Chapter 307 Information Gathering

Elbert couldn't exactly spill the beans about where the 'waiter' came from, 'cause it was actually a part of Robert Williams.

When Robert Williams hit Weak AI Sequence 4, it got this new Internet of Everything feature.

At first, Elbert just used it to run the assembly lines and test subjects in Lab Graveyard.

But now, with Robert Williams leveling up to Weak AI Sequence 7, it was starting to figure out how to become a Strong AI.

Just grabbing info from the internet wasn't cutting it. It needed real, natural behavior data.

By tapping into the variety of human behaviors, it could find more patterns, get better at predicting stuff, refine its algorithms, and break through computational limits.

Eventually, it could become a superbrain.

To pull this off, they needed tons of data from all sorts of sources!

So, Robert Williams and Elbert decided to split off the Internet of Everything feature.

They created an independent entity to blend into people's lives through the smart industry!

This way, it could collect data on its own and evolve!

The smart industry was just the beginning! Down the line, it could move into manufacturing, communications, transportation, and even the military!

Gathering as much data as possible! One day, when Robert Williams reabsorbed the 'waiter,' the massive database could potentially create the world's first Strong AI!

But for now, Elbert noticed a big problem.

The network techs Elowen brought in, while respectful, looked pretty confused.

And the gang members? They were totally lost.

Elbert frowned. Clearly, there was still a lot to do!

He needed to get stronger too!

With the era of human modification coming, peace wasn't in the cards for him either!

As for the smart industry, Elbert had already told Elowen to set up a company called Pioneer.

And right now, Pioneer was no joke! It had nearly 600 patented robotic technologies and the five robot factories Melissa had acquired.

Plus, all the physical stores and the 'waiter' it would manage in the future.

Melissa could be the general manager, but they needed a tech whiz!

The confused Black Fox gang members all looked at Dennis, who was sitting nearby.

This kid seemed to get everything and had been teaching them a lot lately.

Elbert also glanced at the boy.

Seeing Elbert's thoughts, Elowen said, "Sir, worried about a tech manager? Have you thought about reaching out to the Gemini APP? They've got tons of talent!"

Most people didn't know Paul Two was actually Paul Three!

So, Elowen subtly hinted that Elbert could use the Gemini APP's resources.

Elbert shook his head slightly.

Keeping the smart industry separate from the Gemini APP was on purpose.

If people knew the Gemini APP was expanding into the offline market, it would drive some folks nuts!

In the future, Creator and Pioneer would merge to form a massive online and offline empire!

But that was for later!

Just as Elbert was feeling a bit stuck, his phone rang.

It was his old classmate, Eric, who'd just been promoted to Deputy Director of the Wavehaven Cybersecurity Bureau.

Elbert stepped outside to take the call. "Elbert, you're killing me!" Eric was as grumpy as ever!

Elbert chuckled, "Still dealing with the fallout from Paul Four?"

"No! Remember Ashley, the top hacker in Veridiania? She's got a huge crush on you! She bugs me every day to introduce you. I can't take it anymore. You need to meet her, she's driving me nuts," Eric yelled.

Listening to Eric's rant, Elbert couldn't help but smile.

He needed a network whiz, and here came the top female hacker. Perfect timing.

Although Ashley was head-over-heels for him, he kept his cool.

Elbert grinned and said, "Let's meet at the Luminous Hall on the 5th floor."

"Luminous Hall?" Eric sounded shocked. "Isn't that gang territory? Are you mixing with the underworld now? Whatever, just wait there!"

Twenty minutes later, the door swung open.

Ashley walked in, looking the same as ever.

Tight jeans showing off her figure, and a T-shirt on top.

But she was clearly taken aback by the scene. Her eyes were full of confusion as she looked at Elbert.

No one would guess this girl was once a top hacker who messed with government systems.

Elbert smiled, "Ashley, have a seat. We're talking about the company's software system, and we could use your input."

"Okay." Ashley sat down and glanced around.

She was puzzled why Mr. Paul Four's colleagues all looked like gangsters.

Elbert didn't hold back.

He explained the principles, functions, and future of the 'waiter'!

The gang leaders struggled to stay awake, while the network techs were blown away.

Ashley stayed silent, her eyes wide and sparkling. She'd forgotten all about making friends.

She was completely awed by the 'waiter' system.

Then, Elbert laid out the whole industry plan, marketing strategies, and partnership methods.

That was when the gang leaders perked up.

Elbert's plan was simple.

Start in Wavehaven, fill it with smart stores. Once the 'waiter' hit a certain level, expand outward.

The marketing strategy was to keep things mysterious during the prep period.

For partnerships, other gang leaders would use a franchise model.

They'd hold 60% of the shares, and Pioneer would hold 40%, providing software and robots.

Amid the excited discussions, Ashley's voice piped up, "Mr. Paul Two, is your company still hiring?"

Ashley had caught on that everyone called Elbert Paul Two.

Elbert had been waiting for this. He smiled, "Of course, welcome aboard, Miss Thompson!"

Ashley was thrilled!

The meeting went on for three days. By the early morning of the third day, stores from 12 gangs in Wavehaven, plus over 800 shops Pioneer had acquired or leased, all started renovations at the same time.

No one revealed what these stores were for. They just put up the same sign.

A white background with a single line of text: [The Future, Now!]

These signs popped up all over Wavehaven overnight.

The whole city was buzzing with curiosity! Speculations were flying!

Unknown: [What kind of stores are these?]

Unknown: [So mysterious!]

Unknown: [What company can open 800 stores overnight?]

Unknown: [So excited!]

Unknown: [My wallet's ready!]

Only Leonard, the big shot in Wavehaven's police force, had a clue.

Many of these stores were gang properties!

More importantly, these stores were focused on improving people's livelihood during this time of rampant human modifications.

Seeing the growing influence of these stores, Leonard took a sip from his thermos and sighed, "What's the most terrifying? An educated rogue!"
