Right outside Lab Graveyard.
The logistics dude from ApexGuardians was busy moving radium elements around.
With a nod from Elbert, they hauled the stuff into Lab Graveyard.
Outta nowhere, he strolled past Quentin's tent.
He gave it a quick look and then squinted.
This guy was wearing a tracksuit, with a shiny metal baseball bat chillin' next to him.
The ApexGuardians logistics dude suddenly stopped, furrowed his brow, and asked, "Yo, what's your name, man?"
"Huh?Me?" Quentin ripped off a piece of chicken and shoved it in his mouth.
Quentin clapped his hands, looked up, and said, "I'm Quentin! What’s up?"
The logistics dude was taken aback at first, then his eyes lit up. "Cool, I'll remember you!"
He didn’t say anything else, just turned around and got back to moving the radium.
"Weirdo!" Quentin went back to roasting his chicken!
Over on Elbert's side.
Trinity brushed her hair back. "I gotta bounce for a bit. Lately, a bunch of labs have been going nuts with their mods, showing off modified humans. FIC's got a lot on its plate, I need to get back to my crew."
Elbert gave a slight nod.
He instinctively looked up some info and saw the news was all about one thing!

At first, a lot of folks seriously doubted these news reports.
They thought it was just some clickbait hype.
But after some people shared a few sneaky videos, the comment section blew up and many couldn’t believe their eyes!
Even the skeptics went quiet!
One of the videos was shot at night.
The person’s phone was shaking, secretly filming a weird figure walking alone in the wilderness.
Ahead of him was a power plant surrounded by barbed wire.
The person filming was whispering, "This guy’s an idiot. He’s about to walk into the fence!"
But then, something wild happened!
In the dark, the dude suddenly lit up with electric arcs, like a freakin' human lightning bolt!
Then he zoomed forward, his body turning into pure electricity, zipping right through the barbed wire and vanishing in a flash!
"What the hell?" The person filming kept shouting!
They rushed to the barbed wire, only to find a human-shaped hole burned through the thick wire!
The second video.
A family was having a picnic in the suburbs. While a guy was snapping pics of his adorable daughter, a car on the roadside suddenly had a tire blowout and went out of control, heading straight for the little girl!
The guy screamed, but he was too far away to save her in time!
At the last second, a figure in a baseball cap dashed out, curled up slightly, and blocked the car from hitting the girl!
With a loud crash, smoke spread everywhere!
The little girl screamed in fear but was totally fine!
And the figure in the baseball cap stood up from the wrecked car hood.
He lowered his head, the long brim of his cap hiding half his face, and nodded to the girl's dad.
He dusted off his cap and walked away!
As soon as these two videos hit the internet, the comments section went nuts!

Elbert snickered.
But his brows furrowed slightly.

And those videos were all shared by regular folks.
He'd only been gone for three days and this kind of info suddenly flooded in?
It was definitely not a coincidence.
Behind these seemingly crazy news stories, there had to be some unknown force pushing it!
It was slowly making the public accept the existence of modified humans!
And what puzzled Elbert the most was the official department's silence, which could totally freak people out.
