Chapter 237 It's What I Should Do
Dennis remained focused throughout the entire 20-hour flight.
As he gazed out of the window, the vast landscapes, expansive oceans, and cities that appeared like miniature models captivated his senses.
Everything was a new to him!
Trinity kept gazing affectionately at Elbert throughout the journey, but Elbert felt very awkward.
Besides, due to the exhaustion from traveling, he had to resort to dozing off.
The private helicopter slowly landed at the Lab Graveyard.
Trinity got off the helicopter and came to this land where several B-level experts from the Card Club had once fallen.
She still felt a bit dazed.
Even with the facts in front of her, she still couldn't believe that the calm young man beside her was the God of Veridiania that Officer Reed had mentioned!
Dennis got off the helicopter.
He was also stunned and curious.
In front of him was an enormous white building, like an upside-down white bowl, surrounded by wilderness with no other buildings.
Moreover, in front of this building, there was a small tent with a pointed top, similar to those from the ancient Native American period.
Before the tent, a man in a black tracksuit, with a baseball bat on his shoulder, was roasting a chicken over a campfire.
The baseball player had a shifty look.
Judging by his appearance, the chicken was probably stolen from somewhere.
Beside him, an eighteen-year-old boy with delicate features saw the helicopter land and got up to greet them.
The boy saw the bloodstains on Elbert's shirt and frowned. "Bro, what happened?"
Elbert patted the boy on theshoulder. "Summer, it's nothing. It's all taken care of."
Summer never questioned Elbert's words and turned to look at Dennis.
Elbert scratched his head and smiled. "We're going to have a new member in the family."
Summer was stunned, looking at Trinity in confusion!
Elbert quickly said, "Don't misunderstand. He is also a poor child, just like you."
Summer fell silent momentarily.
He pressed his lips and rarely showed a slight smile, nodding at Dennis.
Dennis nodded back.
Elbert took Dennis's hand. "Come here. This is Summer."
"I can accept Summer." Dennis nodded.
"Okay."
Elbert held Summer's hand and walked towards Quentin. After a few steps, he suddenly turned and asked. "Summer, are you RH negative?"
Summer nodded blankly. "Yes, what's wrong?"
"Nothing." Elbert smiled at Summer.
After Elbert came back to his senses, a trace of pain flashed in his eyes.
They came to Quentin, and Elbert said, "This is Quentin! He's a baseball player! Quentin, this is Dennis!"
Quentin looked up at him in a daze.
Quentin wiped his mouth and said in shock, "Paul Three, this isn't your son, is it?"
"According to your family tradition, is this kid a little freak?"
Quentin suddenly squinted his eyes, pretending to be scary, and said to Dennis, Tell me, what level of cyborg are you?"
Dennis remained expressionless. "I don't take Quentin."
Elbert shook his head helplessly.
Quentin stroked his chin and said, "Quentin suddenly has an idea, I can't beat Paul Three, nor can I beat a drunk Summer, so if I defeat this 3-year-old kid, does that count as defeating your family?"
Elbert sighed. "Quentin, do you want to go to heaven?"
"Just kidding!" Quentin said, tearing off a chicken leg and handing it to Dennis. "Have a chicken leg."
"No, you're crazy, Quentin." Dennis turned his head away.
"Then I'll eat it myself. It's lovely."
Quentin ate while sneaking glances at Dennis.
He was still scheming.
He secretly planned to find an opportunity to compete with this kid.
'I can ambush him while he's drinking milk, but I need to be prepared, just in case I end up in heaven.'
Elbert shook his head helplessly.
He slowly took out a bloody hand.
Quentin, with his mouth full of chicken, suddenly froze.
His expression was stunned.
He clearly saw a black and white clown tattoo on the wrist of the hand!
Quentin's eyes gradually filled with tears.
"This is the killer who murdered my wife."
Quentin blinked hard, trying to hold back the tears.
He took the arm and was a bit dazed.
Quentin's mind flashed with a series of images in an instant.
There was a tender moment with his wife, followed by the heart-wrenching scene of cradling her shattered body. Then came the memory of vowing to hunt down his enemies for the rest of his life.
Quentin gritted his teeth!
He accepted the transformation with a mindset of facing death!
Then he took his wife's place, traveling around the world, desperately searching for traces of the Card Club!
He trained himself madly and numbed himself with alcohol!
Just so that one day, he could kill the black and white Joker and avenge his wife!
He seemed to laugh every day.
However, actually, he always harbored hatred and anger!
He hated his own incompetence, his lack of strength, and the fact that he couldn't find or defeat Joker!
Years of fruitless efforts had left Quentin feeling hopeless about ever getting his revenge.
However, he never expected that Paul Three had helped him eliminate the enemy.
Seeing Quentin suddenly quiet, Elbert sighed slightly.
He turned and led Dennis towards the Lab Graveyard.
"Violent Bear, your house is so weird."
"Weird?"
"This will be your home from now on!"
Quentin slowly turned around, watching the big and small figures walking away, tears streaming down his face.
He threw the half-eaten chicken leg on the ground and cried out loud.
After a moment, he suddenly shouted at the top of his lungs, "Thank you, Paul Three!"
Elbert's figure paused slightly, and he waved his hand without turning back. "You're welcome!"
Quentin cried even louder.
"Paul Three, I will remember your kindness! If you need anything, just tell me! Even if it means death, I will not hesitate!"
Elbert took a deep breath and looked up at the sky, and his eyes were also a bit moist.
Without looking back, he waved his hand again. "It's what I should do!"
