Chapter 241 A Gathering Under the Moon

Elbert finally burst into laughter and threw an arm around Christopher's shoulder. "You silly Christopher, all you ever do is fight!"

Christopher still looked disdainful. "There's nothing a good punch can't solve!"

Elbert pouted and nodded. "True enough."

Christopher pointed to the two bottles of liquor on the table. "You finally came back; let's drink to our heart's content."

Just then, a screeching sound came from outside.

A flashy red BMW 3 Series had come to a sudden stop at the door.

The car's stereo was blaring.

In Riverside Town, this was considered a luxury car.

A young man in a suit, carrying a briefcase, and sporting a slicked-back hairstyle got out of the car.

He walked with a swagger, whistling arrogantly.

"It's rare to see this car here!"

The slick-haired young man circled Elbert's car, whistling all the while.

This was Jonathan Hill, Elbert's classmate.

He worked with his father in the realm of real estate in the city, specializing in building construction. They amassed quite a bit of wealth.

Christopher tilted his head back. "I invited him to drink together."

"Elbert, where'd you rent this car?" Jonathan swaggered into the yard, shouting.

Elbert smiled. "Cut the crap and sit down!"

Jonathan casually took a seat and pulled out a box of cigars from his bag, tossing one to each of them. "Elbert, couldn't make it in the city?"

Elbert sighed leisurely, looking at Jonathan who had been a chatterbox since childhood, unsure of what to say.

"I knew it. You wouldn't last long in Wavehaven! You can't make money, can't buy a house, can't find a wife, and definitely can't have kids! Staying in a place like that, you're just suffering for the sake of pride! If you're feeling down, just tell me. I've already talked to my dad, and he has specifically reserved the assistant manager position for you. If you're really short on money, I can let you have one of the houses I built on credit."

Jonathan crossed his legs, looking nonchalant, but his words were sincere!

"Jonathan, nothing sounds right when you say it!"

A few ladies playing poker cards nearby called out while handling their tiles.

"Hey, all the beauties of Riverside Town are here! I just finished a big project and made over two million dollars! Today's wins and losses are on me!"

Jonathan laughed heartily.

"Alright, stop showing off!"

Jonathan shrugged and turned to Elbert. "Did you hear what I said, buddy? Think it over. I'm not joking. If you come back, I have some pull in the county and can help you out! I'll even introduce you to a few girlfriends. Life will be good!"

At this moment, Melissa brought out two plates of food and placed them on the table.

She nodded slightly to them and returned to the kitchen.

Jonathan was instantly dumbfounded!

"Who's this..."

Elbert smiled slightly. "She is my friend."

"Your friend? She looks like a model!"

Melissa was still in her long dress, with a great figure and outstanding looks!

Jonathan had never seen such a beauty in his life!

"Excuse me."

Trinity came out with two more plates of food.

Jonathan's eyes widened!

"She's also a friend," Elbert said with a smile.

"She's mixed-race! I've only seen this on TV!"

Jonathan was excited!

How could these two gorgeous ladies come back with Elbert!

'I don't believe it!'

Elbert, that stubborn and poor guy, shouldn't be able to find a wife!

Jonathan, who was staring at Elbert, suddenly heard a chuckle in his ear.

He turned around.

A little boy, hands behind his back, was grinning at him.

"Where did this kid come from!"

Jonathan was so startled by Dennis that he almost fell to the ground!

Elbert smiled again. "He is my son."

Jonathan froze!

"You even have a kid!"

Jonathan couldn't believe it and put a cigar in his mouth.

"Jonathan, you have the cigar in backward," Elbert sighed.

Jonathan spat out the cigar. "How is this possible? I'm so handsome and rich, and I don't even have a wife! I don't accept this!"

By now, all the dishes had been set on the table.

The group turned the table into a dining table and sat down with Trinity, Melissa, and Dennis.

Elbert and the other two men sat at a small table nearby.

Elbert pointed to the dining table, helplessly saying, "Try some, I cooked it."

"You? Is it edible?"

Jonathan said, but the aroma attracted him, and he grabbed a piece of meat with his hand and put it in his mouth. "Fuck, it's delicious!"

"I still don't accept this! This pisses me off! I'm jealous!"

"Christopher, drink him under the table! Make him look bad!"

Elbert smiled slightly. "Christopher can't outdrink me."

Christopher, hearing this, was not having it. He glared and said, "Are you kidding me? I was known as the king of alcohol since I was 13. Back then, we stole liquor from home, and you two were out cold while I still did my homework! Nonsense! Jonathan, come on, pour the drinks!"

An hour later, under the moonlight, in the small yard, Elbert sat upright, not flushed or out of breath.

Christopher was already under the table.

Jonathan was slumped over Elbert, a complete mess, with his cigar in backward again.

The elders at the other table saw this scene and laughed heartily!

Melissa and Trinity experienced a unique feeling.

A gathering with friends in the small yard.

A mysterious man, showing a simple and happy side!
