Chapter 500 A Father's Love is Like a Mountain

Knox stood confidently on his hoverboard, hands behind his back, surveying the crowd with a look of superiority.

He had just shot to the top of the leaderboard!

Even Dennis was taken aback, instinctively wiping the sweat from his forehead.

The next moment, the announcer's voice echoed through the arena, "Let's welcome our next contestant, representing Pioneer Company, Paul Seven!"

The spotlight swung over to a young man wearing a mask, causing the audience to murmur in surprise.

Who was this newcomer?

Everyone was curious to see if he could make a stunning debut and challenge Knox.

Knox glanced at Elbert with a provocative look in his eyes.

Elbert, however, simply raised his hand and made a gesture—he was forfeiting!

The crowd was stunned!

Forfeiting? Was he really that scared?

In the VIP section, a group of financial moguls turned to a strikingly beautiful mixed-race woman, "Elowen, what's going on? Why is Paul Three forfeiting?"

Elowen was caught off guard as well.

At that moment, an elderly man stood up from the judges' panel. He was one of the world's top robotics experts.

In a deep voice, he said, "We've seen Paul Seven's work. He absolutely deserves to be in the finals. I agree with his forfeit for this round, and he can continue in the next."

He looked at the other judges, who nodded vigorously and raised their scorecards, all showing the word "AGREE."

The audience was in an uproar!

What was going on? Did this kid have connections with the judges?

Elowen finally breathed a sigh of relief.

She smiled and said, "Paul Three is a person of great stature. He doesn't need to participate in the process; he'll go straight to the finals!"

The financial moguls suddenly understood.

So that's how it was!

Dennis, however, looked serious. He was up next.

His robot, 'Violent Bear,' approached the starting line.

Dennis kept adjusting it with a wrench, not wasting a single moment.

The audience had low expectations, thinking the robot might just explode halfway through.

The whistle blew, and 'Violent Bear' started moving, struggling like a toddler learning to walk.

"Don't bother watching, it won't finish," one spectator said dismissively, glancing over, "What the—!"

"Wow!"

"Violent Bear is running!"

"It's jogging and even jumping!"

"Oh my God!"

"There's hope!"

Thousands of spectators sat up straight.

The rickety robot was moving faster, barely avoiding obstacles and climbing stairs.

Dennis's eyes shone with excitement and determination, his expression infectious, rallying the crowd to cheer him on.

"Go, Violent Bear!"

"You're almost there!"

Many spectators watched with wide eyes as the robot barely crossed the finish line.

"No way, it actually did it!"

"Incredible!"

The crowd erupted in cheers.

The announcer stared at the timer in disbelief.

Time: 4 minutes 30 seconds!

The same as 'IL Intelligent Life'!

The announcer shouted excitedly, "The biggest dark horse of the year, 'Violent Bear,' ties for first place with 'IL Intelligent Life'!"

The crowd went wild!

They had been so focused on the race, they hadn't noticed the time!

This kid's robot was actually competing with Knox's!

And he was just a kid, a Veridianian kid!

Dennis, drenched in sweat, finally smiled.

But Knox's face turned pale.

How could Dennis have such skills? Wasn't he just an ordinary kid?

"This competition is full of surprises!" the announcer exclaimed, his blood pumping. "Let's move on to the second round!"

"The intelligence competition for the robots!"

As the announcer spoke, ten large touchscreens were set up on the stage.

These were ten intelligence test questions.

Simple for humans, but a huge challenge for robots.

Because this time, no human control was allowed; the robots had to complete the tasks autonomously.

This involved visual recognition, information processing, database retrieval, and reasoning.

After all, there was no true artificial intelligence yet, only specialized algorithms.

Robert: "These questions are tough!"

Elbert: "Step aside."

During the five-minute preparation time, Dennis frantically typed on his computer, adjusting algorithms as if facing a formidable enemy.

Knox, however, smiled lightly.

This wasn't about mechanical principles anymore!

He was going to crush Dennis!

The competition began!

The nine contestants who had won the first round took their turns, with dismal results.

Correct answer rates were below 30%, taking 10-20 minutes each.

Some even crashed on the spot!

The remaining contestants were Knox, Violent Bear, and Paul Seven.

Knox suddenly raised his hand, "I request to increase the difficulty of the questions! What do the other two contestants think?"

The arena fell silent again.

Knox was indeed arrogant!

Dennis's eyes flashed, and he said in a low voice, "Fine!"

Elbert, sitting there, looked at Dennis's determined face and pondered for a moment.

He made the gesture again—he was forfeiting!

The crowd gasped!

This wasn't unexpected; Paul Seven had lost his will to fight in the last round.

The judges stood up, looking at Elbert in disbelief.

"Paul Seven, are you sure?"

"This is the finals!"

Paul Seven nodded calmly.

The judges sat down in defeat, "Why?"

The financial moguls in the VIP section couldn't sit still.

"Elowen, why is he giving up the finals?"

"Why isn't he showcasing his technology?"

"How can we invest like this?"

"Why?"

Elowen was flustered, "Please wait, I'll make a call!"

She stepped aside and dialed a number.

"Mr. Perry, what are you doing?"

Elbert's calm voice came through, "I just want to give the kid a chance to shine. Three trillion dollars isn't as important as his growth."

"Mr. Perry, are you crazy? I've never seen anyone spend so much on a child's education!"

Elbert chuckled, "I'll find a way to get the funds. Just focus on the competition and cheer for Dennis!"
