Chapter 414 Means of Transportation

Elbert had just touched down in Victoria after a grueling flight. Even though Summer was hurt and danger was closing in, he knew visiting her wouldn't do any good. Without the means to protect himself, getting emotional was pointless. He had to focus on getting stronger before trouble hit, to keep his loved ones safe.

Just before a meteor was about to crash, Elbert hit the fourth stage of human evolution, realizing both its potential and his own shortcomings. Determined, he mapped out a whirlwind global trip to collect radioactive materials, aiming to hit the third stage of evolution in just a month. The journey was already eating up time; it had taken him 21 hours just to get from Veridiania to Victoria.

Elbert squinted at the sprawling base in front of him, officially a research facility for new military aircraft. But in reality, it was the infamous Victoria Area 52, whispered to be an alien research hub. Over the last decade, this place had churned out advanced aircraft like the 'Blackbird' and 'H-117 Nightingale,' all based on alien tech—a secret Elbert stumbled upon during a government hack.

Today, Elbert's mission was to "borrow" a craft from this base. He'd hesitated before, wrestling with his conscience, but now, time was ticking. The area was a military zone, making a stealthy entry a real challenge. Eight minutes later, Elbert found himself in the most secure underground level of the base, surprisingly deserted.

Robert, his AI sidekick, quickly knocked out the surveillance systems. Elbert stood there, awestruck. Under the bright lights, a 25-foot-tall, 60-foot-diameter disc-shaped craft sat silently, its seamless white surface radiating an awe-inspiring technological vibe.

Robert appeared, eyes wide at the UFO. "This is awesome... Elbert, let's snag it..."

Elbert frowned and asked, "Robert, can we not say 'snag'?"

"Which word then?"

"Forget it."

Elbert moved to a nearby computer, his fingers flying over the keyboard. Three minutes later, he cracked the network lock, and Robert dove in. Elbert's screen filled with data on the UFO, confirming it was a legit alien craft, powered by Moscovium, an element Victoria's scientists had managed to synthesize.

Robert buzzed with excitement, rattling off the craft's features: gravity manipulation, supersonic speed, invisibility, and even space jumps. Elbert couldn't help but grin at Robert's childlike excitement. The mention of gravity manipulation reminded Elbert of Marcus, the previous Savior, who claimed his powers were a gift from his mentor. Could his mentor have been an alien?

"Exactly!" Robert chimed in, "Marcus had traces of Moscovium too, but he's old, and it's almost gone, which is why he's weakened."

Elbert was floored. Was Marcus altered by radioactive elements? Did others know about this? A sense of unease crept in.

"Robert, can you fly this UFO?"

"Nope," Robert admitted. "It's all gene-command operated, something even Victoria's scientists haven't cracked."

Elbert felt deflated. Was this trip a bust?

Robert explained, "Gene commands are like fingerprint recognition; only specific genetic types can control it. It's irreplicable."

Elbert sighed, then noticed another aircraft nearby, sleek and streamlined. "What about this one, Robert?"

"Oh, that's a Victoria knockoff. It can fly using some gravity wave principles but needs a runway. Compared to the UFO, it's junk."

Robert clung to the UFO, ignoring the replica.

Elbert shook his head again.

"Wait, Elbert, check this out!" Robert displayed more data: Victoria's Secret 03, the Green Room, a government stash for bizarre creatures, extinct species, and alien specimens.

Elbert hesitated and said, "Robert, this is getting out of hand."

Robert whispered, "I want the big UFO."

Elbert's expression shifted instantly. "Alright, let's do it!"
