Chapter 91 The Future of Robert Williams

Walking out of the FutureTech Group, Elbert couldn't help but sigh deeply.

'The affairs of wealthy families were incredibly complicated. The Brown Family was likely to experience significant turmoil soon,' thought him.

His thought was right.

Rex had become an idiot due to a reckless experiment, exposing numerous unsightly scandals—embezzling company funds and even hiring a hitman for personal gain. After hearing that he has fallen from grace and turned into an idiot, his wife, Jessica, would likely take action.

What Elbert could do now was wait.

Once Jessica made a move, he would immediately obtain solid evidence. Upon discovering that his eldest daughter was an international assassin, he hoped Mr. Brown wouldn't have a heart attack.

Elbert smiled bitterly to himself. He knew he might be hunted by an international assassin after he beat Rex. For now, returning to the Brown Family estate was out of the question to him.

"I need to find a place to stay," Elbert muttered to himself, pulling out his phone. He glanced at his account balance, totaling over 100 billion in cash—a staggering number. But the balance had stopped growing a few days ago.

Robert had told Elbert that neither futures nor stocks could be operated anymore because Elbert's virtual account had become too conspicuous.

Repeatedly breaking single-day profit records in the futures and stock markets had made him the most mysterious and watched individual investor in the recent market.

Countless financial institutions were trying every possible way to gather information about Elbert. Most importantly, Robert's operating speed had already surpassed the highest computational speed of existing computers. If this continued, it might alert regulatory agencies, potentially leading to a stock market shutdown and a thorough investigation of funds.

Elbert didn't want to cause any trouble. Besides, money had no meaning to him now.

"Elbert, after integrating network information for more than ten days, my core algorithm has been optimized and can be upgraded from weak AI level 3 to level 4 at any time," Robert's voice suddenly came through.

Elbert couldn't help but get curious. He almost forgot that his right eye, the omnipotent Robert was still a 'child.'

"What do you need me to do?" Elbert asked.

Robert replied, "I need a place, quiet and secluded, preferably mechanized. In the next sequence, I will master a new field of the Internet of Everything: mechanical coordination! Simply put, it's 'manufacturing!'"

Then, a document appeared in Elbert's view.

It was a large venue covering 20,000 square meters in the suburbs of Wavehaven. From a distance, it looked like a huge, overturned dome. But this venue had been abandoned for a long time, with weeds growing all around! A rusty sign at the entrance read: Wavehaven Technology Exhibition Hall.

'Here?' Elbert instinctively exclaimed when he saw the building.

This was a place he frequented during his four years of college. It was originally a new technology exhibition hall where university students around Wavehaven would bring their new scientific inventions for display.

Unexpectedly, this venue had been open for less than two years. Then, due to the escape of subsequent contractors and the termination of surrounding road construction, it slowly became abandoned. Since then, it had been unmanaged.

Various universities and factories continually dumped failed research or experimental waste equipment here. Gradually, the amount of obsolete machinery increased. It was also called—the Experimental Graveyard!

Robert chimed in, "This is simply the best place! However, it belonged to Wavehaven University. I can't complete the purchase through the network."

Elbert's eyes flickered, and he nodded lightly. "I'll handle this; it's time to reconnect with some old contacts!"

Wavehaven University was his alma mater.

Since his eye injury three years ago, Elbert had never returned. Naturally, he lost contact with his former teachers, friends, and classmates.

At the Laboratory Building, on the 3rd floor, outside a lecture hall, Elbert quietly watched through the window as Professor Gavin Rosen gave a lecture to hundreds of students. Gavin Rosen, a professor in the Department of Electronic Computing at Wavehaven University, was a top computer expert in Veridiania. He was one of the teachers who valued Elbert the most.

Professor Gavin said, "According to current theories, artificial intelligence is divided into three levels: weak AI, strong AI, and super AI!"

"Professor, what's the difference between these three levels?" a student raised his hand and asked.

Professor Gavin pondered for a moment. "The level doesn't matter; as long as it can be called artificial intelligence, it surpasses our understanding! First, weak AI has powerful computational speed and basic human-like thinking. Combined, it can control all human networks and learn all the knowledge stored on the internet since its inception."

A student exclaimed. "Master all knowledge? Wouldn't that be omniscient?"

Professor Gavin shook his head slightly. "Let's talk about the next level, strong AI. Strong AI can combine and utilize all knowledge, possessing manufacturing awareness. When strong AI reaches its peak, it can control everything, truly mastering nanotechnology."

He added, "Manipulating matter at the atomic level is just one step away, a difference of magnitude of about 0.1 nanometers. It can use nanobots to cure all diseases, manufacture any weapon, and even silently destroy a city!"

Professor Gavin took a sip of coffee and continued. "And super AI, that is something beyond our comprehension! When a super AI is created, it will be the most powerful force. Humans can only submit! Its IQ could reach millions! Imagine, if our human brains can invent Wi-Fi, what could a brain 12,050 times smarter than ours create? It could manipulate the position of every atom at will!"

On top of that, he said, "It could change the essence of this world! Make humans immortal, control the climate, and protect the Earth, all with ease! Those supernatural abilities belonging to a deity would be as easy as flipping a light switch for super AI. When a super AI is born, it would be like an omnipotent god descending to Earth. What we need to consider is whether the person controlling it is a benevolent ruler!"
