Chapter 43 Mr. Brown Hosted A Banquet
In the top-floor suite of the Celestria International Hotel, Wavehaven's richest man, Mr. Brown, was lying on a lounger on the terrace, overlooking the night view of Celestria City.
"Sir, take a look at this information. It's quite interesting," the old butler said, handing over some files from behind.
'The FutureTech Group Medical Equipment Sales Ranking, First Place: Lori and Elbert, Amount: $2 billion!'
A look of surprise flashed across Mr. Brown's face.
'Two billion dollars is no small amount, even for FutureTech Group. The more important is that it's a single order!' he thought.
"Sir, the young lady has been doing exceptionally well lately," the old butler said with a slight smile.
"I know exactly what kind of capabilities Lori has; don't worry." Mr. Brown sat up, intrigued. "Jesse, can't you see the key point in this file?"
"Of course, sir, the key point is Mr. Elbert," the old butler bowed slightly. "Mr. Perry's great talent is so outstanding."
"Jesse," Mr. Brown sighed, "I'm old. I don't have many years left. No matter how much I do to stabilize the Brown Family's foundation, it probably won't compare to bringing in a great talent for the Brown Family! And Elbert is such a person; this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!"
"Moreover, he is not just a great talent; as you said, he is an extraordinary talent of our time!"
"Sir, I understand what you mean, but..." Jesse hesitated for a moment, "But from my observation, Elbert doesn't seem to be interested in our Brown Family, and he even seems a bit indifferent!"
"Of course, I know," Mr. Brown smiled slightly. "Someone as excellent as Elbert is inevitably arrogant! He is still too young! I will make him settle down and take over the Brown Family!"
As Mr. Brown spoke, his eyes were resolute.
Having served him for nearly 30 years, the butler Jesse was slightly surprised. It had been at least ten years since he had seen the master so determined to accomplish something!
"Jesse, go and handle two things," Mr. Brown pondered. "First, send a message to the group, assigning all marketing work for the home medical equipment project to Lori!"
"Sir, do you want to reconsider?" Jesse said in surprise, "The home medical equipment project has nearly a billion dollars invested, and it took three years of research and development. It's just been launched! It's also our group's key strategic focus, deciding our entire year's revenue!"
"The young lady has only been working for three years. Isn't it a bit risky to entrust her with this?"
Mr. Brown's expression flickered, "I can't rely solely on Lori; I'm betting on that kid Elbert! Don't you remember Elbert saying he liked Lori? They spend all their time together and just closed a $2 billion order."
"I understand," Jesse suddenly realized. "If you directly ask Mr. Elbert for help, he might refuse, so you used this strategy!"
Mr. Brown smiled slightly, "Fortunately, my daughter is excellent and has captivated that his heart."
Jesse nodded in agreement. "Sir, what's the second thing?"
"Second, in five days, I will return to the Wavehaven and host a banquet at the Brown Family estate!" Mr. Brown stood up, looking at the distant scenery with his hands behind his back. "Coincidentally, my two old friends' sons have both returned from overseas this year, and they have both achieved remarkable success! What the most important is they both like Lori!"
"I want to create an opportunity for them! These two, Rex, Lori, and Elbert, these young talents will gather together! Although Elbert is excellent, he still has a considerable gap compared to them! Young people love to compare, and I believe that by then, Elbert will naturally realize his shortcomings and feel the threat! Jesse was stunned. "Sir, are you talking about General Jeffery?"
"Exactly!" Mr. Brown nodded. "General Jeffery's mere presence is enough to intimidate these young people! He is someone these kids will always look up to! When Elbert and the others meet him, they will understand what it means to have reverence! Their little achievements are still far from enough! I will make these young people realize that they need to stay humble and work sincerely!"
The more Mr. Brown thought about it, the more satisfied he became. He couldn't help but start singing!
"By the way, Jesse, since General Jeffery is coming, don't forget to invite Leonard. They have been comrades-in-arms for many years! Two military big shots, I bet they'll scare those kids out of their wits! And Elbert will surely behave himself and become my son-in-law and successor!"
