Chapter 55 CEO Alvin
The top management team had assembled in the expansive conference room at Meta Platforms Headquarters, creating an unusually tense atmosphere. Cassius, the Deputy General Manager, furrowed his brow at this critical moment.
A 30-page analysis of the Gemini APP's new features was displayed on the large screen, and a man in a suit started reporting.
"Mr. Greene, the Gemini APP's latest feature has revolutionized customer service from one-on-one to one-to-many interactions. The product's appeal now extends beyond connecting like-minded individuals to attracting groups of clients with similar interests. Their ability to engage these groups is remarkable. The feature has only been live for 30 minutes, and their user base has surged again, nearing 600 million. We are not far behind."
"That's enough." Cassius impatiently interrupted his subordinate's report. "Have you identified the company behind this Gemini APP?"
"Yes. The registered individual is named Paul Three, and the company address is at Skyrise Tower CBD Building," a secretary-like person promptly reported.
"Paul Three? I have never heard of him. Likely a newcomer." Cassius mused for a moment before exclaiming. "Mr. Blake."
"I'm here."
"You need to go to their company for a face-to-face meeting. Since we can't replicate their technology, let's negotiate an acquisition."
"I'll authorize you with 5 billion, no, 10 billion."
"Secure the funds and acquire them."
"No one can, and no one dares to refuse Meta Platforms' acquisition."
Upon hearing the staggering amount, Mr. Blake, a middle-aged man, felt stunned and under immense pressure. He nodded solemnly. "Mr. Greene, rest assured, I ensure we will succeed."
Meanwhile, outside Skyrise Tower, Elbert was engrossed in data analysis when suddenly Alvin tapped him on the shoulder. Sneaking up behind Elbert, Alvin prepared to give him a big hug but found himself stumbling instead.
"My goodness," Alvin exclaimed, regaining his composure.
Elbert stood firm. His body was as steady as a javelin, unmoving.
"Elbert, you've been hitting the gym," Alvin remarked.
Seeing Alvin's energetic approach, Elbert smiled. "I've been working out. You, on the other hand, seem to have regressed."
"You're joking," Alvin retorted, scratching his head and eyeing the towering Skyrise Tower. "You mentioned starting a company. It's not located here, is it? Rent here must be sky-high."
"Come and see for yourself," Elbert replied mysteriously, leading the way.
As they entered the elevator, Elbert pressed the button for the 87th floor directly.
Alvin sighed. "You chose a high floor."
Upon reaching the 87th floor, they found a corridor lined with offices boasting expansive windows and breathtaking views. The offices were still in the process of being occupied, with scattered workers making adjustments.
Walking through the corridor, Elbert maintained his focus while Alvin continued to marvel at the luxurious surroundings.
"Alvin, I'm working on an internet project, a real-time communication platform," Elbert explained. "The first version has been completed and was launched yesterday."
Alvin's expression turned serious. "You can count on us to build a team, handle daily operations, and manage reception. I prefer to remain incognito for now, so you'll handle any public appearances."
"Our company is well-equipped in terms of funds, technology, and personnel. You can trust us," Alvin assured.
Elbert chuckled. "I have faith in our capabilities."
"How confident you are," Alvin exclaimed.
They climbed to the 88th floor through the stairwell.
As they strolled through the vibrant environment, Elbert shared, "We are strong enough to reject all upcoming investment offers from companies and large groups seeking to acquire us."
"Having entrepreneurial dreams is great, but boasting isn't your style," Alvin teased.
Amid laughter and cheers, they reached the spacious rooftop, resembling a football field with a helipad, a small golf course, and a hanging swimming pool — absolute luxury.
"Capitalism is evil," Alvin remarked, though his eyes betrayed his excitement.
"Alvin, we've known each other for 7 years, right?" Elbert continued. "You are one of the few people I trust completely."
"You've always been my unwavering supporter, never underestimating me in my highs and lows."
"Nonsense. Besides me, no one treats you like I do."
"With a call from you, I'd drop everything to help."
Alvin blinked, his eyes glistening. "You're getting sentimental. Just tell me what you need. Is it about funds? I have 150,000 saved up, ready to transfer anytime."
Elbert nodded. "I'll provide you with the company's financial details later. You can manage it."
Alvin's contribution wasn't necessary. The Creator Company, registered under Robert Williams, had already received a turnover of 5 billion.
"I've prepared a document outlining the company's operations and future plans. It's in your email and will keep you busy for a few days," Elbert added.
"You're quick to put me to work."
As they reached the terrace's edge, the majestic Wavehaven landscape unfolded before them.
"By the way." Alvin, leaning on the railing, turned to Elbert. "You led me through three floors. Which room is our company in?"
Elbert smiled and said, "All of them."
"Even this rooftop."
"What?"
"This entire three floors."
Alvin exclaimed, almost losing his balance in astonishment.
"What kind of company have you started." Elbert shrugged, calmly stating, "The company is called Creator."
"We currently have one product — the Gemini APP."
"My goodness," Alvin exclaimed again, nearly losing his balance on the 89th floor
