Chapter 466 Satellite Signal

Elbert was heading north, his feet kicking up the yellow sand that constantly fed him information. Just moments ago, when the ancient city of the Golden Kingdom appeared, he had keenly noticed an entrance—a tunnel supported by metal. Though it had since collapsed, the small metal fragments left behind still revealed the tunnel's extension.

The Apocalypse Association, hiding in the shadows, used gold as its most reliable and universal currency. Those dozens of civilian cults had been collecting gold for the Apocalypse Association. With Herschel, a gene manipulator who could control sand, it was no surprise they had discovered the Golden Kingdom ruins early on. They likely used the tunnel to secretly transfer all the gold. Elbert suspected the other end of the tunnel led to the Apocalypse Association's second desert base.

Sure enough, 50 miles north of the Golden Kingdom ruins, Elbert's senses detected a massive underground structure. Standing atop the sand, he activated his ability to control silicon elements. A vortex began to form in front of him, spinning faster and faster, flinging sand away and deepening the internal space. In moments, a giant pit, 30 feet in diameter and 100 feet deep, had formed, revealing a small section of the underground fortress. The walls were made of lead and coated with top-tier radar-resistant materials, capable of blocking all detectors.

Elbert smiled lightly, liquid metal forming into a long blade. With a flick of his arm, two black flashes cut a 'skylight' into the fortress's top. He didn't enter but instead bowed his head and said in a deep voice, "Elbert here, requesting an audience."

He then stepped back and waited quietly. Moments later, a massive explosion erupted from below, tons of sand thrown high into the air as the ground collapsed. The deafening blasts continued, but Elbert remained unfazed, observing everything calmly. As expected, the Apocalypse Association was as cowardly as ever, like a peculiar breed of sheep known as 'fainting goats' that collapse and play dead when startled, even twitching their limbs. The Apocalypse Association, once exposed, would immediately self-destruct and blow everything up.

A cold smile flashed across Elbert's face. "Robert, have you tracked the satellite signal?"

"Got it!" Robert appeared, displaying an image of space behind him. "The satellite is floating over the Eastern Hemisphere, belonging to a communications company under Victoria. The company is a shell, and the satellite is disguised as space debris, a rocket remnant. There’s so much junk in space that even if someone got close, they wouldn’t notice."

Elbert nodded slightly. "Hack into the satellite system quietly, without revealing yourself."

"I've got Paul Four's signature ready!" Robert said. Elbert shook his head. "Robert, let's keep it low-key this time. I want the Apocalypse Association to disappear without a trace."

Robert nodded. "Got it, Elbert. The satellite's communicating with the ground. I've captured several coordinates: 11.2N, 142.115E; 53.85N, 372.82E; 31.65N, 72.82E. These places are all pretty unusual. The first is the Norden Trench, the second is the Evalia Rift Valley, and the third is a rapidly moving coordinate, probably a stratospheric aircraft."

Elbert thought for a moment. The Apocalypse Association was always cautious, so the most remote location was likely their headquarters. The Norden Trench, deep underwater, was almost devoid of human presence.

"Robert, let's go!" Elbert said as the Celestial Pioneer arrived.

Robert added, "From here, we can check both the Evalia Rift Valley and the Norden Trench."

"Sounds good," Elbert replied, boarding the Celestial Pioneer.

Ten minutes later, as Elbert was en route, Robert suddenly exclaimed, "Elbert, the satellite's gone nuts! It's frantically transmitting signals, disguised as strange frequencies mimicking alien transmissions intercepted in human history. It's targeting top astronomical observatories worldwide. The Apocalypse Association is pretending to be aliens! They might fool everyone!"

Elbert was puzzled. "What's their game?"

Robert translated, "The signal says, 'In four days, cleanse human civilization.'"

Elbert's expression turned serious. It seemed like a prank, but coming from the Apocalypse Association, they must be plotting something big.

"Robert, speed up!"

Three hours later, Elbert arrived at the Evalia Rift Valley. Following the coordinates, he found a deeply hidden cave, likely a former defense installation repurposed by the Apocalypse Association. The scene inside was gruesome, with bloodstains everywhere—over a hundred spots, not a single survivor. In the massive cave, an unfinished spacecraft resembling a giant ship was displayed, about 500 feet long and 150 feet wide, a colossal metal structure.

Elbert's brows furrowed as he examined the area. An English nameplate read: Noah. Unbelievable, they even recreated something from scripture?

Robert explained, "Noah's Ark is real, discovered in the eastern Solstice on Mount Ararat, over 12,000 feet high, with pottery, ropes, and various animal gene remnants."

Elbert dismissed the details. "Robert, those aren't important. What's this thing?"

Robert replied, "It's designed for cargo transport, with a propulsion system resembling a warp drive, but it's all superficial. The core technology can't support flight; it's just for show. Only our Celestial Pioneer has true anti-gravity tech. We could modify this Noah to make it fly."

Elbert's expression tightened. "Robert, we need to understand who the Apocalypse Association is deceiving and what they're planning. Let's move to the next location!"
