Chapter 84 A fight to the death

The power at Dawnlight Plaza suddenly came back on!

It was a pitch-black stage.

Suddenly, the lights came on, the LED screen lit up, and the speakers emitted a piercing scream.

In the center of the massive stage stood a lonely figure. That was the FutureTech Group's Vice President and Paul’s concert organizer, Rex!

Just moments ago, he had seen the charity hospital performance on his phone.

He finally realized the real Paul was there, and the one he had spent $300 million to hire was an imposter!

Rex looked at the empty, trashed, luxurious venue. He started to laugh maniacally. This time, his position in the company was completely ruined!

Hiring a fake Paul cost $300 million, setting up the venue and early promotions cost another $200 million, and revenue from the event was zero! A total of $500 million was gone! He could imagine the storm awaiting him when he returned to the company tomorrow!

This time, he had lost miserably!

He couldn't understand. Why was Paul there? Why would he participate in such a shabby performance? It couldn't be because of Lori! He knew Lori didn't have that kind of influence!

A figure flashed in Rex's mind: Elbert!

Rex started recalling the whole thing. From the beginning, Elbert had been suspicious that Ethan's Paul was a fake. He strongly advocated for Lori to hold the charity performance!

'Was it him again? How many cards did he have left to play? What kind of power did he possess?' he thought with a bitter smile hanging on his face.

He then thought about the sound system at his concert-going haywire, the stage suddenly losing power, a strange circuit lighting up, leading the audience away, and the real Paul quietly waiting by the seaside! Rex felt a chill down his spine, horrified!

'This was a massive, nearly impossible plan! Could all these tactics have been orchestrated by that kid Elbert? That didn't seem realistic!' Rex thought.

'Did I really mess with the wrong person? The first day we met, Elbert was clearly a pauper, a nobody! Trying to compete with me for the Brown Family estate? I wasn't wrong to try to get rid of him!'

The solitary Rex stood in the center, his mind constantly debating. He never realized that making an enemy of Elbert was the biggest mistake of his life!

Slowly, a fire of rage started burning in Rex's eyes. He was unwilling to accept this! Rex pondered for a long time. By tomorrow, he would likely lose his position in the company completely!

'Elbert not only had these mysterious tactics, but he also had connections with the Clark family and maybe even a military background! The killing order issued in the underworld had yet to yield any results, but there was no other way! I’ll fight him to the death!' Rex thought as he gritted his teeth, clenching his fists tightly. The walkie-talkie in his hand shattered!

"Elbert, you would never have guessed how formidable I am! I've hidden it for a long time! Now, it's time to release it!" Rex said coldly.

Suddenly. Rex's ferocious expression froze. He recalled several images.

[Elbert drawing an 80-pound bow.]

[Elbert taming a wild horse.]

[Elbert's freakishly fast shooting speed.]

'Elbert can't be judged by common sense! Could I be no match for him in combat either?' Rex's mouth twitched, and he thought for a second.

"Fuck! Then," Rex gritted his teeth fiercely and spoke. "Even if it costs me my life, I’ll fight you to the end! Elbert, I may not be able to beat you now. But just wait; in two days, I'll break every bone in your body!"

With veins bulging, Rex scanned the venue with a cold gaze. "Elbert, you have a few more days to live! But where the hell did that bastard Ethan run off to!"

Behind Dawnlight Plaza. In a pitch-black alley. Two disheveled figures were desperately fleeing. One of them clutched a leather bag full of cash! One slipped and fell by a trash can. This person seemed to have twisted his ankle and couldn't get up.

He pleaded, "Ethan, help me, don't leave me! We agreed before that I would impersonate Paul, and once we made the money, we'd split it 70-30! Now that we've been exposed, you can't just leave me here!"

These two were the fake Paul and Ethan!

Ethan held the leather bag tightly, spat at the fake Paul, and said, "Get lost! I told you to practice your singing, but you didn't. You only relied on the sound system! Stupid! You know nothing about singing! If you had managed to fool them, we wouldn't have had to run! You've screwed me over too! I can't afford to worry about you now; you're on your own!"

With that, Ethan gave the immobile fake Paul a cold look and turned to run!

"So what if we've been exposed? I still got the money. The Brown Family are a bunch of idiots! And that Elbert is a self-righteous fool too! $300 million is enough for me to live it up overseas for a lifetime!" Ethan laughed as he ran through the alleys, heading straight for the speedboat he had prepared by the shore!

Suddenly, just as Ethan reached the last alley, he froze! At the end of the alley. Dozens of burly men blocked his way! And in front of those men stood a graceful figure in a fitted dress. She watched Ethan coldly, expressionless.

"Miss Clark?" Ethan sensed something was wrong and instinctively stepped back. But he heard the chaotic footsteps behind him. Another group of burly men blocked his retreat!

Melissa smiled lightly, both alluring and bone-chilling!

"Miss Clark, what are you doing?" Ethan was already trembling all over!

"Elbert said you have a bet with him. Now that the concert is over, it's time to settle it." Melissa said lightly as the group of burly men behind her glared at Ethan menacingly.

"What bet? I didn't make it, nor did I agree to it, so it doesn't count!" Ethan was terrified to the extreme, backing away repeatedly until he fell to the ground!

Melissa laughed again, her long, narrow eyes full of seductive mystery! She raised her jade-like hand and gently stroked her smooth chin, "He asked me to give you a message."

Ethan's eyes widened, stammering, "What?"

Melissa's gaze suddenly turned sharp, and with a wave of her arm, the group of burly men rushed forward!

"The right leg!" she commanded.
