Chapter 295 FIC Has Always Been Low-Key
The Connors were so stunned by what they saw; they were at a loss for words.
They covered their mouths, eyes wide.
The cop was holding a gun with empty bullets, shaking all over.
He'd just seen a fight that was straight out of a dream.
Was that even human?! One punch sent a guy flying 70 feet!
At first, he thought he was hallucinating. But after seeing over 30 people get launched, he had to face the truth.
He was a cop; he knew these weren't regular folks!
Sweat drenched his back. The cop thought, 'What kind of mess have I walked into?'
Saint Harper was also stunned, watching from the window.
She'd been hunted by one of these modified people before and barely survived.
And now, over 30 of them were attacking! That young guy from Veridiania didn't stand a chance!
As a saint, she couldn't just watch.
However, before she could even join the fight, it was already over!
Her head was spinning, heart racing. She thought, 'How strong is this guy in white? Thirty times stronger than me? Forty? He is unfathomable.Who is he?'
Harper, losing too much blood and overwhelmed, fainted again!
On the eerily quiet battlefield, Elbert clapped his hands.
He turned, walked into the room, and sat on the sofa, waiting calmly.
Since he had acted, he wouldn't leave any loose ends.
The Connors timidly approached the sofa. Connor spoke up, "That was like watching gods fight! Mr. Perry, I get it now, you must be a saint from Veridiania!"
Elbert shook his head with a smile, "We don't use that term in Veridiania!"
Connor's wife chuckled nervously, carefully picking a piece of vase shard from Elbert's head.
"Mr. Perry, what happened earlier was a misunderstanding," she said cautiously, "I didn't know that's how saints communicated."
She shuddered at the thought of the vase smashing on his head moments ago. If Elbert had acted then, she'd be toast.
"That's not how we communicate, forget it..." Elbert waved his hand lightly, "But there might be more fights coming, and I'll cover any damages!"
"Cover damages?" The cop had just checked the modified people and confirmed the threat was gone. He returned, frowning, "This isn't just about damages! There are over 30 bodies outside; you need to come with me for an investigation!"
Elbert glanced at the handcuffs on the sofa and asked, "Go with you?"
The Black officer's mouth twitched, Elbert's overwhelming power still fresh in his mind. Those handcuffs would be like toys in his hands!
Taking him back didn't seem realistic. The officer straightened his chest, "Sir, please cooperate with our investigation!"
Elbert nodded slightly, appreciating the officer's persistence, "I won't make things difficult for you!"
Then, Elbert made a call.
Fifteen minutes later, a bunch of black cars rolled up.
A middle-aged Black man in an Evalia military uniform jumped out in a hurry.
The cop was startled and immediately saluted, standing at attention.
The newcomer was momentarily stunned by the sight of the bodies in the yard. Then he saw Elbert and the unconscious Harper on the bed and was stunned again.
He then shook Elbert's hand gratefully, "Mr. Perry, thank you so much! Thank you for saving our saint Harper!"
Elbert smiled, "Commander Wyatt, it was nothing, but this scene..."
It was the Evalia military commander that Elbert had met in Luxor Village!
He had seen Elbert's FIC badge. Commander Wyatt naturally assumed this was an FIC rescue operation.
He said excitedly with graditude, "Mr. Perry, don't worry, this is a small matter; my men will handle it!"
Elbert nodded slightly, "I didn't have orders from headquarters for this; I just handled it on the spot. Please keep this confidential."
Elbert said this to avoid FIC attention!
"Don't worry, I understand, FIC always keeps a low profile!" Commander Wyatt quickly agreed and ordered his men to clean up the battlefield.
Ten minutes later, the bodies were transported away and the blood was washed off. The scene was cleaned up thoroughly!
During this time, Elbert remained vigilant, but nothing unusual happened.
As they were about to move Harper, Elbert suddenly stopped them.
Robert Williams had already assessed Harper's condition. Though wounded, she was, after all, a B+ grade cyborg endowed with formidable resilience, leaving her largely unscathed.
Elbert said, "Commander Wyatt, Harper needs to stay here; the enemy hasn't been completely eliminated!"
Commander Wyatt's expression tightened, "You mean more enemies will come to assassinate her?"
"Exactly," Elbert nodded slightly, "The opponent is formidable; I'm the only one who can stop them. Harper staying with me is the safest option."
"Take your men and leave, including the Connors. I'll handle the rest," Elbert said.
Commander Wyatt was once again filled with gratitude, "On behalf of Evalia, thank you for your help!"
Then, everyone quickly retreated.
Commander Wyatt had witnessed Elbert's power firsthand, he knew his men would only be a burden.
But Wyatt didn't mention that he didn't want to miss this chance to observe!
After leaving the Connors' house, he set up an observation point two miles away, watching the small yard through a high-powered telescope, waiting to witness a top-tier battle!
As for Elbert, he sat quietly by Harper's bed.
Harper's figure remained equally exposed. Elbert sighed, found a blanket, and gently covered her.
As he was about to do it, Harper suddenly opened her eyes, grabbed Elbert's wrist, and said with a flicker in her eyes, " I want to have children with you because you are a strong man from Veridiania!"
