Chapter 421 Catching Fish

"What are you all just standing around for?"

"Get those tents up, get the gear ready, and pick your spots!"

"Let's hustle!"

A tall, good-looking guy with long hair strolled over to Lisa. This was John Joyce, a famous actor who was not only starring in the movie but also bankrolling and directing it.

"Check out Lisa, now that's what I call dedication!"

"Quit loafing around!"

He handed Lisa Brown a thermos. "Here, Lisa, have some hot water. Swing by my tent so we can go over the script."

For some reason, the whole crew felt John was being a bit sleazy, his eyes glued to Lisa's backside.

From a distance, Wall Murray sighed, "Bob, women like her are way out of our league."

His buddy, Bob Woods, wiped his mouth. "Captain, I heard Lisa's got a pretty wild personal life. Every actor she's worked with..."

"Cut it out!"

"I told you to stop dreaming about stuff like that!"

"Even if her personal life's a circus, you still wouldn't stand a chance!"

Wall took one last look at Lisa's graceful figure as she followed John into the tent, then pulled Bob towards the lake.

"Everyone's busy now, let's find some fun for ourselves!"

"Captain, what kind of fun?"

"This lake's got some good stuff!"

Wall grinned mysteriously. "It's been off-limits for 30 years. The catfish here are huge. Let's catch a few and grill them!"

"Aren't you worried about radiation?"

Wall shrugged. "What's there to worry about? We're fine, so the fish must be too!"

They reached the lake and found the water crystal clear, though the bottom was covered in weeds, hiding any soil.

Squinting, they suddenly noticed movement among the weeds.

"Wow, that's a big catfish!"

Bob exclaimed as a two-foot-long black fish swam out, triggering a chain reaction as more catfish emerged from the weeds.

With few people around, the fat catfish swam freely and leisurely.

"There are so many fish, it's like an infestation!"

Bob's eyes sparkled.

"Hey, everyone!"

"We're here with the 'Radiation Horror' crew, just 260 miles from the nuclear blast site in Galaxy District!"

A crew member was live-streaming with a selfie stick. Seeing the bodyguards find big fish, he rushed over.

With no mobile network signal, he had to use a satellite transmitter to stream, making data as precious as gold.

This was all part of John's plan to promote the film.

Just three minutes into the stream, the audience was buzzing. After all, this was Galaxy District!

Seeing the live stream, Wall got bold. "Hey, I'll jump in and snag some fish for you all, then we'll stream a barbecue!"

On camera, Wall kicked off his shoes and socks, stripped to the waist, and with a military knife in hand, dove into the lake with a splash!

Bubbles rose, then silence.

Why was there no movement?

Everyone grew tense, fearing something had happened.

Even the live stream chat froze as everyone stared at the water.

Splash!

Water erupted from the lake, and blood spread across the surface!

Everyone was shocked!

Bob immediately drew his gun!

But then a figure emerged from the water!

He held a two-foot-long catfish, the military knife embedded in its head, buried to the hilt!

"Got it!"

"First catch!"

Wall was unharmed, tossing the catfish onto the shore!

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief!

Bob chuckled, "No need to worry, my captain's a retired Victoria Navy SEAL. Catching fish is a walk in the park for him!"

Wall dove back into the water!

"Second catch!"

"One more and we'll have enough for the whole crew!"

Another catfish, its belly slit open, was thrown onto the shore!

Everyone shook their heads; the captain sure knew how to have fun!

But no one noticed the large shadow silently approaching beneath the water.

As Wall reveled in his catch, the water exploded with movement!

A massive mouth, as big as a manhole cover, suddenly opened!

It clamped onto Wall's upper body, dragging him down and disappearing!

The two on the shore were stunned!

Bob finally reacted, firing his gun at the water!

But the lake was calm, with no sign of anything.

Hearing the gunshots, the crew rushed over!

Lisa and John hurried out of the director's tent, both flushed.

Lisa's lips glistened with some liquid.

"What happened?" John shouted.

"There's a monster in the lake! The wall was dragged away by it!" Bob was panicked!

"What?"

"Everyone, spread out!" John shouted, drawing his handgun and running to the shore!

But as he spoke, the water erupted again!

A dark shape lunged towards the shore!

Everyone scattered in panic!

It was a giant catfish, nearly six feet long!

Incredibly, it had landed on the shore, thrashing about, with a bare-chested figure wrestling it!

Blood splattered!

A black knife gutted the giant catfish!

In the pool of blood, Wall slowly stood up, "Damn, that fish was strong!"

Everyone was stunned!

Captain Wall was not only unharmed but had killed the giant catfish!

Wall wiped the blood from his knife, striking a cool pose, "No need to worry, I'm here!"
