Chapter 482 Agent

"Melissa!"

"How could you be so reckless, dealing with the mob?"

Ronan stormed over to Melissa, his face flushed with anger. "This is exactly what your father forbids. How am I supposed to help you this time?"

Ronan paced back and forth, clearly agitated. Today was supposed to be a day of celebration for the Clark family.

But now, everything was in chaos!

"You were always so well-behaved and sensible. How did a few years in Wavehaven change you so much?"

Ronan suddenly frowned and asked, "Did you really fall in with some bad crowd?"

Melissa pressed her lips together slightly.

"Dad, I can help Melissa."

A young man in a suit and black-rimmed glasses stepped forward.

This was Finnegan Clark, Ronan's eldest son.

Finnegan was a young prodigy, having graduated from Victoria Tech University, and was a rising star in mechanical engineering.

He had founded an industrial robotics company in Veridiania, which was doing exceptionally well.

Finnegan approached with a smile. "Dad, my company develops smart robots, and Melissa's smart store also uses some robotic assistants. It has some value."

"How about this: my company will buy out Melissa's store."

"She just needs to negotiate with her boss about the price, and he can name it!"

"This way, her boss won't lose out, and Melissa can get out of this mess. It's a win-win."

Melissa's eyebrows furrowed.

The Pioneer Smart Store had been open for over ten days!

Five words could describe its current state: it shocked the entire industry!

The store's robots and AI technology far surpassed anything from current Veridiania robotics companies!

"Finnegan, are you serious?"

Ronan's face lit up with joy. He only wanted to protect Melissa and didn't understand the value of smart robots!

Hearing Finnegan's offer, he immediately wanted to seal the deal. "Finnegan, you better not be joking about this."

Melissa calmly said, "This business can't be sold."

"What do you mean it can't be sold!"

"Are you short on money or a job?"

"Even if you're short on prospects, I can create one for you!"

"But doing this is just going to drive your father crazy!"

Ronan put his hands on his hips. "I've decided. The store must be sold, or I won't recognize you anymore!"

He turned to Finnegan. "Finnegan, handle this quickly. If you need money, just ask me!"

With that, he gave Melissa a stern look, then walked off to console his brother.

Melissa sighed softly.

Her uncle meant well, but he was just as old-fashioned as her father.

Then, seeing no one else around, Melissa narrowed her eyes at Finnegan. "My store may not have many locations, but you know what it represents. What do you mean by 'some value'?"

Finnegan chuckled. "Melissa, I'm trying to help you!"

Melissa's demeanor turned icy. "My father is usually busy with work. How did he suddenly have time to investigate my affairs? Did you stir things up behind the scenes?"

Finnegan was taken aback.

The usually gentle and quiet Melissa seemed different now!

He stammered, forgetting his prepared lines. "Melissa."

"Spit it out!"

Melissa's eyes narrowed again.

"Yeah, I did give him some info, but it was for your own good!"

Finnegan instinctively took two steps back.

Melissa's brow furrowed. "Since we're still family, I'll give you a piece of advice. My boss is not someone you want to mess with. Drop your schemes while you can!"

Meanwhile, Aaron entered a private room and glanced at his phone.

Incoming call: Leonard.

He took a deep breath, composed himself, and answered with a cheerful tone. "Leonard, how have you been?"

On the other end, Leonard sipped his coffee. "Aaron, the favor you asked for is quite challenging!"

"Come on, Leonard, we've been friends for years. You have to help me with this!"

Anyone overhearing their conversation would be baffled.

Aaron was a high-ranking official in Veridiania!

And Leonard was just the head of the Wavehaven police, a huge difference in rank!

Yet Aaron sounded like he was pleading!

And Leonard seemed somewhat arrogant!

"Leonard, this isn't just my request. It's Mr. Fields' wish!"

Leonard was startled. "Daryl Fields?"

Aaron nodded. "That's right. It's not an order or official business, just Mr. Fields' personal wish. He wants to meet that young man."

"Ronnie won't listen to anyone, so I had to ask for your help!"

Leonard scratched his head.

His long-standing 'clean-up' efforts were well-known among the leaders.

Everyone knew.

Leonard had a close relationship with that young man!

Recently, many had privately sought his help for introductions!

Rumor had it, he was like a 'broker'!

Leonard was getting a bit carried away!

But recently, he had called that guy several times with no response!

But now, Daryl from Crystal Bay personally requested it!

This put him in a tough spot!

After a long pause, Leonard replied, "I'll do my best, but I can't guarantee the timing, Aaron. Don't get your hopes up."

"Thank you."

Aaron sighed in relief and added, "Leonard, I have a personal favor to ask."

Leonard paused.

A personal favor from Aaron?

It must be a small issue in Wavehaven!

Leonard said, "As long as it's not about that young man, I'll do my best!"

"Thank you."

Aaron sighed. "My daughter Melissa has caused some trouble. I don't mind her starting a business, but she's mixed up with the Wavehaven mob and opened some smart store!"

"How can I face anyone with this?"

"I need you to use your influence to clean up those shady people and shut down those messy stores!"

Leonard was stunned!

Wavehaven?

Mob?

Smart store?

Wasn't that the business the young man started after cleaning up the mob?

And Melissa was indeed helping him run it!

Shut down his store?

That's ridiculous!

Leonard was so flustered he didn't know what to say!

"Aaron, you're my boss, but is this how you ask for a favor?"

"I help you, and you send me off?"

"If it weren't for our long friendship, I wouldn't even bother!"

"I can't do this!"

"Goodbye!"
