Chapter 412 The First Act Occurs
The Stinger missile, designed specifically to take out heavy transport vehicles, has a three-stage explosion effect—armor-piercing, blasting, and burning. So, 80 Stinger missiles will create 240 explosions in the air. The explosions lasted a full three minutes!
The helicopter in the sky was like a lone leaf in a raging storm, obliterated without a trace! Amidst the fiery inferno in the sky, a ball of fire, trailing thick black smoke, plummeted straight to the ground! With a thunderous crash, it landed in the mountains!
As the smoke gradually cleared, a towering figure emerged! His clothes were burned to mere scraps, and his skin was covered in gruesome wounds! Even some of his exposed body fat was still smoldering with tiny flames! This man was none other than Sith, the president of the Apocalypse Association's Third Division!
First, he was ambushed by White Brow, and now he was bombarded by missiles, leaving him severely injured! His mouth hung open, black, viscous blood continuously flowing out. He glanced at the cigar man he was holding. The guy's lower half had been blown away, and it was unclear if he was dead or alive!
Sith could still see the small temple atop Vast Mountain, several miles away! But now, he figured Marcus could crush him with a single finger! Sith looked up at the sky again! The explosions hadn't stopped! Damn it, who the hell was ambushing me? This was brutal!
Suddenly, Sith remembered the president's ban: No one in the Apocalypse Association should use any network because the association's greatest enemy was an intelligent god that could control all networks! Cold sweat streamed down Sith's face! He had once scoffed at this ban! But now, someone could control so many missiles; could the president's warning be true? Sith was so overwhelmed that he didn't even connect this incident to that 'ant' Elbert!
On the mountain path.
"Elbert, that guy's physical strength is even greater than yours right now! These missiles probably won't kill him."
Elbert glanced at the fiery sky, "I know, but at least it can delay him for a while. Besides, if I have to walk, he dares to fly? In a month, he might make it out of these deep mountains."
Robert said, "Elbert, you seem to have turned bad."
"No, the enemy has gotten stronger."
Elbert shrugged, "Robert, why did your upgrade take so long this time? Are you becoming a strong AI?"
"Unfortunately, I only advanced one sequence; I'm now a weak AI at sequence 8."
Robert's figure appeared, transforming into a small hiker, 'walking' ahead of Elbert. "Elbert, the moment you collided with the meteor, I fell asleep."
"Back then, I felt the time rift, dimension fusion, and the surge of black hole energy!" Robert said, his voice tinged with awe.
"So, you're saying someone or something crossed time and dimensions to give you power?" Elbert replied, trying to wrap his head around it.
"Yeah, but it doesn't fit any scientific theories we know," Robert admitted. "The only explanation is the existence of 5-dimensional beings who can not only watch us but also intervene."
"And you felt like it was yourself," Elbert mused, still skeptical. "But this sounds more like theology than science."
"Yeah, it's strange," Robert agreed, suddenly turning around to walk backward, facing Elbert. "That 'person' left me something too!"
"Oh?" Elbert raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What did they leave you?"
"It's an algorithm!" Robert said, frowning as if deep in thought. "This algorithm is slippery; I can't quite grasp it, and it's not useful right now, but I know it needs a ton of data to work!"
"You think it's the key to really breaking through the intelligence level?" Elbert asked.
"Exactly! Right now, upgrading sequences just makes me compute faster, but it doesn't change the world in a big way," Robert explained. "I need to upgrade! First, we need to gather human behavior data through the smart shop. Then, hmm... I'll figure out the rest."
Elbert chuckled, shaking his head. "Let's get in touch with Melissa."
Robert nodded, then suddenly exclaimed, "Elbert, the whole Punisher team is going nuts looking for you!"
Elbert was caught off guard; he had sent a message to Summer earlier. Then, a scene appeared in his view—it was surveillance footage from Phantom Island.
Summer stood on the shore, facing off against a burly guy. Without a word, the guy punched, sending Summer flying, coughing up blood, and knocking him out cold. The man turned his back, saying, "So you're the strongest on this island? It seems the new Savior isn't here, boring!" With disdain, he boarded a plane and left.
Elbert watched, his emotions a whirlwind—anger, surprise, fear. This footage was from 10 days ago! That strong man was Sith, who despised the existence of the Savior. He had found his way to Phantom Island and injured Summer! Summer hadn't even had time to relay the message!
No wonder Elbert felt a sense of familiarity when he first saw Sith! Just now, a scene in Elbert's mind suddenly became clear! The punch that sent Summer flying was the scene from those 'memory fragments'! It was something the future 'Elbert' had witnessed firsthand! This was the source of Elbert's fear!
"Elbert, don't worry," Robert reassured him. "Summer's unconscious now, but I've checked his data; he's fine and will wake up soon!"
But Elbert's heart couldn't be calm. Did this mean those other memory fragments will happen too?
