidental killing of the Six Nations trainees by 'Winter' was no small matter. This would bring pressure from six major countries. He had to argue his case.
Everyone's expressions changed dramatically. This kid knew a lot!
Bertrand, the CEO of BioGen Innovations, shouted angrily, "Those were experimental losses. We're a modification organization, working for human evolution. We're the good guys here. Who are you? Just a civilian. You're all civilians. You're murderers!"
Elbert frowned. "So, just because you're a modification organization, you think you can kill people whenever you want?"
Bertrand was momentarily stunned, then shouted, "We're the strongest modification organization in the world, backed by multiple countries! We represent the future! No one will question us!"
The visitors from the Six Nations echoed, "That's right! We willingly sacrifice experimenters for the sake of research. We won't question BioGen Innovations!"
"A twisted world!"
Elbert chuckled softly. "So as long as you're powerful enough, you can escape punishment?"
"Fine!"
Elbert bent down, casually picked up Arc, and with a swing of his arm, threw him in front of Bertrand.
"I'll leave Arc's life with you!"
"Soon, I'll take his life legitimately!"
"If he dares to harm my family, he won't live past a month!"
Then, Elbert picked up Warm Winter, took Cold Winter's hand, and prepared to leave.
"Arrogant words!"
"Do you think you can just walk away?"
"He dares to defy authority, defy the rules, defy our six nations!"
The international visitors were instantly enraged, and the dozen modified individuals' auras exploded, ready to take action.
"Everyone, stop!"
Alaric waved his hand. "This is Veridiania. Even if a crime occurred, it's not under your jurisdiction. I'll handle this. You just wait for the results!"
Just then, Alaric suddenly remembered something.
Although he didn't know Elbert, Warm Winter and Cold Winter could be assigned by Ronnie Ford. Their identities were extraordinary! How could he let outsiders harm them?
"Alaric, you're protecting them!"
The international visitors were even more furious. "He killed our people from six nations. This is an international case!"
Alaric straightened his back. "So what?!"
"You..."
"Just you wait!"
"We'll initiate an international trial and call for international arbitration! We'll denounce you!"
"These murderers won't escape!"
"Only international punishment awaits them, water torture, electric torture!"
Alaric's heart trembled at the words. The future troubles were foreseeable. But at this point, he had to be tough. He said in a low voice, "The international trial process takes at least 30 days. Until then, they are under Veridiania's custody!"
And Elbert. He led Warm Winter and Cold Winter, ignoring everyone, and prepared to leave. No matter what Alaric said, the visitors from the six nations wouldn't let him go!
In the next moment, led by the witch, a dozen modified individuals surrounded Elbert.
"Who dares to stop me?"

Elbert, with Warm Winter and Cold Winter, left without a care!
Alaric directly blocked everyone. "I'll take them into custody!"
