Chapter 298 Commendation Notice
After everything settled down, Commander Wyatt showed up with his team and spotted Shepherd's body. He let out a big sigh of relief.
Elbert was nowhere in sight.
With a mix of emotions, Commander Wyatt said, "To take on such a tough opponent, Mr. Perry must be seriously hurt!"
Then he added, "But Mr. Perry cares about his image and doesn't want us to see him looking rough!"
Commander Wyatt pulled out a handkerchief and wiped his eyes. He sighed, "FIC, truly deserving of the title Hero Squad. Herisked his necks to save us in Evalia, and he doesn't even want me to mention his name. Mr. Perry is willing to be an unsung hero. I can't go against his wishes, but I have to make an international statement to formally thank FIC!"
Just then, Harper was seen slowly walking over, leaning against the wall for support.
She had been watching the fight between Elbert and Shepherd.
Elbert seemed to be struggling, but something felt off to her.
It always seemed like Elbert was holding back.
She walked over to Shepherd's side, squatted down, and examined the body.
Commander Wyatt said emotionally, "Saint Harper, Mr. Perry fought with everything he had to take down the enemy. He saved you, and also preserved Evalia's reputation on the international stage!"
Then he added, "Look at this mess, the whole building collapsed during the fight. Mr. Perry must be seriously injured. We owe him big time."
Harper didn't say a word.
Using all her strength, she turned over Shepherd's massive body and examined it closely.
Such a powerful cyborg, with no visible injuries, just dead like that?
Something was definitely off!
Finally, Harper squinted and found a thin blood mark on Shepherd's chest.
She frowned and pressed hard on the chest, seeing some minced flesh oozing out from the wound.
Harper was shocked.
It was the heart, turned into minced meat.
This was what killed Shepherd.
Harper's eyes widened. What kind of attack could instantly kill such a powerful cyborg?
More importantly, Elbert did it so quietly, completely shredding his heart.
His name was Mr. Perry. His abilities had awakened, with some kind of remote attack power.
Harper's eyes sparkled, her mind filled with Elbert's image.
'You are so powerful, the most powerful man I've ever seen. But you're also very childish. You even acted in front of me, pretending the fight was tough! You can't fool me, I was a military doctor before,' Harper's breathing quickened, 'I must fulfill the mission of a saint, to cultivate excellent next-generation saints for the people. This sower must be Mr. Perry.'
Suddenly, Harper raised her head, looking firmly at Commander Wyatt, "Commander, I'm willing to participate in that international cyborg tournament you mentioned earlier."
Commander Wyatt was stunned and asked in confusion, "Why? Didn't you refuse to participate in such fights before?"
"I want to compete in the tournament and face Veridiania. Mr. Perry must not be an unknown figure in Veridiania," Harper replied.
A complex expression flashed across Harper's face. "I want to find him, have kids, and raise the next generation."
Commander Wyatt's communicator slipped from his hand and hit the ground.
What was the saint talking about?
Meanwhile, in the northern part of Victoria, at the FIC branch building, Robbins was pacing back and forth in his office.
The Evalia incident had left him restless.
'Who took down Perseus? When will they come forward and clear things up?' Robbins wondered.
Finally, the phone in his office rang again.
"Hello, Robbins! The threat of Perseus has been completely eliminated! Their leader is dead too!"
It was Commander Wyatt's excited voice on the other end, "I must admit, the strength and magnanimity of you FIC members are far beyond the reach of our Evalia army! I called to salute the heroes! We will never forget your help, and the people of Evalia will remember it forever! Plus, I've got authorization from the head of state to announce your significant contribution to the world!"
Robbins listened, growing more confused. "Wait a minute, are you sure? To be honest, our team is still on the way!"
"I'm absolutely sure," Commander Wyatt's tone grew more excited, "I saw it with my own eyes. He is a member of your FIC, but he had another mission and didn't want me to reveal his name. Captain Robbins, don't ask too many questions. In short, I witnessed FIC's strength firsthand. Our nation has decided to fully support your FIC's status in society!"
After hanging up the phone, Robbins fell silent.
The misunderstanding was growing. It must have been that unknown expert who helped Evalia but was mistaken by Commander Wyatt.
After thinking for a moment, Robbins gritted his teeth. He murmured, "If this gets out, our FIC will be even more embarrassed. We need to clear this up now."
Just as Robbins was organizing his thoughts, preparing to make another call, there was a knock on the door.
A member of FIC walked in, beaming. "Report, Captain, Castilia has sent a congratulatory message, congratulating us on defeating Perseus and expressing their highest respect!"
Then several more FIC communicators walked into the office.
"Report, Captain, Tajikistan has sent a congratulatory message, congratulating us on defeating the Perseus organization and expressing their willingness to cooperate with us," one communicator said.
"Report, Captain, Andrastan's oil company has sent a message, expressing their willingness to fund us to continue expanding FIC's influence," another communicator said.
"Report, Captain, Silvania has sent a request. Their national transformation agency wants to cooperate with us to jointly develop cyborg technology," another communicator said.
"Report, Captain, we have made it to the international alliance's internal news! Many spokespersons are recognizing our FIC, believing we can become the world's number one cyborg regulatory agency and are creating public opinion for us," the last communicator said.
Robbins was dumbfounded!
