"Captain!" The radio guy pointed a shaky finger at the sky. "They got missiles, man! Look, they're coming!"
The merc leader squinted his eyes.
Sure enough, he saw a white dot falling from way out there!
"Get the machine gun and shoot it down! Blow it up! Veridiania's crappy missiles!" The scar-faced dude grabbed his gun and started firing like a madman!
But he couldn't even hit a bird!
The radio guy put down his binoculars, looking scared out of his mind. "Captain, that's not a missile, it's a dude, a guy in white clothes!"
"Bullshit! You're just freaked out by Veridiania!" The scar-faced guy arrogantly reloaded his gun and looked up again!
He saw the figure falling from the sky, getting bigger and bigger!
In a split second, the guy's knees filled the scar-faced dude's whole view!
With a boom, a burst of blood mist exploded!
The scar-faced guy's head was blown to bits!
Only half of his body was left hanging out of the tank cockpit, wobbling.
The radio guy, covered in blood, stood there with his mouth wide open, totally shocked!
But Elbert didn't waste a second.
He grabbed the radio guy by the collar and tossed him away, sending him flying out of sight!
The other mercs were stunned for a moment, wondering if their captain was dead.
They finally snapped out of it!
They started shooting like crazy, bullets flying everywhere!
But Elbert had already jumped into the tank cockpit!
Bullets hit the tank's armor but couldn't get through!
In a flash, a metallic cracking sound came from inside the M1 main battle tank!
With a bang, thick smoke clouded the spot.
The tank's turret was twisted off from the inside by the guy in white, who lifted it up and used it as a shield!
The mercs around looked like they'd seen a god!
He was one of Veridiania's modified humans!
He could tear apart a tank with his bare hands.
Elbert, carrying the tank turret, jumped up without any trouble!
He landed hard on a nearby armored vehicle!

Robert ordered, "Elbert, get your ass back for phase upgrades. If you can control liquid metal, this kinda fight will be a cakewalk! Let's handle this mess first!"

Elbert moved like a flash, weaving in and out of the tanks!
Using the tanks for cover and his own speed, he dodged the hail of bullets!
He seized the moment, tearing the tanks apart.
Turning the steel scraps into weapons, he kept chucking them at the mercs!

They knocked down the mercs one by one, thanks to the jungle terrain for cover!
Once Elbert got close, it was like a wolf among sheep!

The mercs, in disarray, looked towards the source with unprecedented fear, their souls almost leaving their bodies!
They were too stunned to move!
283 Apex Guardians warriors shot out!
Their muscles had doubled in size, even their uniforms were torn to shreds!
They rushed into the battlefield and were momentarily stunned!
Elbert alone had already caused such devastation!
But in an instant, their eyes filled with raging fury and they shouted at the trembling mercs, "Those who invade Veridiania's borders will rest here forever!"
Then, the Apex Guardians warriors charged into the battlefield!

Elbert on the treetop nodded slightly.
