Chapter 499 Mr. Moore (2)
                    Paul Seven!
Dennis had just arrived at the waiting area and slowly took a seat.
Knox Moore approached, spotlight in tow.
"Well, look who it is."
Knox was still on his hoverboard. "I can't believe you actually showed up!"
"I never thought a four-year-old could compete! Did you finish your homework? Got a craft project with you?"
Knox chuckled lightly.
Dennis crossed his arms and ignored him.
Knox shook his head slightly and turned to Elbert. "Didn't expect you to be the rep for TO. With your kind of tech..."
Knox paused as Elbert slowly turned his head, his cold, unfeeling eyes fixed on him.
"Everything should be logical."
Knox forced a smile. "Mr. Cyborg, this is a tech competition. No using force."
Elbert replied softly, "Don't worry. With tech alone, I'll crush you."
"Good!" Knox laughed heartily. "As long as it's logical, get ready to leave in shame!"
At that moment, the host's voice echoed, "Haha, folks, the competition hasn't even started, and the tension is already high!"
"Now, let me introduce the first event!"
"The Robot Fitness Challenge!"
The host explained the rules in detail, and the audience listened intently.
In short, all the robots selected for this competition were humanoid robots, designed with human-like torsos and limbs.
The fitness challenge involved the robots walking a 1000-foot course, overcoming obstacles, climbing walls, and getting back up after falling.
These actions would be easy for humans, but for humanoid robots, they were incredibly difficult.
A simple walk for humans involves nearly all major muscles and joints. The coordination between muscles and nerves is extremely complex.
For robots, it requires precise coordination of levers and motors to maintain balance.
This is why most commercial robots use wheel-based movement.
The hardest part is getting back up after falling, which 99% of humanoid robots can't do.
This made the audience eagerly anticipate the event.
This was the most challenging robot competition in the community!
Next, 31 competing robots rose from the center of the stage, accompanied by fireworks, looking incredibly cool.
Two robots stood out the most. One was entirely white porcelain, with seamless joints, resembling a store mannequin. But everyone knew it contained cutting-edge technology inside.
It was labeled: 'Creator Knox, IL Intelligent Life!'
The other robot was rough, covered in mismatched parts, with exposed wires at the joints. Its eyes were two light bulbs, one big, one small, one red, one green, looking like it was pieced together from a junkyard.
It was labeled: 'Creator Little Bear, Name: Violent Bear!'
Elbert's mouth twitched.
This kid made such an ugly robot and used my name!
Dennis shrugged, his expression clearly saying, "What can I do? You don't support me. No money, no equipment. This is the best I could do!"
Elbert closed his eyes, refusing to look at him.
"The competition begins!"
The host announced, "First up, contestant number 1, Axiom-9, and contestant number 2, Echelon!"
The two robots were placed at the starting line, controlled remotely by their operators.
The rules were simple: complete the 1000-foot obstacle course in the shortest time to win.
However, the scene was laughable.
Axiom-9 started walking, trembling like an old man.
"Damn! It'll take forever to finish 300 feet!" someone in the audience complained.
Echelon was worse, falling after two steps and flailing on the ground.
In the following rounds, various robots took the stage.
Some couldn't cross obstacles, some couldn't climb stairs, some fell and couldn't get back up.
In the end, nine robots completed the course, taking between 15-20 minutes.
The leaderboard was updated, with the nine operators listed in order.
During this time, Elbert sat calmly, even somewhat relaxed.
Dennis, on the other hand, was extremely nervous, constantly monitoring the scene, calculating obstacle data, and analyzing opponents' failures.
His small frame ran back and forth on the stage, carrying various tools and a computer, continuously adjusting 'Violent Bear.'
He was making improvements on-site to ensure a smooth competition.
Elbert watched Dennis with intense focus, almost reaching a state of selflessness.
A strange emotion rose in his heart.
These days, he had neglected Dennis.
Seeing him so serious today, he couldn't help but feel moved.
"Keep it up, Dennis. If you truly love this, keep going. You'll definitely achieve something," Elbert thought to himself, nodding silently.
The host's voice came again, "Next, our defending champion, Mr. Moore's 'IL Intelligent Life!'"
"I must mention, Mr. Moore's Intelligent Life Group runs the world's largest smart store, with top-notch robot technology!"
"Today, we witness its technological prowess!"
As the host finished speaking, 'IL Intelligent Life' took the stage.
Knox stood to the side, controlling it with a tablet.
IL Intelligent Life waved to the audience, its movements smooth and fluid.
The countdown began!
IL Intelligent Life stepped forward steadily, gradually speeding up, almost running!
It easily crossed the obstacle line, climbed stairs effortlessly, fell into a pit, and calmly got back up!
The audience's eyes widened!
This was incredible!
The movements were so precise!
There was no difficulty at all!
Compared to other contestants, it was on a completely different level!
The final result was announced!
IL Intelligent Life completed the 1000-foot obstacle in just 4 minutes and 30 seconds, a third of the time others took!
The audience was silent!
Knox was too strong!
